Two years ago in the first round of the CMP 1911a1’s, I got a Service Grade 1942 Colt frame & Colt slide with a Flannery WW2 barrel, all parts except the magazine, barrel bushing, slide release appear to be WW2.
Thanks for sharing! I know lots of people on the CMP forum were going with Rack or Field Grade to try to avoid getting the replacement slide or barrel. This just reinforces the "luck of the draw" to me and grade only speaks to overall condition. Congrats on getting a nice shooter that I think is still a piece of US history!
Nice Rack Grade Pistol, Congrats! Received Round 3 (Nov '22 335XX) Field Grade Colt frame (1945) with replacement slide (DSE manufacture in FL). Overall pleased with my pistol. Not too much difference from your Rack Grade but no rearsenal markings. Prioritized my M1911A1, so just ordered a Rack Grade M1 Garand last week. Requested Korean War era. Fingers crossed for a decent shooter.
Mine from round 1 was a 1918 colt slide and 1945 colt frame. It was a re-arsenaled gun but an early one. There were no marks saying where it was done and the parkerizing was old. Colt non chrome line barrel also but unsure of age. Late war hammer. Grips were worn with some carry wear on the right side and on msh. Rack number stamped into bottom of msh. Video on my channel.
I was in Round 2, got mine in early December 2021. Rack grade, RR frame with original finish (no re-arsenal marks), WWII barrel, re-parked Ithaca slide. I wish it had matching frame and slide, but I'm satisfied as is. Also, Round 2 rack grades were only $850.
Good for you. I think I waited what served like a year in the last draw . But holding that piece of history is really something special. And as far as the new top. that's just part of it. You never know what's coming. Mine rack Colt/ Colt 1943. Rode hard and has a soul Enjoy
I've heard some people are interesting in getting freedom of information act results back for their 1911's with Israeli slides. I might just have to do that.
@@rakumprojects The CMP forums have wealth of knowledge and willingness to share. Found out mine has a interesting past. Spy stuff and visited interesting places in the far east. You just never know what history you have in your hands.
Round 3 CMP 1911 sales. 11/17/22 Received my M1911a1, Service grade, 1943 Remington Rand frame and a NO NAME reproduction slide that turned out to be a Colt National Match Hard slide (7790314). Replacement chrome lined barrel ".45 AUTO '85". All roll marks, inspection initials, "P" legible. An exceptional absence of re arsenaling marks, nearly pristine. An "MR" over strike on the Army Ordinance acceptance "crossed canons" . All in all very happy to have it. Thanks CMP.
MR - Mt Rainer Ordnance Depot .. this stamp alone can make it a little more valuable. WAS not very common but may be soon with all these 1911s coming out of CMP
@@LosFlyingTurntables Thanks. I looked at the prices and balked. I have Kimber and Springfield Armory 1911s that were much less. Then again, that was fifteen years ago.
If you received a 1911 from the CMP, comment here with what you got
1945 remington rand frame, GI replacement colt slide. Rebuilt at Anniston Army Depot in June of 1973

I’m hoping to get one just like yours when my number comes up.
Your pistol is amazing.
It’s exactly what I’m looking for.
Nice I learned something, didn't know they rebuilt them like that

@Lude Thank you for the "MR" confirmation. I did find a forum that mentioned it, but they weren't certain.
CARRIED AN Ithaca in Korea 1976,MP CORP
ENJOY your historic pistol.
I’m 36k. Got a few more weeks/months before my number comes up.
Shouldn't be too long though. People in rounds 1 and 2 waited a year for theirs
@@rakumprojects I’m late 35000, and for the last 3 weeks I keep on checking the forum to see if they have gotten to the 35000 numbers but no luck yet!
@@theimpaler2317 I'm lucky I got mine so quickly. I waited 9 months for my Garand and the anticipation was killing me
@@rakumprojects yes the suspense is bad! Every call I get on my phone I get excited, then I get let down!
Did you get yours yet?
We can't get a CMP pistol in CA because it is not on the "California Handgun Roster". We are prohibited from purchasing one in CA.
You can order one in CA as the CMP 1911A1 meets the CA definition of curio & relic. Mine was shipped today to my FFL.
The only state that cannot get 1911’s from the CMP is Massachusetts…….because they are dumb.

@@dtna neither of those carry military history and for under $1000 they are definitely lower quality range pistols.
