Its never too late to join as a MH fan :D ill play with ya sometime if you need help. Its pretty daunting in the early game and trying to find a weapon that fits you. Monster's weapons all have different controls and playstyles and finding a weapon that suits you might take a while. For me the combat clicked with the Greatsword. Then I started using Lance, and charge blade. But I've used almost all the weapons. By the time you get to the end game you should feel really comfortable in whatever you choose.
But most importantly chose what you think is cool and fun :D
Biggest tip I can give is to play around with different weapons, if one’s not clicking for you another might. Also always eat before a quest.
1/3 of the all time peak of world was recently reached so, no you are not to late. Also the game releases on the last day of February so you got some time
@@seiviolette main tip is the game is separated into 3 main sections called ranks.
Low, high and master. Base game runs between low to high, and all the dlc in Iceborne is in master rank.
When it comes to low rank, dont worry too much about what skills you want from armor and just pick ones that look nice or may help you with a fight, putting together a set is difficult so you can save all that jazz for high-master rank as you'd need to make new armor anyway
Besides that on a general note, just enjoy the experience. Explore each section, fight the monsters a few times to get used to them, make new things and just try stuff out. No need to try and rush out to the end game just to get to where everyone is, the journey there is what matters on your enjoyment of the game ^^
@@DirewolfMementoI'm flailing around the idea of dual blades, but will have to mess around!
10 minutes is a fast hunt, just so you know. Most quests give you 50 minutes to hunt a monster, but you never really use that much time, but most hunts average on 20-25 minutes, depending on your skill, your weapon and if you're having help or not. The game does not hold your hand, but it does teach you everything you need to know.
Ahaha I figured as much! I just knew that I was watching a "short" battle!
@@Trollgernautt yep pretty much! When you get used to a monster and have decent gear, it can go by much faster
It usually matters more for hunts that require you to defeat multiple creatures that being able to do so quickly matters more, so getting that practice in helps tons ^^
it really takes a lot of practice to be good, my fastest for that ruiner nergi is 5mins for now with most weapons
it definitely doesn't teach you everything you should know, but it does teach most things.
15:00 yeah, DO NOT PICK DEFENDER, basically it changes the difficulty curve from 10-15-20-25-30-40-50 to 1-1-1-99-999-9999-9999999999999
I know it was touched on but i seriously dont reccomend defender armor. The idea of making the game easy is appealing but the issue lies in that it basically removes half the game. One of the parts of the monster hunter experience is seeing the new armor and weapons you can craft after every new monster you hunt, but if your using defender none of that matters.
Did you just kill a monster and now you can craft an awesome new weapon out of its parts? Too bad defender weapons are better. Did that monster unlock a beautiful armor set you love? Too bad defender armor is better and layered armor doesnt become a full thing until iceborne.
Framing defender gear as "making the game too easy" while correct is a bad way to put it because some people like easy, but the real downside of defender is removing half of the gameplay loop until you get to iceborne then throwing you into the deep end of that gameplay loop
To add to these very valid points, the defender gear makes the base game up to Iceborne so easy that monsters barely pose a real threat and can be brute forced a lot more.
While sounding nice on paper, it will horrifically backfire once the Iceborne monsters join the fray and brute forcing just won't work anymore. Playing normally and without the Defender gear is paramount to learn the gameplay basics of dodging and blocking.
@@SuperInu the amount of people who tried to let defender armor carry them through master rank just to be tossed around like a cheap ragdoll by barioth is excruciating
Yeah, the Defender armor and weapons are for people who already played World and want to speedrun to Iceborne. Otherwise they're the biggest mistake a new player could make.
this popped up in my recommendations - but it is never too late to play any game so long as it's still got a playerbase, and that World does!
as mentioned by others, the community is SUPER duper nice and people are always willing to help :]
You all seem super nice! I feel so welcomed!
@@seiviolette of course ! i look forward to seeing another hunter join our ranks o7
Wow I’m really early! But either way. It’s never too late! We hunters are always ready for new people, and are more than willingly to help out and provide tips!
Another good video to watch would be Punk Ducks videos on mhw, for more info.
I'm learning pretty fast that Monster Hunter fans are super kind and willing to help flailing newbies like me!!!
@@Kroq-gar I second this suggestion on Punk Duck.
@@seiviolette we all love seeing new players joining our ranks!
switchaxe main all the way, there's something so gratifying about being able to latch onto a monster and practically drill into it's head before exploding
@@thecratermaker a swax main in the wild o7
Monster Hunter Stories 1 and 2 are Spin off Turn based JRPG, kinda like pokemon where you and your monsties (the monster but cute) go into a adventure and save the day
recently the first game got a remaster too which is very nice 🐢
Oooh cute monsties! That sounds adorable!
