that's interesting, i hear it as him talking about the difficulties of day to day life when dealing with trauma, "sometimes i slip and start to question if it was only in my mind" hes self reflecting before he delivers the line. the disappearing to me could also be a reference to disassociating, he may be losing himself in his grief from the initial loss. definitely been there before, love how it can easily mean both things. expert level lyricism.

This feels like it connects to leave this world behind!!!! The pace of the song changes at the end almost like he's on a journey to make it back home
I don't believe that's the case here. Although this is a good theory, it moreso feels like both "ANNIHILATED LOVE" and "DISAPPEAR" talk about the same two people. Let's say that "ANNIHILATED LOVE" is sung from the man's perspective in this relationship. (Gender doesn't really matter here, it's just easier to differentiate the two characters with something as simple as man and woman). The two lovers were great but something was happening during the course of their relationship. They were doing really well, but the woman doesn't have complete control over her emotions and sometimes can get too heated over the smallest things. I think "MANIFEST" is a really good prelude to this. The woman is constantly trying to express herself but isn't getting through so her attacks are getting bigger and bolder but she isn't getting across to the man. Eventually she goes too far in her quest but doesn't realize that she has, and ends up breaking him completely. Now every time she tries to express herself he just glazes over and begins to ignore her. He's decided to spend less time with her and do his own thing for a while. Here's where "DISAPPEAR" comes in. She's now starting to realize what had happened and is hating this. She wants the attention, passion, and love they once shared, but it's no longer there. Yes, they're still in a relationship, and things seem okay on the outside, but on the inside it feels completely different. I think that's what this song is about.

This song has brought me so much peace while I’m in a real rough place. Starset has never failed to make songs that affect my personal life and help me cope with depression for nearly five years. I can actually sleep and have happy thoughts now after the release of this album, and I never thought that music could do so much to help me. Thanks guys. You’ll always be my favorite band.
Wow what a voice. Apparently I will be seeing this band when I go see Breaking Benjamin may 13th. Can't wait !!!! This is my first time hearing starset . I'm impressed. Hope it's just as amazing live !!!!
This particular song is mourning for me. When you disappear from someone's life like this song describes, that shit never fully heals. You wall off that part of your heart and move on as best you can, trying not to bleed on everything,
The most disheartening song, but at least it gives me a semblance of feeling again from all the numbness. This song reminds me of all my good times with the ones I loved and cared for only for them to betray my feelings and cut me down. Ah yes those were the days. I just don't feel anything anymore. A constant numbness to such a degree that I can't be bothered to even care that it isn't normal. I'm married but feel nothing. I have a son yet still felt nothing. The only thing I can give them is try being a husband and father to the best of my ability. I hope that one day I can feel again for their sake and my own, but at the same time I wouldn't care if I felt anything again. But this song. For some reason is just so connecting to me. Thank you Starset for your brilliance in this masterful piece of art.
I found this just before my grandpa passed away.... Now there is an echo calling me...a shred of memory...a world that used to be us... I hope you and grandma are doing well up in the up above watching down on all of us...
It's really odd how every album has at least one Rebellion/call to humanity song, one disconnect/Depression/breakup song and one song about feeling great because of someone.
the rawness starting from "i did the math but it just dont add up" is just.... perfection its like the starlight acoustic, just tears into your soul. freaking beautiful
So how long, were you numb? 'Cause it was cold as ice And I keep saying that I'm okay with it But that's another lie The truth is I've been dying slowly But no, not you, you just turned to drift into the night A parting scene of apathy In an instant shift to a stone heart paired with empty eyes That stared right through mine I did the math but it just don't add up There's a whole world that used to be us Now there's an echo calling me Just a shred of memory Emptiness but there's still a shadow I catch a glimpse of someone I should know Hard to tell if you were ever here I disappear, disappear I disappear, disappear All is lost, slipped away Gone without a trace I sometimes wonder if it was real because All that's left seems fake like I'm trapped within a wrong dimension I tried so hard just to make you feel my pain If you had empathy you'd see I'd changed But like a ghost in your presence I dissipate I tried it all, it's all in vain I did the math but it just don't add up There's a whole world that used to be us Now there's an echo calling me Just a shred of memory Emptiness but there's still a shadow I catch a glimpse of someone I should know How to tell if you were ever here I disappear, disappear I disappear, disappear Sometimes I still slip and start to question if it was only in my mind It's hard to come to grips that you still exist when it feels just like you died So come on and all step right up and I'll perform a trick before your eyes I'll evaporate, gone without a trace, off the radar out of sight I did the math but it just don't add up There's a whole world that used to be us Now there's an echo calling me Just a shred of memory Emptiness but there's still a shadow I catch a glimpse of someone I should know How to tell if you were ever here I disappear, disappear I disappear, disappear
This song has the most feeling on the album. I love the most the part where he goes "I sometimes wonder if it was real, cause all that's left seems fake, like I'm trapped within a wrong dimension" but really also the part "It's hard to come to grips that you still exist when It feels just like you died" And the bridge with Evaporate... And the ending with detuned violins before the cinematic part. Ultimate feels
How does a band make the softest most melodic and heartfelt album ever, whilst the same time having their heaviest song ever onboard? -deevolution hits y’all. Love this album
"The truth is I've been dying slowly". I love this music, but yesterday this beginning hit me a lot, my heart isn't doing so well... thanks for all these wonderful albums
In a lucid state your presence near the higher I get the more I feel. there’s only you and now your here. A moment together feels a lifetime. But now I’ve come down and the suns come up you leave me here , you leave me here , disappear, disappear.
