Just store the ship, open vehicle loadout manager. Remove or change any component from the ship, save, re-attach that component and save again. This will also save the cargo rail after a claim
Since This has been the case since 3.19 when the Attach/Detach system was introduced for components :D This will probably be further expanded upon as we now have Mining Saddlebags in the Cargo Deck stores, and will probably make the changes more permanent than what they are, as we now have the Modularity system (Tho we would have to wait a tiny bit, cause CIG is still figuring our external Modularity).
Haha yeah I have a feeling it's been around for a while... but sometimes I don't take the time to actually test it for ages :-P. It will be interesting what else the make cross compatible with different hardpoints in the future.
@@JDSMeowKitty_Gaming There are lots that Star Citizen doesnt tell anyone about that are just there. You will find more and more stuff to do that one didnt know one could do. Sneaky CIG are always being sneaky! xD
Yeah I'd heard about it being possible but wanted to test it out for myself... It would be great if the transfer lasted through a claim, but I guess the idea is to try not get the ship destroyed in the first place
is not this something you can do with invertory (storing the part in inventory) or ship config? I mean you still need the CL but maybe you can steal it or get it from a wrecked aurora, that would be nice
Yeah I must admit I haven't stopped to check a blown up Aurora CL to see what I can salvage from it, might pay a little more attention next time I see one in Bounty contract.
I've yet to test this out but sounds like I definitely should! ... I lined up a C2 to start doing some swapping testing, went to get the first Aurora, got back to where the C2 was and someone had munched it up haha
If you need to have 1 mr, 1 cl, and 1 c2 to do this, what is the point? Take a taurus or something like that and that will be less complicated and cheaper..
You're right! It's definitely not worth the time getting an MR, CL, and C2 out of your hangar flying them all out into space to perform the change over, I just did it that way for testing purposes ... If you have an MR and a CL you can just do it all in your hangar these days, however ideally you'd take the MR into combat against a CL, soft death it and do the change over with the ship you've just destroyed 👍

Hmm interesting...definitely going to check that out!! Thanks for the info.

i really want them to just scrap the aurora and make it a small scorpius with connie vtols.....
But it has to keep the small standing area and bed... That's what makes the Aurora so unique 😅
@JDSMeowKitty_Gaming I would do a variant with a bed and one with internal 2scu cargo in addition to the 3-4 on the rear.
this ain workin
Where are you having trouble, I do this to my Aurora MR each patch... I haven't tried it 4.0 EPTU though
first :)
Someone has to be first, so well done 😂👍
