First news was 40 babies beheaded and I was disgusted to hear this. I am just a 58 year old guy from the UK and hearing that made me angry. In no time at all it was walked back a mistake they said. How the hell... I travel and turn left not right = A mistake was made BUT how the hell is 40 beheaded babies a mistake? What kind of people say this about babies in order to justify the slaughter of other little children? Then as time passes I learn about Israel and Palestine. The more these people talk the more I see and when I say these people I am talking Israeli spokespersons and so on. The more I hear from them the more my eyes are opened and I cannot un-see. I am thinking millions have now seen. So NO I am not anti-Semitic I am anti.... People that lie while children die. I don't care at all what your religion is or skin color. Hey you're not alone in this. Most of the American left, some libertarian right, and even most dems are waking up to this, feeling like they're going crazy. We're shouting from the ground up at the top of a 20 story building demanding change and it won't come down easy.
So frustrating. Much like the trail of tears, or the civil rights movement in the US, it will take more time and suffering and death before the status quo folk wake up to this, and they will look back fondly and pretend they were on the side of the Palestinians the whole time.

Huh? First of all, we invaded Iraq under the false premise that the country was involved in the attack on 9/11. We were also told Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, which was a lie. Still, Hamas started this war and brutalized Israelis. Women were gang raped and mutilated, babies were burned alive and about 1,000 people were shot. Over 250 hostages were taken, including children. You can't compare the 2 wars. The Iraq war lasted over 8 years and we lost more than 4,400 U.S. troops, not to mention the thousands who were seriously injured. Also, we weren't defending the U.S. after an invasion of terrorists, but decided to bomb a sovereign nation.without provocation.
Hell no, USA massacred 500,000 Iraqi's. The leftover munitions caused horrible birth defects for decades in women there.

Another point is how absolutely ludicrous it is that Biden would say he’s trying to combat far-right authoritarianism here in America, while he is actively supporting the far-right ultranationalist regime of Israel, and they are openly pining for Drumpf to regain power. One of the most surprising things about the coverage of the student protesters, was lamenting the fact that graduation ceremonies could be canceled for a population that already missed out on high school graduation ceremonies due to the pandemic. Really? Talk about missing the point.

Bernie has been a huge disappointment on Gaza. Yes, it was evil and an act of terror, and they 100% should have stuck to military targets. But they didn't start the war. If you disagree, then think about what that actually means. What qualifies as starting a war? Invasion? Attacks on the people? Starving a people? Cutting off all access to food, water, electricity etc? Find some standard that qualifies as what CAN start a war, and then apply it to Israel the same as you would to Hamas. If you don't come up with "Israel has been at war with Palestinians since at least 1948. Not Hamas, not the PLO. Palestinians," then you don't know what the heck is and has been going on this whole time. 10/7 was an atrocity, but the IOF and illegal settlers were invading Huwara on 10/6, just as they had invaded Huwara and attacked the people there, as well as dozens of other villages, throughout the year of 2023. THROUGHOUT the year of 2023, not "after 10/7."
The only reason people say that Hamas started the war is because the war only ever starts when Israel says it does, the ceasefire is only ever broken when Israel says it is. They control the narrative on all of that, because they are seen as legitimate whereas Palestinians are not. Israelis and other Zionists keep claiming that Hamas/Palestinians break every ceasefire, but if you look at the history it's the exact opposite: Israel attacks, there's an inevitable retaliation, and then they use THAT as the "cause" of the break. They do the same thing with the "start" of every war; they do something that causes retaliation, they act aggressively to cause a response, and then they blame the other side for retaliating/responding. AND EVERYONE JUST ACCEPTS IT.
Israel started the war. Bernie needs to stop parroting their BS and acknowledge that Israel was starting the war over and over the entire year, with literal invasions, assaults on hospitals and refugee camps, etc. There's no standard for "started the war" that Israel didn't already meet before 10/7, but because they control the narrative, they're always the victim.

Idk when this segment was filmed but I was just scrolling IG and saw Chris Hayes put out a pretty good counter point to all this homogeneity of main stream media and actually go to bat for the students and the protests. Was weird seeing an MSNBC logo on the same screen while a pro-palestine sentiment is being expressed.

I have devised a way of tying it all together and I'm happy to do it because only when we understand exactly what we are supporting can we stop it. You sadly are time constrained. I'm not. As a Canadian, Israel. Iraq was unpopular since before there were boots on the ground with certain segments. But Canadian news was maybe a bit different, and I was only a teenager.
I think the Israel narrative is at a truning point now so it might seem better now but Israel was around before the Iraq war and couldn't be questioned publically for decades, and now mainstream media is still aggressively defending them.
I don't see the comparison as productive. Media coverage was bad in 2003, has continued to be bad for the next twenty years, and remains bad in basically the same ways in 2024.