@@seiviolette The word is cute. It's still a fully grown monster that you ride on the back of. XD They just call them monsties, which sounds cute.
@@dralakba-dusk31 that's the lovely thing about the series, the games all have vastly different styles to try
I wanna recommend watching Hey Jay's start on the monster hunter journey. He also wasn't much of a fan at the start but got a lot of support from the community! He's completed a bunch of MH games now!
Unlike the previous generations of monster hunter, gen 5 (World/Iceborne, Rise/Sunbreak) features a training area so you can get used to the weapon, one thing to note about the ranged weapons(Bow,Light and heavy bowguns) is that you still have to stay somewhat close to the monster to deal optimal damage, this is called critical range and it varies based on the ammunition you have selected, a crosshair will appear in the middle of your screen when aiming wich will get bigger and have a orange ring around it once you're in critical range. Another thing to note is that the ammunition is not infinite (unless you're in the training area) except for the base lvl1 normal shots that all bowguns have access to, ammunition will be listed in the weapon statistics when viewing the weapon from the equipment box or smithy(All ammunition for the weapon will also be available to you in the training area). Ammunition needs to be bought at the provisions stock pile or crafted via different plants that grow nuts and gunpowder, which is also bought from provisions. Yes, I am aware this looks like a lot, but this is generally basic information that all new hunters should learn
Its been said before by the famous yahtzee croshaw
"Your given a 50 minute timer on a hunt and thats not exactly as generous as it sounds"
it absolutely is as generous as it sounds, yahtzee is just bad
Note dark hero is at the end of the game it starts off much smaller and it teaches you as you go. Second note most hunters stick to one weapon so when/if you do start you should play around with weapons in the training area and figure out which one clicks with you
I love how welcoming the MH community is to new players. Ive been playing the series for so long now i forget how intimidating a lot of Monster Hunter's mechanics can feel overwhelming and the series can be intimidating to get into by just seeing some gameplay or having the basic concept ofnthe game explained. This game series is phenomenal and I can't wait for more people to get involved in it.
I started pretty recently myself, its never too late to start and honestly there is a long while before wilds so I would say give it a shot. World was my first monster hunter and is my absolute favourite not to mention, it is an amazing way to get used to the monster hunter gameplay and find your perfect weapon and playstyle. Plus the monster hunter community is extremely welcoming and more than happy to help a brand new hunter find their footing, me included. Looking forward to more of your content!
P.S Make sure you try out all the weapons. All of them are different and provide a completely different experience depending on what you use. One of the best parts of monster hunter for me personally
P.P.S Remember, there is no bad hunter, just one who either has not understood their weapon or they are using the wrong weapon. If one is too complicated for you, try something else or keep pushing through, the choice is upto you and in due time you will find your footing and become a truly skilled hunter
I'm noticing already how friendly you all are! So glad to hear that it's friendly for new players!
@@waiio8488That sounds a lot like me not reading tutorials properly xD
@@seiviolette You'll be fine, just hit them enough and you win just make sure you don't get hit too much yourself 🤣
Used to play it on PS4 years ago but might get the Steam version if you are gonna play on stream!
When playing these games it’s important to learn the monster’s patterns. They have small telltale signs of what they are about to do. Rathian will look over her shoulder before she tries to tail whip you for example so you need to watch for small signs. Also most people would like to see you solo a monster the first time you fight it so you can understand how it works before you fight it in a group, after you fight a monster once alone it’s pretty acceptable to group hunt it afterwards to grind out materials to make its armor or weapons
After more than 600 hours in MH World, here is some basic information I can give to you:
1. Try out all of the 14 different weapons before deciding which one you want to use. You get one of every type of weapon at the start, so you can try whatever you want. The weapon you choose will heavily impact how you experience the game so you should take the weapon that fits your play style best.
2. It seems to be a pattern that people usually only start to like MH the second time they try it. I startet with MH4 first and was really bad at it so I never played much. When MHW was released, I wanted to give the games another try and I instantly fell in love with it. I even started to replay MH4 and MHGU recently.
3. Don't use Defender Weapons or armour in your first playtrough. They are designed for experienced players who want to rush through the main game to play the Iceborne expansion so they make the game very trivial. Using them will result not only in you missing out on the entire main gameplay loop (fight a monster, craft new gear, fight bigger monster, repeat) you will also be absolutely overwhelmed by the much harder fights in Iceborne since you never had the chance to learn how to play the game properly.
