Same. It's Unforgivable & lazy. Especially at these inflated prices & there's not even licences required to make these sets. A real money grab by LEGO but they pass it off as fan service.
I am SHOCKED that Thieves of Tortuga made the cut, but I am overjoyed that it did!!!! It was by far my favorite of all the submissions, even over the ship models. As someone who has always dreamed of owning a Lego pirate ship but has never obtained one, that says a LOT about how great that model is! It's the perfect port. It looks straight out of PotC or AC:BF. No surprise that Dracula's castle made the cut. I would have been shocked if it didn't. The hype around that set was insane. Tortuga takes precedent for me, but if I can swing both I'll get the castle too!
Fact that the Mushroom village is a follow up on the house will also increase the house price set even more. I do hope it won't get too high since I would love to get my hands on the house as well!
Between castle & pirates, the latter fanbase is massive as whenever bricklink releases a set dedicated to one. Castle always sell out in less then a hour, while pirates last set didnt even reach the halfway point. Their excuse this time was that too many people voted for castle factions sets so they vetoed it. Then atleast releases them on rebrickable.
I paused a bunch at the opening shots to see them all and I have to say I dont understand how a popcorn stand snuffs the frickin steampunk airship or woodland sanctuary. also very ifify on how i feel about the mushroom set.
Instead of that Popcorn Wagon I was really hoping that small set is gonna be one of the Viking ships, they were both around 500 pieces and they were great!
This beautiful castle reminds me of the Monster Fighters Vampire House (or whatever it was called) from around 2014, which came with a full range of monster minifigs in the related minifigure series. I display it alongside my (complete) series of modular buildings. It's such a beautiful set - the best dilapidated house Lego has delivered and it too opens like a doll's house to show one of the cookiest interiors. Q: how does a vampire sleep? A: on bed boards. (I thought, wrongly, apparently, that they slept in coffins).
The mushroom village and antique shop are on my list. Maybe the popcorn wagon depending on its price. And whllst I like the look of the castle and the pirate set; both of them aren't for me.
Transylvania - Will sell out in one hour (assuming the site doesn't crash from the flood of orders)... mark my words Popcorn - This will sell out next. It's cute and probably low in price. Mushroom - This must sell out as well considering it's predecessor did. I can't imagine fans, who bought mushroom house, won't buy this. Antique - I agree with the video. This could swing either way. I think the sale success of this set will be very price dependent. Pirate - I predict this one will have success but will NOT sell out because it's on the premium price range as Transylvania. BDP members, fan or not, will purchase Transylvania first due to the hype surrounding this set. I'd imagine this will eat into some of the sales for Tortuga.
The Transylvania I could see it be made for the D&D series to be The Vampire (Strod) to be his Castle. The Pirate could also just be made as a Pirate's of the Carabeian set. (with just swapping the character's)
Transylvania castle and Pirates one are MUST. Great for display and 2 of the sets I was hoping for the most in that series. Popcorn wagon is also nice but it's not my priority, so depends how they price it.
I mean, there were so many cool models. Really hoping for that pirate restaurant, at the very least, but given the new rules I guess it makes sense. Glad some are excited though!
River knights watchtower, how I have longed for you and your watery delights, where are you??? Don’t leave me like this, You shall forever be in my dreams…… (But seriously, my kids really wanted it , I even reloaded the results page 3 times to check there wasn’t a missing castles section!)

Really wanted the modular art center/factory and the modular hardware store & apartment reno. hopefully the lackluster sales motivates lego to produce the sets most in demand...
@@paschalisantoniou974 agreed…. When you think pirates you think of bearded bandits on battle ships. Can’t believe it lost to the pirate city which has an open back doll house concept

It's believed that the reason the Fortuna (ship) didn't make it was because Lego has plans to release the "Endurance" (another ship) in the near future. The Pirate city shouldn't have been selected either because it was at the 4K piece count making it in the same race as Transylvania. However, I'm assuming that Brinklink let that one slide because they felt it would encourage the future owners to also purchase the "Endurance"
Just subbed not too long ago, love the channel! And the Transylvania castle is a must buy for me. I recently got into the BL program, but I wanted to ask if anyone knows, when a set doesn't "sell out" does it mean it's still available for purchase? No right? I ask because I can't find a way to purchase any sets that haven't sold out and it wasn't clear to me (or I didn't look into it enough) that you weren't able to buy them.
Thanks for subbing. No you can’t buy them even if not sold out once the time limit ends. Unless it’s on the secondary market but that will of course cost more
Everything but the Antiques Shop for me. So happy with the Transylvanian Mansion. And the pirate set is now sooooo much better than the Series 2 one. Glad I didn't get that one
Adventure in Transylvania: No surprise here. Will be ordering two. The Thieves of Tortuga: A bit shock considering it was supposed to be in direct competition with Transylvania and Privateer Frigate Fortuna (ship) at 4K pieces. Even as a pirate fan, I felt the Fortuna should have been chosen over the Tortuga. We've had port winners before but never a ship. I can't understand how any pirate fans could possibly choose this over a battle ship that we have engraved in our heads when we think of pirates. Mushroom Village: Not a fan but I understand an applaud the designer's audacity. Popcorn Wagon: This is the one that I really don't get. It's nice for what it is but I felt that this spot could have been reserved for a more complex build.
I have on the shelf 6 Pirates ships, 2 Ninjago and no pirate town. Additionally, Tortuga's target group are Afol's, i.e. exactly those to whom the Bricklink program is addressed. An ordinary ship may be sold more widely, but it will not look like the Privateer Frigate Fortuna. Do you really think anyone at LEGO cares?
I remember there was one wolf pack set that was submitted on this series which was taken out on second day of voting period. If I'm not mistaken, it was discussed in another RUclips channel that it was taken out because that design was accepted on Lego Ideas program and probably are planned for production. So that probably one of the reason there were no castle set chosen for this series despite the popularity, cmiiw.
From the sound of things, the Transylvania set will sell out faster than Barad Dur in just a few minutes. I will be poised online the second it goes up! Good luck everybody else!
I really don't understand the hype for the popcorn car. It's very simple and honestly lacks creativity, especially when compared to a few other sets. I just feel like there were much better contenders for a low-priced set.
I gotta say Bricklink's guidelines for Series 6 seem a little tone deaf. Why is fishing exempt from the animal harm stipulation? Overfishing is one of the biggest threats to our ocean today. And avoiding depictions of circuses I get, but zoos and aquariums? Accredited zoological facilities are instrumental in wildlife conservation today. There are species that would be extinct right now if it weren't for captive breeding programs that repopulated them; the American bison is a star example of this. And avoiding highlighting fossil fuels? In a brand built largely on fossil fuels (natural gas and petroleum specifically)? So would a model depicting a LEGO-type brick factory technically be disallowed? Let that irony sink in. Also, has Bricklink seen the lithium mines that support "sustainable" power sources? It seems like Bricklink is making unnecessary and counterintuitive political statements at the expense of some potentially interesting submission ideas. I'm sure a lot of people would love an aquarium modular for their LEGO city layouts. I know a lot of this is probably coming from LEGO themselves so I'm not placing the blame entirely on Bricklink, I imagine LEGO Ideas has similar guidelines.
Again good looking but probably overpriced sets. I,am not a fan of this program. It is a chase item. And lego was never a "chase" kind of collecting for me. And another proof they want lego to be a more high end collectors item and not us regular afols with a normal non high paying job. It is getting hard for most of us.
