That was 😍! I have to admit I'm normally a 20 minute gal as that's what works in this current season of my life best but I loved making more time this week to do this longer practice. There were some real pearlers in here! ❤
Love it when I have enough time for these longer ones. It was great to really focus on my form and mobility. And awesome stretches at the end. Thanks, Melanie! 🖤🖤
really enjoyed the longer workout. I'm a swimmer so I work my shoulders a lot, I think I need to do more of your rowing exercises. My shoulders feel more open and lighter, I'm doing a terrible job of explaining, but anyway they feel much better! Thanks for the great content
That fully makes sense and tracks, I think - speaking generally/spitballing here, since I don’t know your history/haven’t seen you move, but sometimes adding resistance when you’re working through your end ranges of movement can create that sense of lightness or freedom through added stabilization, since the joints become a bit more supported by the muscles where they might not have been so stable before. This is true for a lot of hypermobile people (myself included), but can be true for others, as well. The body is a fascinating machine!
@MelanieLopezPilates so interesting. Thanks for the insight, I never considered it before. My body has taken a beating and I've asked a lot of it. I grew up doing gymnastics, diving, circus, crossfire and now finally I have to do low impact. I have to admit your pilates has made me much more mobile and my joints don't feel as old :)
That’s awesome to hear. I hear you on getting beaten up over the years - I started Pilates when my body needed some help after years of ballet, and that’s how I fell in love with it. I’m glad that it’s working for you :)
Holy moly my inner thighs and underarms are feeling it! Used the moon box on the rowing section, it felt like it helped a lot with the hip tension. Loved the stretches at the end.
so much range and no strength is a VERY relatable place for me (although i have worked hard on the latter). if you don't mind me asking, are you hypermobile?
Glad that you enjoyed it! Developing the shoulder mobility to get through that one is definitely a process, but tends to improve with repetition for a lot of people. Keep me posted on if you notice any differences over time :)
Love your videos! I do find it hard to do some of the things you incorporate since I have a Pilates power gym pro machine that is smaller than yours. So when it comes to various exercises I am unable to participate
@@MelanieLopezPilates It’s not full size , it’s a compact/mini reformer (did not know that when I bought it) there are super ancient videos where individuals use this machine but not many out there
Definitely feasible to increase - I have a mat-based flexibility session in the hopper that I haven’t prioritized editing yet (for members). Will try to get that out for you soon. In the meantime, I recommend adding a quick scooter stretch to hamstring/split variation every time you get on your reformer or finish your session. You could also consider using a magic circle to stretch hamstrings or doing the feet in straps/legs to 90 degrees stretch. Consistency on the stretching will help a lot. Hope that this helps xox
Hi Meg - thank you very much for reaching out with your concerns. I understand your frustration and appreciate your candor. I take your concerns seriously, and will prioritize a longer-form video as the next members video that I film. While I do have to balance short vs. long form preferences for the group to ensure that all members’ needs are met, my goal is to have a healthy mix of short and long, and I’ve heard your concerns loud and clear that more emphasis is needed on the long. In the meantime, I don’t know if this will help or alleviate your concern at all, but I wanted to share links to 5 videos in the 40-50 minute range that were posted in the time from this video’s release until now. The 40 minute videos in this batch are indeed shy of the 45 mark, which I understand might not meet your needs, but may be close in the meanwhile. These were filmed to be a little longer, but ended up a little short in the editing process. This may or may not assuage your concerns, given that some are shy of the 45 minute mark, but I just wanted to share just in case they are useful in the meantime. ruclips.net/video/DBp_VFIZplE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/m02IyD1DxT0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Cz-qI5kQLaI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/TEUd1h1u5l8/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Cjx7q1aNvCI/видео.html Thank you again. I sincerely appreciate the constructive feedback, and appreciate you being a member. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do in the meanwhile. I’d welcome any further feedback you may have at any point. Melanie

Love that! Thank you so much for letting me know. It’s fun to mix it up a little sometimes 💜

Loved the extra ab work!
Thank you so much Julie! Your support has made all the difference along the way, and I am grateful for you! xox
So amazing! Such fun new stuff I've never tried before. Feeling great stepping off the reformer.
Thank you! So glad that you enjoyed it 💜🙏

Edit. Darn autocorrect should say crossfit

Thank you! Two in a row and at the perfect times.
Oh man, it’s like we’re on a timer this week lol

Yay! Glad to hear that the moon box is working out 🙌
Man so squirrelly on a red with those mobility exercises! I've got so much range and no strength, feels great to have to shorten up my range!

Thank you. Great session! I do not have the shoulder mobility to reach my hands back very far, but luv the work/challenge!

Thank you so much! I am not familiar with the Power Gym Pro -- do you know how it differs from a more standard reformer? I'd be curious to learn.

oh that's interesting -- wish i could get my hands on one to try it out
Is it possible to get more flexibility in the hamstrings? Thanks!

@@MelanieLopezPilates Thanks and will do! Would love to see the mat session when available.
Very frustrated you keep saying you are going to do more long form workouts 45-60 and then you don’t thinking about moving on