4. If you struggle with a monster, start its mission and just try to dodge, don't attack it. This helps a lot in learning the monsters' movesets.
5. Try to focus on just one weapon after you found the right one for you. Trying to use multiple weapons at the same time takes a lot of resources to upgrade them and can make the game even more grindier than it already is.
6. If you have any further questions or problems with a certain monster, feel free to ask some more experienced players for help. As you can clearly see in this comment section we are always happy to help someone get into our favourite game series.
7. Most importantly have fun!
Never too late to join! The game is actually still going very strong on steam at least. It is my favorite franchise. Most games, including mh world have a slow start if you are new to the series (they don´t explain a lot) but once you get the gist of it it all feels very smooth. I have already seen great tips here so i am just gonna say that the most important thing, as someone who has played since the original game, is to stick to a weapon you like. There is no such thing has a "best weapon class", they are all viable, just different playstyles. My second tip? If the game starts to feel boring try another weapon! It will feel like a fresh start since now you have to learn different timings and search for different openings and stuff. Hope to see some gameplay soon!
One thing that can make my hunts "easier" is to know the monsters attacks : Some can spit fireball, fly, dig, rush towards you, swipe with their tail, etc... It seems like a lot to learn but since your gonna have to fight monsters multiple times, it's gonna come naturally. (Getting hit by attacks is also one way to learn 😅)
As much as they can be intimidating, they do have weaknesses, some monster parts are weaker and can be broken or some tails can be cut off, they can get tiered so they might be a bit sluggish, miss or stop attacking for a bit and even retreating to a different area or their nest...
Oh and don't hesitate to look for guides or ask for help if you need it, I've was help by strong hunters too just as much as i help weaker ones.
Dude i literally didn't know how to use most of the MAIN mechanics of the game until like 200 hours and I was FINE.
Also if the idea of a long boss fight stresses you out, you can actually just straight up leave the fight to decompress and grab healing items and whatever you want.
There are actually natural breaks in the hunts where the monster will run to a new area, and you totally don't have to chase it. Just take your time, breathe, and don't stress yourself out
This sounds so much like my playstyle! I flail through everything lol
@@seiviolette Not just that, but you're *expected* not to immediately chase it because there will be a number of things you might want to do before engaging the monster again (for example, sharpening your weapon if you're using a melee weapon, using healing items, carving a tail if you've cut it off.)
The hunter notes are an in-game resource that is chock full of info that you can access at anytime in the menu. One of the best resources the hunter notes offers are weapon tutorials
Never too late "a hunter is a hunter even in a dream"
For weapon recommendations:
You said you want "far away pew-pew", the Bowguns are that. Light Bowgun (LBG) asks you to be smart about picking the right elements and status ammo, Heavy Bowgun (HBG) sacrifices mobility for extra-powerful shots and explosive ammo. They're both good... but I personally recommend two weapons to beginners: Sword & Sheild (SnS) or Greatsword (GS).
SnS can do everything: small fast hits, big meaty hits, slash and blunt damage, on-demand jump attacks... it's got it all. While it's not a true master of anything, it can do anything, at any time, and that means you can exploit every weakness a monster has as you master it.
GS is painfully slow, but very simple and jaw-droppingly powerful. This means you don't really have much to learn about the weapon: instead, you spend your time learning the _monsters_ which really are the stars of this game. It's pure dopamine to land a clean True Charge Slash and know your one hit did the same damage as three full combos from another weapon.
Big recommend, theres a reason world outsold every other capcom game. start now and youll finish just in time for MH:Wilds coming out February next year
I'm on a tight mission here! Sorry work, not quite partner yet but quitting to RUclips full time. Byeesee!
8:00 yeah, while it is better for you to go full custom with the meals, theres also just premade stuff from the chef that does a good enough job so you can just click that, watch a cutscene with a buncha cute cats, and get some your buffs
Hey just found your channel probably because i look up alot of MH because of the TGS and the reactions to Wilds. I have about 2k hours on World 400 of them in the latest save i made a few month ago when i started a new playthrough after the first Wilds trailer earlier this year. I think you have more than enough time to play through it until february when Wilds is released. The community is still alive and well you will find people to join and grind stuff very easy on PS5 so i guess it is even better on PC. Dont be afraid to stumble weapons/monster behaviour/handling of items is all meant to be learned by progressing through the game. The game mechanics do not appeal to everyone but i would recommend to give it a try.
"I feel intimidated! I feel super intimidated!"
