Thank you for these quick informative videos! I love listening to you on the astrology podcast but I also appreciate finding shorter, more focused videos. 💗
I’m very grateful for this video - I’ve been really scared because Pluto is about to conjunct my sun and natally they are square BUT the square is at 9° and separating. So I feel a bit easier now.
question #1: could you determine the orb size you want to use based off how many degrees the planet moves a day? as you mentioned, some planets move about 1 degree a day -- so that's why the smaller orbs are more appropriate, right? question #2: do the orbs have meanings? like does an orb of 1 have different meaning than an orb of 2?
Does the same thing with separating and applying aspects apply in synastry? I mean, the planets aren't actually separating or applying to each other in synastry charts, as opposed to when looking at transits and birth charts for example. But should you consider them as if they were, even though the planets aren't actually moving towards or away from each other? And I don't know if you do synastry normally, but if you did would you use these 5 (& 13 for Moon) degree orbs there as well? I for example have a hard time determining whether a Venus in 29 Cancer and Mars at 8 degrees Leo in a synastry chart counts as a conjunction, because people say different things, and I would love your input because you're one of the astrologers I listen to the most :)
Great video 🙏 Astrology is fascinating! I've recently done my natal chart and there's a distance of 9°31' between mercury and the sun. What would be the aspect of that degree? Edit - i'd like to add that according to some site, i was born in the "Epimetheus Direct" stage of mercury which might entail something 🤷♂️
That's a wide orb conjunction A conjunction with the Sun is a unique aspect, I share more about this in this teaching: www.kellysastrology.com/product/purification-and-power-sun-conjunctions/
I read somewhere about the moon having a wider orb cause its a luminary too! I just realized moon is separating from uranus 8 degrees in my chart and applying 14 degrees to mercury rx. would you still consider that a loose conjunction? thanks :)
If the Moon is applying yes! In your case, Mercury is also applying to the Moon as it's Rx and therefore moving towards the planet that's moving towards it.
Hi Kelly, thank you! What about the orb of a retrograde planet? For example,in my own chart I have retrograde Mars at 15 virgo and Jupiter, also retrograde,at 9 virgo,so Mars already passed on Jupiter but then started retrograding... Would you consider it as a "retrograde applying" aspect?

Thanks so much Casandra

This is soo insightful!
Thank you
What about transits?
I was wondering the same

@@KellysAstrology thank you!
Thank you!!
So does this mean that aspects that aren’t exact aspects or “tightly orbed” will be less felt? I’m looking at synastry here.
Hi Kelly, thank you!
