Thank you for sharing your journey start to finish on Marella Discovery. It has been a pleasure to watch. My family and I are going soon. You and Matthew are so lovely. Jamie your blogs are brilliant and very informative. X
I have booked exactly the same window seat outbound for my flight to the Caribbean next year. When I looked at Flight Guru I thought, OMG! What have I done?! But having watched your vid, I'm feeling much happier about it and I think I've made the right choice. Thanks Jamie!
Going on a 11 hour flight from England to mexico in a few weeks time, and we have chosen the same seats, i was in two minds to change them but watching this video has made my mind up to stay put, thanks for the great info
Great set of vlogs, thank you for sharing your trip with us. We're fairly new to cruising (only done one, with 2 more booked) but we absolutely loved how easy it was leaving our home in Basingstoke, to being in our cabin in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Your return journey here though, puts us off doing a fly/cruise as we feel the relaxation benefits of the cruise itself could be undone on the flight home. .... I guess we might have to take a chance in the future as we look for different, more varied itineraries (Yours looked amazing BTW, that sail away from NYC .... wow) Thanks again for the vlog, looking forward to seeing what you thought of the A350-1000 (we flew home from NYC in one in May and loved it) x
Really enjoyed this one! Just the other day I saw little ol’ Bristol airport goes direct to Melbourne FL with TUI, so looking at holidays there for the future ❤
Hi Jamie i have watched your stream about the worst seat and after watching i went ahead and booked my seats on the plane . I think my tui plane is the 787-8 so only two seats at the rear ,but i loved the fact there is no one behind and the toilet is behind those seats. Again great stream look forward to watching more in the future. eddie.
We’ve had those seats before on a short haul. The BIG advantage is no one’s knees digging in to the back of your seat or the inevitable little boy kicking you, with the parents ignoring their behaviour!
Great vlog and interesting to see what Tui offer on long haul - not a lot by the looks of it! That meal looked like mush - I'm sure they could do better! The seats looked fine tbh - I'd prefer those seats that some right in the middle of everyone. And tail is generally the safest part... looking forward to the next vlog
Definitely liked the seats being at the back so no one behind so can recline the seats. The food didn't look good but I would of been sat there with nothing as allergic to chicken so would of had to buy sandwiches to take on the plane. Look forward to seeing more vlogs and hope your having a great time on your current holiday.
Hi Jamie this Video has helped us a lot we hate flying and always book seats over the wing. Unfortunately I have broken my leg and TUI and PO have said this is the only seat that would work for us as the leg is straight. there' was no premium seat to upgrade. we are hoping for little or no Turbulence thank you for posting this Video
Did this flight 2 weeks ago. Agree with all your comments. We had an aircraft change to a smaller version of the 787 so did not get the seats we had booked. Gatwick is also a complete joke at baggage reclaim. It shouldn't take 1hr 45m from landing to arriving at your car in the car park. Melbourne airport on the other hand was excellent.
Another great vlog Jamie, i am such a plane geek so i found it all very interesting. I also like airline food too but that meal looked awful and what a sugar filled breakfast! I felt sorry for you and Maffoo 😞
When we went tui/marella our flights were delayed both ways to and from birmingham uk 1.30min hours going out 5 hours delay coming back ,seems tui have a problem sticking to advertised time of flight s.
We’ve had those seats before, thought they were good. No one behind you kicking your seat or grabbing your headrest when they get up. Not too noisy or busy, would definitely go for them again if available. As usual enjoyed the vlog, keep them coming please, thank you 😊
I flew on the TUI Dreamliner to Barbados earlier this year but paid for premium. It was a fabulous flight and I was really impressed with the aircraft and the service. Will be doing it in reverse when I get off my transatlantic repositioning cruise in November. I so agree with you about sugary stuff being dressed up as healthy. Give me a pot of plain natural yogurt any day over its processed, sugary counterpart. Did you have to check in your own luggage at Melbourne airport, or did you leave it outside your cabin and collect it at Gatwick?