Good! Hold onto that feeling with one hand, and hold onto the knowledge that you can _do this_ with the other, and you have the core of Monster Hunter. Seeing a new, towering challenge blotting out the sun, then strapping on your tools and climbing that mountain until you stand at the very summit, knowing that you bested it with nothing more than determination. That's the 'Proof of a Hero.' 😉
The eating and prep work are all about making things slightly easier. There is usually a quick easy version that won't be quite as good.
Listen, as USMC Vet and 20 year Monster Hunter Series veteran, let me tell you my dear, it's never too late to learn and enjoy Monster Hunter.
I've trained 1000s of people over the 20 year's playing Monster Hunter, but
The greatest part about the new upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds, it's this will be the 1st Monster Hunter I will be training my 7 year old SON to be a MonsterHunter !!
Veteran's always love to help, I'm here for you, all you need to do is ask 😊
Your son is so lucky to have you train him! I grew up playing games with my dad and those are such precious memories to me!💗
@seiviolette See, their you go, you're right on the money. Hey, look, I'm not a RUclipsr or a live streamer, but if you ever need help, guidance, or anything, Monster Hunter, My Sword arm is yours, my lady.
Might be late to comment, but as someone who has played nearly every game in the series and has put over 10k hours into the franchise... I tell anyone who is interested in playing, to just play. No matter what tips or tricks we have or give, only you can determine if you enjoy the game. Just know that many hunters will happily help you once you take the plunge.
I have mained 7 or 8 of the 14 weapons at different points in time in world, and right now I am using gunlance again. The different weapon types are better at doing certain things.
TL;DR for the next part: you can look up a guide for this that will explain it better
As for the canteen explained very simply, basically you have 6 slots you can slot different ingredients in to make a meal. Different ingredient types (meat, fish, vegetables, and booze) do different things when put in combination with one another in terms of your buffs, and based on the color associated with the ingredient you choose, can give you a certain perk associated with it (like the slugger you mentioned), which go up to level 6. You can have either 3 level 2 perks (first perk unlocks) of different colors types, a level 4 perk of one color and a level 2 of another, or one single level 6 perk (all ingredients are the same color. Based on how fresh the ingredients are, is how you can go up to a max of +50 health and stamina through one meal, depending on what ingredients you choose at least.
You are going to feel overwhelmed by amount of things that is given to you in the beginning. Don't be. Take your time Collect everything you can grab. You will learn what each thing can do soon. Try different weapons! Each plays differently. One is not better than the other so you have plenty of opportunities to get a feel for each weapon. MHW still has a huge community of players still playing today. I have not stopped playing World but recently started playing MH Rise to keep me busy until MH Wilds. Also, watch RUclips videos and any other guides whenever you are feeling stuck. There's plenty of players that would love to help newbies get into the franchise!
Hope to see you out there soon Hunter!
Bat-thing's (Nargacuga) weakness is thunder. Each monster is weak to one or more specific elements like fire, thunder, water, ice or dragon. You will also do more damage depending on where you hit them, the head is the most common weakspot but there are some exceptions where the monster takes more damage on the tail, wings, legs or some special part of their anatomy. To learn this you must pay attention to the damage numbers after each hit and find out which body part is weaker.
Never too late. For any MonHun
In fact teaching MonHun is fun so I am sure most of your viewers would love to give you guidance and show off a little in hunts.
It's also important to try out every weapon to see what feels comfortable. The monsters are also supposed to be like animals, not bosses in a game.
Charge blade and hunting horn main, here. Don't choose those to start, lol. The ranged weapons can be very clunky, and ammo management can be another layer of complication for new players.
If you want to stay 'safe' while learning the game, I recommend the lance or gunlance, which let you turtle most of the early game monsters. If you'd rather learn a more dodge heavy playstyle, the dual blades are very forgiving with their attack animations and let you dodge quickly. If you find that you're dodging okay, but just can't hit the dang thing, you might try the longsword, with its sweeping, long reach attacks.
I tried starting with the Charge Blade because it looked cool, but got overwhelmed because I was also trying to learn the basics of the game. I switched to Great Sword and I was able to focus more on the monsters because the Great Sword moves are a lot simpler. Later on I learned Switch Axe, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Charge Blade, and Hammer. You can always learn a new weapon that interests you because the move set is based on equipment, you're not stuck with any one playstyle. Great Sword will always be my main though, I love the big numbers.
It took me a minute to learn the combat system, but now I just swap between almost every weapon pretty well, just to know more about everything.
So it's worth the investment, cuz even at 700+ hrs on one game, I still love it
Monster Hunter Stories is sort of like a Pokémon style RPG spin off with a rock-paper-scissors sort of combat, where you ride monsters as well as hunt some.
