I ordered and installed one of these about a month ago. My Exact Edge was either chipped prior to installation and I didn’t notice it, or it chipped (flaked off like obsidian) after firing 22 rounds (the only rounds I have through my rifle). I reinstalled the factory but have not shot it since. To clarify, the bottom 1/3 of the claw is what’s missing.

I ordered a bunch of stuff for the PC Carbine from your website with confidence as I've ordered upgrade parts for other guns I own from you previously with no complaints. My PC Carbine is still new with about 300 rds through it so this is a pre-emptive undertaking as mine is still functioning perfectly.

Really excited by these upgrades. Looking forward to seeing a stronger ejector as well. The ejectors have been widely known to deform over time as well due to the steel in them. I definitely think you guys could do a better job there.

I installed MCarbo's extractor last year and my PCC was operating without malfunction for ~1500 rounds of Norma 124 gr TMJ ammo. On the last range visit, I started getting stove pipes, so took my Ruger apart for cleaning, and found that the 'claw' got completely worn out or broke off. For now, I replaced the edge extractor with the one I got from Tandemcross as a spare, and will be watching the part more closely now. I ordered another MCarbo's extractor - now its going to be a spare.

After 400 rounds I noticed the ejection was starting to get sluggish. Then after my first failure to eject I installed the exact edge extractor, bolt head pins ,and recoil buffer and it's been running like a top ever since. Ejected brass gets flung way out again.

I bought my Ruer PC about a year ago. What do you do when you have a new toy like this? You go to youtube to find out about it. I came acoss MCARBO last fall and finally got around to beginning with upgrades at Christmas. I'm loving that charger handle. When you're on a fixed income, you can't buy it all at once. This month, I'll be buying the extractor and the shock buffer. I already have the trigger group pins and recoil spring retainer. I'm looking forward to getting the upgrades paid for and installed. As I was deciding what I could afford each month, it suddenly occurred to me that Ruger could build the rifle with quality parts like this BUT then it'd be more expensive and old skinflints like me wouldn't buy it. Bottom line, I'll spend an extra hundred or so dollars to up-grade but not to buy a more expensive rifle. Ain't life grand.

Your video has the most useful information on the inner working parts of the gun . Learned so much about it from your video. Ordered these parts as well as the buffer.

Between this video and comments on Reddit, I ordered these two parts, the extractor and the pins.
Taking them out of the bag now, with your instructions here I feel confident that I can install these. I'll definitely let y'all know how the gun functions.... Hopefully I can make it to the range today.
Was very disappointed with the fact that this Ruger was having stovepipes every 4th or 5th round.
Hopefully this clears up the double feeding issue too.

    • @MrChadsimoneaux
      @MrChadsimoneaux 4 года назад +5

Installed the parts yesterday. The Mcarbo extractor and the pin set to hold the bolt and extractor.
Range report: the gun functioned almost perfectly now! I only had one malfunction where it tried to double feed. It's currently August of 2020 so ammo is hard to find.
Thus I only shot 110 rounds through it, but I went from a stovepipe every 4th or 5th round (*edit: to not having any stovepipes at all.*) Consider this my recommendation that you buy these products.

On the PC Carbine Chassis Ruger omitted the front sight because they wouldn’t line up right with the ergonomics. If there was a pic rail to attach to the hand guard that would sit flush with the factory pic rail on the receiver, it would increase optic and sight options.

My question is…. By replacing the bolt head pins with hardened steel (A2 tool steel) pins, won’t the holes those pins go into now take the abuse, wear and tear from the A2 tool steel parts??? In other words, I’d be afraid of the bolt head made probably of a mild steel, wearing out faster now because the A2 hardened pins are delivering a punishment onto the softer steel Ruger factory parts the pins fit into. Wouldn’t placing hardened steel against a softer steel and where both parts “collide” and rub into one another, then something’s got to give right??? MCARBO, what say you about this please???

Apparently I cannot conduct a good test with my Tipton Snapcaps with my Ruger PC9 (bought Dec 2019, latest & greatest). Nothing to do with the PC Carbine which is a very good rifle even stock, (absolutely improved with many of these upgrades however). I was eyeballing a HiPoint Carbine at my local gun shop while shopping for the new style stocked PC, (not available in Canada yet so I’m waiting). Any parts in the future for that glorified paintball gun? Obviously there has to be a market before engineering happens but I am curious. Not sure if you even still respond to this since it's over 3 years ago but would these upgrades work for the PC Charger?

When you gonna have an extractor for the pc charger. Took mine out today 3 33 round glock mags like 3 ftf per mag and one light primer strike. Let me guess break in period?

Are the tool steel pin hardened? If so , won't the hardened pins damage the bolt head?

No Sir, we tested the Bolt Head Rockwell Hardness and it's same RC rating as the pins.

What do you do when the bolt head pins won’t sit flush? And one gets stuck? I’m regretting spending a penny on any of these items

@@gunnagunna8706 Same problem here. One of the pin went in easily but the other was very very tight, not deep enough and, more worryingly, very difficult to remove. I ended up giving up (I kept the two Ruger original parts) and only replaced the extractor, its pin, as well as the recoil spring cap. At first glance, the new extractor looks 100 times better. For the rest, it seems a little too marketing to me...

I installed the new bolt head pins, now the the bolt head doesn't have any travel. With the Ruger pins, the travel is maybe 1 mm. Is this normal? The rifle has never been fired.

The extractor breaks, 150 round lifespan. Cost me a pcc match. Since I am in Canada mcarbo or the seller will not replace. It was working well while it lasted but I am done buying your products when the Canadian sellers will not stand by your warranty.

If Ruger wasn't such a cheap ass company they would have made these parts right in the first place......you should sell these to Ruger...LOL