Thanks for another brilliant flight review video Jamie 😍 We can definitely see the benefits of that seat location - when we flew back from Orlando in February we were about as far from the toilets as we could get, which sounds great until you need the loo when the drinks trolley is mooning down the aisle. The longest wait ever! It's a shame about the food though, aeroplane food is one of our favourite things about flying 😁 We've had a hectic few weeks so have a lot of your content to catch up on- luckily its the start of a bank holiday weekend 😀
@@TravelBlogJamie we're all good thanks 😊 Life and tech issues have just got in the way lately 😅 But a 3-day weekend is just the ticket! Loving all your updates by the way 😍

Another good video, correct me if I’m wrong but in 1 of your cruise vlogs you said you suffer from tinnitus? How do you get on with flying etc as I’m worried about flying with tts ‘temporary threshold shift (temporary tinnitus) thanks
Yes I have constant tinnitus which is aggravated a little (ie it’s more pronounced) when flying depending partly on engine noise level and cabin pressure. The dreamliner / newer planes affect me a little less though.
Thanks again Jamie..glad your seats were ok,apart from that, what a shame about the food,It looked awful too, shame on Tui..and when you've had a long wait at the airport, then a long flight,✈the last thing you want is more delays at your incoming airport! We flying on the Dreamliner next month, and sat near the back of the plane, but it's only a short flight to Palma,to board our ship,🛳😎
Great vlog as usual. I’m grumpy on travel days too, especially on the way back. Wasn’t it possible to just stay in Florida for your next trip? Or didn’t you want to? Thinking about future plans xx
Had it not been for delays and bad food all would have been fine: I actually enjoy flying but this experience was one of the poorest. Had to come home; I wouldn’t do extra flights for no reason
@TravelBlogJamie there is actually a wide variety of dining options just outside of Melbourne Airport. If facing a four hour delay, I would recommend a five minute Uber ride to get some sushi, pad thai, or linguini.
Thanks Jamie. Felt as though I was on the flight with you! Seats look ok but wouldn't have liked the wait or the food. You didn't look your happy self. Thanks for sharing though.
So it's possible to get a 787 out of Melbourne, FL! I'd only been getting 737s and Airbuses, but I was flying American to Charlotte and Delta to Atlanta. I'll have to fly direct to England sometime.
@@TravelBlogJamie fab, thanks, just changed our seats gof our return journey in October to them after watching this x was worried they didn't recline, but they do, so all is good x
Ha ha that dinging noise and you say 'whats that' 😂. Im permanently doing that, whats that sound like i think somethings going wrong all the time. I normally end up crying. Its rediculous 😂
I flew that same aircraft in November in premium to Punta Cana. Entertainment system was knackered and most of it deactivated barring a few films and to shows. Cabin crew said it was cause the flight was too full! Service was really poor compared to previous trips too. I would use TUI again but never premium again. Not worth it anymore.
Hey not so bad surely: #grumpyjamie cos he is going home after a nice holiday. But really, a good vlog and the flight seemed generally quiet, no crying from babies around. I have never sat right at the back of a plane but I don't like being near the loos. I personally don't like the very front seats as there is no forward view apart from a curtain or hard screen and I find that disconcerting. Shame about the food after all the lovely grub you have enjoyed during your cruise. But hey, be a #happyjamie as you said you are off on another adventure soon! Happy Holidays :)
There are definite advantages to having the last row, the main downside is being the last to get off the plane and be at the back of the immigration queue.
TUI into MLB - last off makes very little diffence at TSA - you collect luggage first then TSA - so the lottery is when your bags come out ! We've been thru MLB 3 or 4 times now and from aircraft to car rental has been 15 to 20 mins - much better system than MCO or SFB - return journey much the same. BTW last trip in April i was in 44A - excellent seat.
We have these seats for our upcoming holiday, we are worried that they don’t recline the same amount as the other seats. Would you please be able to confirm
You need an esta if you’re coming from the U.K. to America regardless of whether you cruise or not. It’s simple and quick. For people not eligible for an esta, they need a visa: that can take months
Nice aircraft, we were privileged to travel to and from the Maldives with BA. Have to say the staff were great, food was ok and for both journies we chose the two seats at the back and they were the best choice for us, no one behind close to loos but that wasnt a problem for us. The only problem we found was the stupid armrest which only folded half way up, how did the engineers get that passed, totally stupid, whilst the aisle seat armrest did fold up at all!!!! So for someone who may find it difficult to get in and out to use the facilities this is again totally stupid you have wonder sometimes what gets into to designers heads and those who sign off on their suggestions/work.
Yeahhhh I’m glad I’m not the only one!!! Does anyone actually know what they are? My only thoughts was that perhaps it’s when someone rings for help from the air hostesses?
Because it’s cheaper, fewer aircraft, usually far lighter lines than MCO and because they also operate their cruises from Port Canaveral which is about 40 mins from here
I have sat at the back before and loved it. I would actually pick them. 😊
Thinking the same!!