Just restarted mhw after quitting after completing base game years ago. its still worth it. First few hunts will take long as u understand the weapon and monster movements. Don't rush and you will have fun.
You should play it! I didn't think Id like it for mostly the same reasons you gave, (long hunt times, complicated looking and such)but now MH is my favorite franchise!
the best things about Monster Hunter World is just how deep the game is. This game has 14 different weapons that play completely differently from each other. So doesn't matter what your playstyle is the game will have it. Once you get over the beginning parts of the game and start to get better, the game becomes a canvas and you are the painter. Also, monsters don't have health bars.
I'm a Charge Blade main. I started with Dual Blades, then changed over pretty deep into my playthrough. Don't stress about picking a weapon. Grab one that feels right, and if you change your mind later on, switching over is pretty painless.
The food system *is* pretty complex, but it's far from necessary to engage with the complexity. Chef's Choice is an easy and legitimate option. I still use it for most hunts after 1600 hours on my main file.
Thanks for the tips! Chef's Choice it is xD
It’s not too hard to learn the mechanics of monster hunter. It’ll be easy to learn the flow of what to do before the hunt, what items to bring and what are the weaknesses of the monsters. The only thing I think that will be hard for new players is to find the most compatible weapon for you and learning the optimal combos. But the general things to learn isn’t hard to remember
It’s never too late for any game, pick a popular weapon for you, play the game for a bit, and once’s you’re further along, try the other weapons. A hunters Main is almost never the first weapon they chose; speaking as a 3G great sword and bow rookie turned Hammer/sidestep lance main by the end of 4G.
And as others have said, don’t use the rookie armor or weapons, get used to the grind of making sets, and use those grinds to try out other playstyles/weapons.
I recommend trying each weapon type for 2 or 3 hunts or doing an expedition mode for an hour to get a proper feel for the combos and handling
Thanks for the advice! It wouldn't have occured to me to try each weapon for so many hunts!
@@seiviolette it's my preferred method to train in games since the rewards give an incentive to learn
Good luck with the hunting
For you on the weapon front, bowguns might feel the most natural to you, since you like having the range.
Light bowgun is a good choice as it gives you good mobility while still being able to attack, where the heavy bowgun does more damage but makes you slower. However, you may wanna consider trying the bow as well, it has the range but also pretty good movement so you can avoid attacks more easily, plus you dont need to worry about ammo as much for it
As ya saw, trying each one out in the training area for a few minutes each to get a feel can help yoy decide, and you dont need to commit to one once you pick! Your preference might change so just have fun trying them out and find weapons you like! Most players can use more than one and have more than one fave weapon
Yeah the light bowgun was what I was thinking, but the... hmm.. dual blades maybe they were called... they looked good too! But I'd have to get close OH NO. I can see my face getting chomped off now. XD
@@seiviolette you could look into the insect glaive too, as it has aerial moves to let you jump over monsters and stuff
Again, you'll only know what style you like once you get a feel of them for sure! Seeing and trying it yourself give you vastly different opinions on it after all
Its never too late to hop into Monster Hunter, the community will welcome you with open arms
i was playing since monster hunter 3 portable , and it's really Ez and feel better now compared to before, i say just go in look at whatever weapon you see yourself to be cooler with (heavy bowgun, and dual blades for me) and you dont really have to change
main one weapon that you really really like and give you that.. (i am dancing with this monster) feeling and stick to it in every game!
most fights gonna take 7 to 10 minutes, keep in mind you'll be sharpening or the monster will just keep running away, so it's fiiine :D.. sometims you'll be lucky and that fight will be one sided to your favor and you'll end it in 5 minutes
As a great enjoyer of monster hunter newbies i will check in a month to see your journey through my favorite franchise
Tip: if you want the authentic experience of creating better armor and making builds use the leather armor. You can use the defender armor but the monster hunters core gameplay will be lessened at the start
Leather armor? Got it! I'm going to watch another video to give me some starting tips so will be sure to pay attention to armor info! Thank you!
You got till march next year to jump in, because Wilds is going to show up and the World's player base is going to shrink significantly. It is still a lot of time to complete all of the story missions and sieges if you like it.
Watch me turn into a full completionist after all this xD
sometimes when you hunt a monster it's on an expedition so theres no timer. it once took me almost two hours to kill a certain monster on on of those story expeditions
It's never too late, jump on in we can always use more new hunters 😁❤️
It's not too late and trust me. You're not not the only one who struggled in the beginning, a lot of us did at the start. And this game is brutal, especially in the endgame. But as we kept playing, we got better and better. You'll start to know and predict the monsters moves. And it's so satisfying in it happens. I say give it a go!