This song hit me hard because I can definitely relate to feeling like the person you knew never existed or died because they've changed and they now just pretend you never existed or that they ever loved you.. It hurts..
for all of my english speakers: “a song that really sunk into the soul, but as everyone says in the comments and in truth, you need to make a film and it will be very atmospheric, i think …”
Starset has been my favorite band for so long, their music has helped me a lot through my mental health issues especially over the past year. For awhile I wasn't sure how to feel about this song, but lately I've connected heavily to the lyrics on a deeply personal level. While I know there's probably a more literal and specific meaning behind the lyrics, personally, as a transgender person, I feel like the lyrics perfectly describe my relationship with dysphoria and my own body. It's become a comfort song.
This song is by far their most profound in every essence, the lyrics are so perfectly arranged that it can mean anything to anyone about any situation (like all their songs) this one hits me on an intimate level and makes me think of my brother who has lost himself to addiction and how different he has become since we were younger, he's an echo of who he used to be and it reminds me to keep that distance I've built for us now 💔 so many thanks to Dustin and Paul and im sorry i forget who else wrote this masterpiece 🖤
When a band is always showing in every album a lot of diversity, then their fans are used to that and never question the novelty they experiment. Groups like BringMeTheHorizon did Metal too much and so their community is too much used to that and doesnt accept their evolution. Kinda saddening but imo showing diversity since the start is a good choice
Man you really can't please everyone. Group doesn't change, people complain their sound is getting boring. Group changes, people complain it sounds too different to their usual stuff. I mean, even on the other tracks of Horizons you can find people complaining that this album just sounds the same as older ones (I don't agree obv).
Bmth evolved with every album, growing gradually over time into something more experimental, even though they were always experimental, and I love every single album they've put out.
@@vizz00 Yep, slow and progressive evolution. Experimental I can agree but still staying in the same genre. Experimentations were 25% of their albums now it's about 80% :)
This song is perfect, but it makes me cry every time. I know I've done things wrong, and I have regrets, but there were people I wish I could talk to one more time. But I just see them fading into dust within my mind, and I'm left behind. Amazing song, but hits just too close to home.
Saw them in San Antonio with my now ex-lady. She was pregnant with my first born son and it was an absolutely the best show I've ever been too. We are split now and this song hits really hard. It's insane how people can become strangers at the drop of a hat when you thought the world was all sunshine.
Emptiness but there still a shadow. I catch a glimpse of someone I should know. Hard to tell if you were ever here. I disappear. basically my life the past 4 years
This song made me bawl my eyes out when it first came out, and it still brings tears when I hear it. I've lived my teen years full of heartbreak and this song sort of feels like it in words.
Sounds like someone who got their heart broken by someone they loved He tried to get them to understand what he felt but… they don’t So now he hides from them to avoid that heartbreaking feeling of “Things will never be the same no matter what I do”
I have listened to this song on loop for the last week, it just stuck in my head, but I love the whole album!! good job Starset!! it is also the best birthday gift i could ask for!!!
Hearing this song so many times just never gets old and sounds more beautiful each time. But I do see it from a second perspective that fits alongside. Some lyrics of the song sound self-reflective, like looking in the mirror. Alchemy and Something Wicked hint at this as well. Alchemy is realization that something is off about one's body; Disappear is seeing someone who was once close/distancing from who you are and known to be; Something Wicked is the dread and results of that wrong feeling inside. Song lore is fun. Seeing how each song may tie into each other and the artist/band is enjoyable, so please keep that in mind if commenting.
