right now full deluxe edition is like -70% on steam get MH: Iceborne... it's a brilliant way to get to the MH, not easy but amazing game and you will be ready for wilds

Depends, if you want a game with a lot of monsters and older graphics. I suggest gu But if you want a more casual experience where you can get into it easily I suggest world and iceborne.
The main way to get strong in Monster Hunter is by crafting the monsters' weapons and armor, and upgrading them, but the real way to get strong is simply by knowing the creatures as a real-life hunter would, knowing the creature's patterns, you fight it better, you can kill the final boss with initial equipment, just by being a good hunter, and knowing how to identify the monster's patterns.
Definitely where I went wrong. I was just trying to get armor to get stronger and not really getting into the mind of the monster lol. I also think I wasn't playing the right weapons for my play style.
Big true, monsters usually have subtle cues before their different attacks like tail spin etc. so by recognizing those cues will help you in the fight much easier.
@@chromiumchng8976the amazing part is how reactive and alive the monsters feel and like any animal, they have weak points and biological functions and needs you can exploit if you know enough about them. Rule of thumb, if it glows, it’s gonna explode or you’re supposed to hit it
One of my favorite things about this franchise is that the monsters don’t just feel like monsters, but also animals in a living breathing ecosystem! CAPCOM knocks it out of the park once again.
I'm definitely tempted! I've seen a little of MH world and it looked great, but I assumed I'd be horrid at it. Then again I thought the same about Death Stranding and adored it in the end!
@@seiviolette we all started being awful at the game, suggestion, if you get it, take your time to try all the weapons in the training area to discovering what weapon you like and also take your time to understand all the mechanics, the monster etc etc MH community is pretty helpful with the rookie xD
The thing about Monster Hunter is that the character doesn't get stronger, YOU do. After fighting a certain monster multiple times or just by observing its moveset you start to learn how to counter it, when to dodge, when to get away and when to attack. MH is a skill based game where learning is your first priority, stronger armor and weapons sure help a LOT but your main strength is your ability to learn from every situation. You can equip the game's strongest gear and still get beaten quickly if you don't know what you're doing. At first the learning curve is quite steep, but after a few hours of hunting you'll be calling it one of the best games you've ever played.
Me + skill = ? I know, I need to learn and actually get better. Maybe there's hope for me yet. I keep comparing this to Death Stranding cause I just played it, but I think that's another game that suddenly just clicks gameplay wise and then it's on your best games ever list. Plus I want one of those cat companions I've already forgotten the name of arghh!
@@seiviolette MH doesn't click on the first time for most people who are not used to this kind of game, give it a second try and I'm sure you will end up loving it. The little cat companions are called Palicos

Probably grab it on PC yeah since I think the playerbase there got revitalized thanks to the hype from Wilds. Also it'll let ya play around with mods if you fancy that 😁
Just want to throw in my two cents and say most people don’t click with Monster Hunter on their first attempt. It’s a very deep game with lots of unwritten mechanics and techniques that can be difficult to break into. The developers are trying to make it more accessible with Wilds, and considering the international success and popularity of World I think they will succeed. Definitely give the series another try, and if you have a friend who already plays try to play and learn from them.
Maybe I just didn't give it enough of a try then? It's cheap enough now on steam that it may be worth a second look. Having a support system here is amazing too!
U basically do level up, but its kinda in ur mind AND ur gear If u like to stay far away and dance Bow is for u, Hunting Horn if u wanna play music too, but u'll be close up Don't worry about failing tho it's part of the experience xD
Best game I recommend is MH World and its dlc Iceborne. The game is the best experience for new players of the francise. Some tips I can give new people to the game is 1 find an weapon you like and just practice a bit. The game feels really janky when you first start so i recommend spending a couple of minutes in the training room to try out weapons, the sword and shield is really beginner friendly. 2, dont feel discourages if you die a couple of times or even fail the quest. It happen to even experienced hunters, just try again and lean from your mistakes. 3, feel free to ask for help. The MH hunter community is very friendly and willing to help you. Personally hunting with others is much more fun than hunting by yourself.

I'm a series beginner as well as I've only played World, but very much looking forward to it. Although I'm pretty worried about the performance so far! seems like it'll run poorly on consoles and requires high specs for pc
@@seiviolette It had some frame drops but only after big resource consuming actions and the graphics looked great, overall it looks pretty smooth and the frame rate can be polished since there's still 5 months to go until release
Well you can go give World a try, It is with a system most alike to Wild, It also gives you a powerful weapon and amour set from the start, (effectively a lv70 set) so you can focus on getting to know the game and my advice is to not do multi-player from the start, you can't really get to know the game when you are just being carried around, you know.
You are totally right! I learned nothing by being carried through it whatsoever! Gotta learn myself or I won't get anywhere. Prepare for excessive tears if I do try xD
I don't recommend people getting the defender starter set, because does exactly what you describe for multi-player and not learn the game and you do engage with half the content of the game
Consider your equipment your level, if you cant defeat a monster re-asess your approach, could you be using an element the monster is weaker to? could you improve your armor or skills to better compliment the hunt, should you pack different items.
I feel like my issue was that to get the armor I wanted involved defeating something I couldn't defeat and had to be carried through, which of course meant I didn't get any better at it! I'll definitely consider giving the series another shot though!
@@seiviolette The journey of many a starting hunter, I definitely struggled my way through my first entry, don't be discouraged though, a lot of veteran hunters are more than happy enough to help out, its such a good game series, always happy to see new players considering getting into it!
Its a great game. If you're interested in playing MHWilds you might want to try MHWorld first if you really like it. And now is the best time since its on sale.

MH world is really good if you wanna try wilds, the system and mechanics is almost the same as wilds , and getting iceborne dlc is a must

It's cheap on steam so I'm tempted! I can get it on either pc or ps5 but am told pc had more players?