Fingers crossed! It's comforting to know I'm not the only one!
Been playing MonHun since 2005, when it first came out in Europe.
Best advice I can give you about this game is have fun, learn the enemies attack patterns and don't follow the meta.
It is never too late to play a game (except for live service games). I joined monster hunter not too long before the “return to world” event and I have been having a great time (1584 hrs)
The "right" meal for any given hunt is either all meat for a big attack buff, all veggies for a big elemental defense buff, or all drinks for one free faint in the hunt, everything else is involved is pretty much just micromanaging
Also, 10 minutes is a pretty normal time with endgame gear XD I'm happy to get under 15 minutes for an average hunt
Thanks for the tips! I'll try to remember that when I'm crying over what to eat!
@@seiviolette You can always just go with the Chef's Choice platter, where they only give you the freshest ingredients :3
One of my personal tips is that don’t prioritize your attack over your defense and what i mean by that is for example your fighting a rathalos with a weapon that has 300 raw and 60 element but your defence is like 150 you going to die alot this wont matter early and kinda wont matter mid but really matters end game and really really matters when you start master rank
That's pretty much a mistake I would make! Thank you do much for the tip!
In short. Its never tzoo late to play Monster Hunter World/Iceborn. The Game is absolutly amazing. A little tough to get into but its so much fun if you give it a genuin shot its is really one of the greates games out there. I went into it and expected to put like 70 to 80 hours into it. I have over 200 hours on record now and beat all "main" quest line bosses. But as others will tell you thats just the tip of the Iceberg. There is so much you can do in this game and its all incredibly fun. If you hit a Wall then very often you can optimize your gear and farm lower tier monsters to make the fight easier. or you can beat your head against said wall and finish it by just getting so much better. This game is a absolut gem
Beating my head against the wall sounds familiar! Though I'd definitely be a fan of farming lower tier monsters!
Problem with Defender Gear is it doesn't scale into end game. It's designed to purposefully overpowered for people _replaying_ the base game so they can speed through the stuff they've already seen and get to the newer content in Iceborne, it was not made with new players in mind. It being available to new players is one of the biggest screw ups they had honestly. If you use the Defender stuff for your first play through you are going to get your behind absolutely destroyed once you get to Iceborne because you won't have the experience to fight properly which the game expects you to have at that point.
Essentially it's a crutch and the game _will_ take it away right when things start to get truly challenging and at that point your choices will be throw yourself into the wall you've unintentionally created for yourself until you actually learn everything you already would have if you didn't use Defender gear or give up.
MH's menues are incredibly overwhelming. But the game's curve eases you in so much that you can mostly get by for almost all of the game by just crafting new weapons and armor with bigger numbers and calling it a day
By the time all the minute skills and buffs and other little maximizations start to matter you are like 10 hours into the game and hopefuly can undestand the menues themselves a bit more assuming you've tried to learn bit by bit on the way here.
Just as the others said it definitely not too late to jump into the Monster Hunter franchise (or MonHun for short), when it comes to your view about weapons I’ll say that it’s a pretty good view. Pick a weapon that you vibe with best and you will get good, though I will say that the skill ceiling is STUPIDLY HIGH. The difference between a noob and a veteran is shown when they fight, the veterans know the monsters moves and the best can beat them without getting hit once.
I've only played world since launch and I have almost 14,000 hours...I kinda like it
The number one tip is to change the settings to turn off auto sheathe.
The farm isn’t really a farm, it’s just a menu. They should bring back the farm from Freedom Unite.
GIVE ME A REAL FARM! XD❤
If I may make a suggestion for a react, you should check out Punk Duck's 'How To Monster Hunter' video. It goes over some of the best parts of why people like the Monster Hunter series.
I mean… if you're okay when the community is playing the new title while you're in the previous.
*_Welcome 〜 ♥_*
Of course there's still people to play with.
But as a streamer, it's probably better to stream the new one coming in Feb 2025 when it's fresh 🙃
Or.... do both? XD
You should definitely try it you have a community it’ll be way more fun with people I didn’t get into a community until I hit the final boss of the entire game and came to find out I missed out on being friends making them and just enjoyed the final months before everyone switched to other games they still ask to play and I hop on the friends I made became eternal it’s fun go for it
There does seem to be a developing community already here and I haven’t even started! I'm a little excited!
