  • We recently went on holiday to Mexico again and this time chose Premium as we were celebrating my birthday and our wedding anniversary. We flew from Newcastle to Cancun on TUI Dreamliner 787-800.
    Our seats going out were 7A & 7C. I hope this video is helpful if you are looking for videos for this aircraft in the Premium Section. Any questions just ask :)

    I flew to Jamaica with Tui last June. I booked an exit seat. Now, this was good for leg room BUT there were drawbacks. First, all the passengers kept gathering around my space, drinking, chatting, getting drunk and generally being obnoxious. One guy actually p'd himself in front of me. The pilot threatened to land the plane in Nassau and chuck several of them off. Second, the plane seat was solid at the sides, so it was like sitting in a hard box. There was no give and I found that I got bad hip and knee pain because I couldn't widen the pelvic area. It was so painful by the time I got to Jamaica that I felt as if it was torture. This time I booked premium hoping that these seats are wider and that the actual cabin is calmer and P head free. The real downer was going home from Montego Bay airport, It took a massive 90mins of queuing to check one bag in. The premium people all went thru very quickly. I tried to get an upgrade but they told me no chance, The plane was rammed. I hope this time I get a better experience

    • @SlimOnTheInside

      The seat sides are solid but much wider. I've actually got another video I am putting up soon (just need to edit it). I took my tape measure with me so videoed me measuring the seat and the belt etc, mainly due to how many questions I got from this video. Yes coming back from Mexico going straight to the front was worth it's weight in gold while everyone in economy stood in a hot sweaty queue for over an hour. Have you seen my video in extra space seats? Sounds like the seats you had. The width of those seats are smaller than premium and the tray sat on my lap for meals (on a tilt). Premium us so much better. But if you do travel economy, go for extra leg room as the sides are not solid so your hips can breath 😀

    Thanks for this. We're considering premium for our flight to Cancun. Did the people in front of you recline their seats and if so, how was it for you? (We flew Virgin Premium recently and seats were great until the person in front reclined, his head was virtually in my lap and it felt no different than in economy! He was pretty big and the seats were old and knackered, but even so, it's stopped us flying premium with Virgin again)

    • @SlimOnTheInside
      @SlimOnTheInside  Месяц назад +1

      It is hardly noticeable. If you look at the video at 3.09 (the lady in front of the man with the blue shirt has her seat reclined). if you look at the video of 3.13 you can see the lady next to me with the blonde hair has her seat reclined and the girls behind hardly notice it. I also have a more recent video that has seat measurements that might help too. That is disappointing to hear about Virgin as i would have thought they were the superior aircraft. They don't fly to Mexico from Newcastle so will probably never use them :) Any more questions, please feel free to ask.

      I've never known people to brag per say, I myself have told people about it, purely to let people know it's worth doing if affordable. But it's certainly not just a slightly comfier seat and a gimmick version of economy. You get a comfortable airport lounge before your flight...free food, alcohol etc, so you're not sat on a hard chair in the terminal for hours waiting for your flight, priority check in at premium check in desk only so no check in queues, fast track security, more luggage allowance, more hand luggage allowance, priority boarding...first on, first off, bags off the flight first, not to mention a wider seat, more leg room, seat reclines much further, 4 course meal, a welcome on board drink, few Tui gifts thrown in...it's miles miles more comfortable than economy.
