Whilst the set is good, I’m not sure I agree with your thought that LEGO have changed the design “for the better” from the original submission. Sure the colour scheme for the boat looks a little better in the tan colour than the white of the origins submission. But if you a dirtied watch the film you will see the top deck of the boat is white, but a dirtied white. TBH I’d rather have it be white than all tan like it is. Also the proportions of the boat were far more accurate in the original submission. For the set they’ve compressed everything down and shortened it presumably so it fits into a reasonably sized display/diorama base like it’s on. Finally the shark. It was much bigger in the original submission and again much more in keeping with the proportions in the film in comparison to the boat. But I guess that’s because they shrunk the boat down they had to shrink the shark. 🤬 03:47 again that’s because the actual set isn’t minifigure scaled like the original design. They’ve shrunk it down to fit on the diorama base.

My favorite part from the charlie and the choco factory is the candy tree. I really hope they will "steal" the design for LEGO Dreamzzz. I aim to buy all those sets, so I would love a nice candy tree. The Italian Riviera is GREAT. Especially since it's not a a third party set. I can't wait to see the final product.

If I remember correctly Disney/Pixar doesn´t own the lamp design. They would need to get the rights from two companies at least

I think we need another movie set we don't really have that much We have a lot of Star Wars And Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings but we need new movies don't have that much Movie themes I think Charlie the Chocolate factory would be good and nightmare before Christmas because we don't have that much Disney ones too

I am beyond excited for the Wonka set! I have watched the movie hundreds of times over the years since I was a kid. And I have read the book a few times as well. This is a must have for me.

I'm really excited for the Steamboat and Italian Riviera sets. I prefer when Lego Ideas sets aren't based on IPs.

The exterior of the Italian Riviera set is sublime. TLG must maintain the integrity of the original design here, but I'd happily see the interiors rehauled a little. I feel there's room for a small bathroom upstairs next to the bedroom in the back left building. Also, I can't tell from the Lego Ideas photos whether the red building on the right only has one floor. The pictures don't show a second floor.

I hope they keep the C&TCF minifigs roughly the same. I think Veruca Salt's appearance here is an improvement on her look in the 1971 and 2005 films, for example.

I'm so happy with both these choices. In fact, I watched the reveal video soon after it was posted, and I was hoping C&TCF would be chosen, and was absolutely thrilled upon its announcement. The Italian Riviera set was also a pleasant surprise for those of us who make Lego Cities and are minifigure based.

I just ordered the Eldorado Fortress, and I bought the big Indiana Jones set I couple of days ago (before I found out it was retiring). I found the Galaxy Explorer on the same site I ordered the Eldorado Fortress from, and they had 4 in stuck. I have ordered from that site before, also a set that was retired (well retiring but Leto had run out and it was December the year it retired). Really excited for them arriving. I don’t really have the space for them so they will stay in their package under my bed until I move out, but I really want them

Besides the absolutely fantastic trailer that Lego did for this set, what really sold me on it was Bruce ( the animatronic shark’s name) and his adorable teddy bear eyes. Can’t wait to put mine together when it arrives.

They wrecked my Bruce! Funny you mention "FIN" because the original design had that icon dorsal down pat! Lego came in and chopped the top of it off and made it FLAT! I'll be getting this set but rebuilding the shark back to the way it should have been. The Lego redesign of it is a disaster.

I am so looking forward to getting this set. Jaws is one of my all times favorite films, and this is amazing. Yeah, Bruce isn't perfect, but I'm happy that it is recognizable as that specific character as they got the jowls right.
