      I don't use the GoPro MAX360 very often, so when I do use it of course I have to throw in some of the fun and unique things you can only do with a 360 camera!

    8:45, awesome shot! I had a 17" in that area you were at EH, yep just gotta keep moving, I guess? 😊 Thanks again for the inspiration!

      After the tournament someone asked me why I left that area and said I should have just kept fishing there. I was like, well I fished there for almost three hours and didn't get much so I left. Maybe I should have moved around more in that general area since the whole thing was grass.

      @@GirlGoneFishing Hubby went Thursday and SO much more grass now.

    • @GirlGoneFishing
      @GirlGoneFishing  Год назад +1

      I wonder if that makes the fishing easier or harder. It would take the popper out of the equation after the grass reaches the top, but it also makes the weed edges easier to see before you are right on top of them. People have been saying for years the weed edges are the key to everything, but I am just starting to understand what they meant!

    I don't think I've ever seen a store with such a massive selection like Fishermans Central, holy smokes that place looks awesome. Not sure I could have got out of there in 45 minutes! :) Not sure what's worse, losing that fish or losing a Megabass lure! Ouch. Thanks for sharing Melissa.

      Isn't it amazing?!? If I had a bigger budget I would have spent much longer in there but I pretty much blew what I had to spend on that Megabass popper and a mini version in chrome that I bet will work great on our pressured lakes. Of course I went back and replaced the lost popper, I mean fish seemed to like it!

    Good to have a positive attitude & outlook! We should be enjoying our times on water in kayaks & fishing! In my mind, even a bad day of fishing is still a good day out on water enjoying mother nature. Catching fish & kayaking in luxury in my PA12 -360 just icing on the cake...

      This time I saw the bass, you can see it kind of blurry in the video, it torpedoed out from the shore in about 1 foot of water so I watched it hit the popper in maybe 2 feet of water. It is my fault for not retying after catching those two earlier bass, painful reminder of proper technique! I do love those accidental pike at EH, but they are always trying to steal my Jackhammers! 🤣

    Thanks for sharing the journey. Unsolicited tip (set a timer on your phone for 15, 20, or 30 minutes (your druthers) to keep your time mindful. No bites or hits in the allotted time, change color, lure, area of water column, speed, or area. Manage the clock, don't let it manage you. Good video

      I was lucky in that I am somewhat familiar with that section of East Harbor and basically know that the bottom is flat and it is all about the grass which I could see when I was standing. Would have hurt way more on basically any other fishery. Now I just need to get a new battery before next weekend!

    Erie is one of 2 fisheries I actually do miss sense we moved. But living in Fairfield North on Cincinnati. Erie wasn't a close or quick trip. My grandfather used to take my cousin & me up every year catch ton of small mouth & walleye. Then I would go every couple years as an adult. Bass fishing here in southern SC has been very good to me past 2 years. 2 weekend's ago I caught an 7lb 4oz 5lb 8oz & 8lb 6oz including another 12 small largmouth in about 6hours here in a small no name lake by my house. Big bass down here for sure! That's gotta be your battery, both devices wouldn't go out like that!

      Well my fish finder is new this year and has been doing this since I set it up, so it could be the wiring. And GoPro released a buggy update that causes the cameras to freak out if you use external power with no internal battery. So it is possible that all three of my electronics have an issue at the same time...possible but not probable. I'm going to pick up a borrowed battery this week to try.

    • @maxcole3930
      @maxcole3930 Год назад +1

      @@GirlGoneFishing it is possible, I'd try battery first then check the wiring also. Alot of time the wiring used is smaller gauge than it should be. For example the yak power kit & others use much smaller diameter than recommend by manufacturers of these electronics. Plus farther away your battery is the larger diameter wire you need for main power distribution. Which causes a lot of issues like higher amperage which causes heat Both not good for electronics!!!

    Same thing happened to me with a popper. Big fish broke me off and I could hear him rattling and shaking it. He was pinned well. I tried to find him so I could relieve him of a big poper, but couldn’t find him.

    Melissa is was so nice meeting you at the awards ceremony and taking a few minutes to get to talk with you. My granddaughter was so bummed when I told her. I know the tournament didn't go as you wanted, but just keep positive and that win will come very soon. Keep up the great job on your videos and being a great role model for young female anglers.

      Thanks! It was a revelation to realize that the AOY points list was the source of the pressure I was putting on myself which was making me grumpy when I didn't do well. I will just stop caring if I qualify for the end-of-year tournaments or not, and I will go back to just trying to learn. Sounds great if I can actually do it!
