Ye, the I-56 is a good sub, I'm thinking about her or the S-189. Idk which is better for my defensive-passive game style, let me know if you know. I'm commenting here bc this is the only channel that post about subs and the ppl here know about them properly xd
Get the I- 59 and play it like a dd torp boat that can submerge. Do not be afraid to deck gun a weak target... or run away from a dd and shot him with it.
I like them both. Thanks for watching
@@normalguyofthenorth Thanks to you!! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks I appreciate that
I tend to use my subs as one of those fish that live attached to a shark. DDs Need to have the flexibility to be able to leave their BB/Cruiser group. Subs can fill that roll in a way that also compliments gunboat DDs especially ones without smoke like Tromp.
I love the I-56 so much! It still weirds me out to see that almost nobody uses the homing torpedos. It's a super pretty submarine and worth the money
I do with with dd..fire them around 7 and try to ping him twice. That dd will turn around and leave usually.
@@billblack831 it's also fun when at least two hit the Destroyer
I use homing torps when I need to bend them around land. Thanks for wartching
They said you couldn't shotgun effectively anymore... lol. That Vid for much of the time was "the hunt for Red Kersarge!"
Motto of I-56... "hold my beer". This sub if you play by cruiser rules even T10ers must respect.
Would love to see them stop messing around and give us the I-400... even less manoeuverablity and lethal torps.
Nerfs...right... but to be fair if not DDs are present it is just an invitation for any sub driver.
He not really shot gunning there.. At the ranges he was firing, He timed his torps shots well ( that is not a noob thing) .. He also was punished for that too with those charges so nothing was for free. I play this sub as well and usually fire torps from my side of the board and back the sub up if I have to too before disengaging to a new firing point. No one wants to come up the side where I am at and I rarely get hit due to that. I only do what he did when the DD's and SS's are gone and they usually turn and run when they see the walls of torps or they get killed. I stay a far as I can with that sub. The detect on that sub 6.4 or something like that so I get no closer then 7. It plays like a dd with forward torps tubes that can submerge and with the torp rules with subs, it can own a subs in close quarters and destroy a 1/2 strength dd with its deck gun running away from that dd if the captains place his shots well. That submarine torp rule move this sub to the top of the food chain as far as subs are concerns.
Ya she is still good. Thanks for watching
WG is clueless about dive time 2:18 for the IJN 56 is beyond acceptable.
wait till you see my review of here this week, I think I can make it work. Thanks for watching
About right what it takes to have a good game in subs is a cruiser that sits still after knowing your sitting 5km away , then shoots 30 torps a the same bb with no hits, until finally the bb forgets and drives strait long enough to get hit.
Yup pretty much...LOL. Thanks for watching
Damm. That was nice torp shot with the ca in the first 3 mins of the game..
It was nice. Thanks for watching
A fellow gamer is considering a prem sub, their choices have come to the I-56 or the S-189, as they don't have the steel for a Gato. Which would you recommend?
Do you wanna shotgun despite the changes (I-56), or do you wanna hunt subs (S-189)?
The S-189 torps take 60 secs to reload and the I 56 take 30 to 35 secs to reload. the S-189 move faster underwater and the I 56 is more like a dd that can submerge. the dumb fire torps are basically the same as far as range and dam-- they both hit for 16 or18k or something like that and the range is 12k or 13k. hope that helps. it depend on your play style. The S-189 is on one side of the coin and the I 56 is on the other side.
It really depends on your play style I'm aggressive in both boats. I'll be re reviewing them both next week so that might help you. Thanks for watching
@shepherdofmemories ty for making it plain by saying it's a sub hunter (S-189). I have that boat and have not understood it till you said that. I'm going to open the books again and take her out on that premise!
@@BarrettL1970 No problem bud. Happy to help.
I just got this along with Indianapolis because I watched the Nick Cage movie which was surprisingly good and well ended. Not many subs could fit the Kaiten ‘Manned’ torpedo. This sub was one of those and could’ve easily changed the course of the war had it sunk the Indy Before it delivered the nukes however if the Indy had its usual escort when it was sunk it’s almost 100% likely the I-56 would’ve never have gotten nearly as close as it did.
Ya that was weird to not escort it. Thanks for watching
I love how the Yorktown never thought to smoke himself…
Ya I agree. Thanks for watching