I was doing a new monster recently in the dlc and it took me quite a while to finally defeat them, had to resort to using the faster method of capturing them as i was gonna time out
To give you an idea how long hunts can take sometimes when you are learning how to fight new harder ones, that quest gave me 50 minutes, i completed it in just shy of 42 minutes
It's definitely a fun game and hella satisfying to defeat each new monster you face, even if it may take you a few tries even
42min fight omg I would be crying that I might die xD
@@seiviolette you get better and faster with them with practice and upgrades, but this is just an idea of it when doing some of the later game ones for the first time. I'm no pro and still learning so yeah, definitely took me a bit to figure out how to defeat em.
Plus side is i didnt die once so that's nice
Never too late, give it a go! If you do, welcome to the fold Hunter!
Thank you so much for the kind welcome!
while its never too late, you will onle be able enjoy it for few months until wilds release
Is never to late to join the hunt. 😎👍
Also there’s a running joke within the Monster Hunter community about the “Factions” for the weapons themselves, each player typically uses 1 weapon as their main and will practically preach why their main is The Best. The more unhinged version of the joke is that those who preach their main weapon over others are more unhinged than Cult Recruiters…..ya that started before I joined the community so I don’t know when exactly it started.
Look all im saying
Is greatsword is the only weapon that hits 4 digit damage in world
an avarage fight without maxed out gear can take it from 20 to 40 minutes, easily
It's never too late to join the hunt. I am a completely blind hunter who is able to play a lot of the older generation games due to muscle memory, a screen reader, and taking advantage of sound design. TLDR had vision got in a monster hunter, slowly lost vision still continue to play monster hunter cause I'm a stubborn ass.
That's incredible! Being a stubborn ass pays off xD
Yes, play it NOW! If you do end up struggling with monster Hunter world then monster Hunter stories might be your starting on point.
Thanks for the advice! I'll check out stories too!
Never too late to get a new hunter in the ranks, especially another Fifth Fleeter, give it a good try and you will find a very addictive gameplay loop
Hey once you got the formula of the game, its all good. It might looks like a realtime combat but its not. Monster attacks, then you attack back and forth just like a turn based combat.
If you don't respect monster's turn, you get hit cuz you were naughty. make sure to make your attacks 'between' monster's attacks not with them.
People are still playing both MH games that are older *and* newer than World, it’s never too late to jump in.
The only MH ver I played was World but it has the most excellent visual on PC and endemic life in games, moreover, many weapons really easy to access even I was a newbie, hunts are amazing and bosses are something that you may find it challenging (not too hard that make you hard-stuck but it need your improvement in weapon skills and gears) 😆😆😆
I was looking at it on pc rather than ps5 just because of the extra sale, but people are telling me it'll be an overall better experience too!
@@seiviolette MHW do not have cross-platform play so PC and PS5 are not available to play together. My friends told me that PS5 is really good, easier to bind moves, change to position attack(sometime i (PC) landed a miss hit although i stood next to the monster), and some attack animation also vibrate your PS5 handle. On the contrary, PC with quality of life mods help you much (find stone to shoot monster, easier to see monster drops(this is important since you will need to craft armor & weapon), better visual on some dark maps or resources, level up all region instead of spending 1000 hours to grind each of them enough level to get what you need). It bases on you, but if you really want to enjoy the game, ask your viewers which one they play most, play on that platform, then they will help you :>
For picking a weapon it's rule of cool. Just search up weapon guides, get a feel of how long inputs are, and hit the training grounds. Write down notes of everything like how to craft items, what is a pouch vs all the items you have, what is a wishlist, and much more. I would suggest maybe figuring out a little at a time and then once you understand one thing hunt a monster. Just to put it in perspective the first 2 hours of hunting probably has 5-8 hours of information regarding how to use your weapons, inventory management, smithy, and much more. Now that sounds like a lot but when you play this game and get engrossed in it the hundreds of hours is nothing compared to the couple of hours of research. To put it in perspective Asmongold was amazing and breezed through the game and has about 150 total hours which is extremely fast. He still hasn't finished the game.
I have an idea of where I want to start.... soon mayhap! Thanks for the advice!
10 Minutes is fast for endgame gear. MH gives you a 50 minute time limit for a reason :D
50mins yiiiikes I would cry if I died after all that! XD
It's never too late to pick up a weapon
Monster Hunter is one of those franchises where almost everyone that ended up sinking hundreds of hours into it has had that point of "this game fucking sucks, I'm not playing this" but came back, tried it out a bit more, maybe tried out different weapons and ended up falling in love with the game.
Speaking of weapons, it's the biggest part of the game so make sure to try out all of them or until you find one that you like, it makes such a gigantic difference which weapon you use how you will enjoy the game in the end.
