    Hi Andrew,
    I am new to RC planes and bought a float plane from the local store and I am having trouble getting coordinated and rather than trash this plane, I am building one of your trainers. I did not have any foam for the nose piece. I saw a woman in the store on the weekend with a pool noodle (foam tube for swimming) and found my solution. I cut it up last night and it works just fine. I think it is a little softer than packing foam, but I am certain it will do the job. Thanks for all the info you post - a huge help.

Geesh people,figure it out on your own sometime. scratch builds are about figuring that stuff out. I’m a complete noob. Bear with me. Why does it need to be dihedral/ poly hedral- as a result of being 3 channel?
    What would happen if the wind were flat?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 года назад

      Good question Dave. To turn a plane it needs to bank into the turn, otherwise it skids sideways. Usually use rudder to initiate the turn and ailerons to control the bank. 3ch plane doesn't have ailerons so it uses dihedral to cause the banking. Rudder turns the plane slightly side on to the direction of airflow, in that state the dihedral rolls the plane.

    Hi Andrew.
    This is Protik Banerjee from India West Bengal hobbyist age 55yrs. I am Interior Designer in profession. few months back I saw your 3 channel Trainer and got the idea to build one. but the one I build with coroplast is around 1420 grams in weight. Fuselage is made of 20x20 aluminum
    Can you guide me to build one 3 channel trainer. I got Turnigy D2826/6 2200KV motor, Turnigy Plus 40A ESC, 3s LIPO 25C 4000mah weight 328gms and 7x4 Master Airscrew pusher props, Note: Depron is not available in my state so i plain to make it with coroplast and thermocol.
    So could you pl sagest me a size and design to learn flying gliders.
    Thanks
    Protik

      Hello Protik.Follow the links in the description for more information. I have not used coroplast for wings or full fuselage. Your plane will always end up heavy. Have you tried Experimental Airlines Photon or Axon designs? They might be OK for your materials.

      What is the weight of your 3 channel trainer, What is the detail of Motor, Props and Battery.
      Now I am planning to make it with Thermocole and laminate it.
      How much load can my motor and props take. Once I complete the glider i will send you the photos.
      Thanks