Weaknesses come in multiple varieties like elemental weaknesses, parts of a monster that take more damage (usually the head) or parts you can break/cut off to weaken the monsters attacks or make it act different.
Personally I am not a fan of World and prefer Rise, but for a first-timer World is probably the better introduction to the franchise and undoubtetly looks better.
Literally my friend. Got bored after couple hunt, give it a try again then he is hooked. He like MHW more than MHRS tho.
Baha that moment where you rage quit and cone back to it anyway!! I promise to try multiple weapons!
@@NaiHmeewill this be me?!
It's never too late to get into, if you need help just jump into any lobby, plenty of ppl would like to help out
It is never too late! :)
Welcome new hunter
It's a mostly single player experience, so it's definitely not too late
if you wanna see the game made to look easy, watch a speedrun. theres players who can finish boss monsters in under 2 minutes. sometimes under 1 minute
Iv been playing for about a month and im passed the point of the guardian set being useful I highly recommend not using it the game is not hard just take your time and see what the monster does. The LBG and HBG are your ranged options, idk but Iv been told bow is a pseudo melee weapon. As far as the bow guns go that’s what I use I love them I think hbg is a lot better you get lower mobility but your dodge gets you around the field surprisingly efficiently and you get better magazine sizes better recoil the ammo is pretty similar between the two categories but HBG just does it better for me if you would like actual tips just ask im loving this game
Thank you so much for the tips! I'll definitely try out the ranged weapons, but slash slash could be as fun as pew pew... if that makes sense xD
@@seiviolette if you do go melee I really like the hammer it’s deceptively mobile and you dish out loads of stun damage but if you want the most beginner friendly weapon in the game the sword and shield is really cool. One thing I wanna recommend is my play style, I have a HBG that specializes in spread ammo (a shotgun style ammo) with a shield. I pretty much draw all the monsters attention while standing right in front and just block all its attacks and lay down fire between blocks. It’s pretty easy and a bunch of fun.
It's never to late to hunt.
A bit of advice that will help you grow your channel. I dunno about on your end, or with headphones, but the videos you're watching are incredibly quiet compared to your voice. This wouldn't necessarily be a problem, but... I already turned the video to max and couldn't hear a word of the second video you reacted to.
@@outbreak21093 Thanks! I'll ask my editor about this one. I'm recording onto separate audio tracks so it should be an easy fix raising the volume of videos in the future!
If you want to get into MHW, Get into monster hunter. The struggle is trying to drop Monster Hunter. I recently found my Ps2, so, monster hunter(the og) is now on the menu. The community is also great.
Hard to drop an amazing experience :D
I am a insect glave user because i am not good at survival
Don't feel bad about how the cats are called.
They are not important.
Defender weapons and armor is a trap for beginners!
You think it will make the game easier, but in reality it will make the game more difficult for you because you won't learn important mechanics.
I strongly advise you not to use it!
don't use defender armor or weapons. They trivialize the game and you won't have to learn how to play. It will backfire on you once you can no longer use them to continue
It is never too late for anyone to get into Monster Hunter World.
Hehe maybe I'll give it a shot then! Watch this space!
Warning for ranged weapons since they allow you to stay away and offer high mobility (except Heavy Bowgun) to compensate for that, ranged hunters have less defense so even one hit is a lot more dangerous compared to the melee hunters.
Plus they are more high maintenance compared to other weapons. Like the bowguns have special ammos that do different things, like do element damage or are explosive, but those ammos aren't infinite so you gotta be careful when you use them.
Or Bow which is more effective (at least of your someone who cares for effectiveness) if it's elemental, but you have to then pick out a bow that is effective against the specific monster your hunting.
Also incase you don't realize cause I saw another reaction think Gunlance was a ranged weapon, it isn't it's a lance that can let out explosions with each poke.
Though this is just my perspective of them from someone who only has 1000+ hours on World/Iceborne, and I mostly play melee weapons since I just prefer beating the monster with a hammer. Like he said in the video, your a newcomer so pick whatever you like and experiment. Cause getting beaten up by the monsters is part of the experience.
Ohhh I had a dream of infinite ammo. Hmm maybe I should bonk monsters on the head then run for it? XD
@@seivioletteBow has infinite arrows but limited coatings, they're effects you can apply to your shots like power, poison, paralysis, sleep or explosive. After your coatings run out you can keep shooting indefinitely but the special effects will be gone, except for the bow's built-in element.
look at this circle ---> O
you are now going to play monster hunter
I suddenly feel compelled to play Monster Hunter. Weird. XD
there's no suck player in MH, they just havent found their main weapon yet
I hope I pick the right one!