Wow!!!!! Now i see disappear from another point of view, like you said, looking at the mirror. Thank you so much! Starset songs and lyrics can have so many points of view and all of them hit so hard
“So come one and all Step right up and I’ll Preform a trick before your eyes I evaporate Gone without a trace Off of radar out of sight” I don’t know why but these lyrics hit differently.

@@ultimatetrishbhatia yes yes yes that's true. Dustin's scream in everglow is like ammaaaziinnnggg
@@ultimatetrishbhatia Dream Theater: 👀
@@ultimatetrishbhatia 20 minutes would be bit to sing for just sayin
Tbh if they make a song named STARSET that song would define them, and if it's bad their whole image is gone
This isn't just music. This is art. This is poetry. This is therapy. This is healing. Great vibes.
Kinda the opposite of weird, but yeah.
Call to humanity: Devolution, Icarus, Dreamcatcher
Depression/Break up: Annihilated Love, Disappear, Alchemy(?)
Feels Great: Otherworldly, Symbiotic, Earthrise
Idk bout the rest
I almost cry to this song on the live. It's so chill yet so passionate... Shit, I've got no words to Starset, they already know how to do it
Seeing all these positive comments on songs from their new album is amazing. Really makes the fanbase feel like one loving community. ✊🏼
We can all be honest and say that this is the best track of this album
This song is just wonderfully sad
the rawness starting from "i did the math but it just dont add up" is just.... perfection
its like the starlight acoustic, just tears into your soul. freaking beautiful
So how long, were you numb?
'Cause it was cold as ice
And I keep saying that I'm okay with it
But that's another lie
The truth is I've been dying slowly
But no, not you, you just turned to drift into the night
A parting scene of apathy
In an instant shift to a stone heart paired with empty eyes
That stared right through mine
I did the math but it just don't add up
There's a whole world that used to be us
Now there's an echo calling me
Just a shred of memory
Emptiness but there's still a shadow
I catch a glimpse of someone I should know
Hard to tell if you were ever here
I disappear, disappear
I disappear, disappear
All is lost, slipped away
Gone without a trace
I sometimes wonder if it was real because
All that's left seems fake like I'm trapped within a wrong dimension
I tried so hard just to make you feel my pain
If you had empathy you'd see I'd changed
But like a ghost in your presence I dissipate
I tried it all, it's all in vain
I did the math but it just don't add up
There's a whole world that used to be us
Now there's an echo calling me
Just a shred of memory
Emptiness but there's still a shadow
I catch a glimpse of someone I should know
How to tell if you were ever here
I disappear, disappear
I disappear, disappear
Sometimes I still slip and start to question if it was only in my mind
It's hard to come to grips that you still exist when it feels just like you died
So come on and all step right up and I'll perform a trick before your eyes
I'll evaporate, gone without a trace, off the radar out of sight
I did the math but it just don't add up
There's a whole world that used to be us
Now there's an echo calling me
Just a shred of memory
Emptiness but there's still a shadow
I catch a glimpse of someone I should know
How to tell if you were ever here
I disappear, disappear
I disappear, disappear
You have lyrics but they are already on the video

How good is Starset?! By far the most underrated band I know.. Can not wait to see them again next year!
I don't get it . For me it is the best band ever. it seems so unrealistic to me bauce this connection I have to this band..it is beyond this world
This one moved me, I cried during the release 😭❤️🥰
Honestly, this is their best album. Amazing work, Starset.
All of their albums are masterpieces, and I hope it keeps getting better and better as their career continues
This is the band that I would lay outside and binge all there songs and look at the stars and forget about all my worries
This song comforts my unwilling mind to hope for my life.
The one that made me cry despite me not understanding 90% of the lyrics-
Oh my god same, i also almost cired while listening to ICARUS, beacause the beautifulness of the song just hit me so hard
It's because you can feel the sorrow in his voice.
This song has the most feeling on the album. I love the most the part where he goes "I sometimes wonder if it was real, cause all that's left seems fake, like I'm trapped within a wrong dimension" but really also the part "It's hard to come to grips that you still exist when It feels just like you died"
And the bridge with Evaporate...
And the ending with detuned violins before the cinematic part.
Ultimate feels
This gives me HUGE Breaking Bemjamin- Ashes of Eden vibes
Exactly what I thought wtf
Right
Ashes of Eden is such an amazing song.
Breaking Benjamin and Starset, best music bands ever!
Same
Feels like this whole song was written about my life...thanks for bringing me to tears, starset. Love you guys.
How does a band make the softest most melodic and heartfelt album ever, whilst the same time having their heaviest song ever onboard? -deevolution hits y’all.
Love this album
this is peak starset
"The truth is I've been dying slowly". I love this music, but yesterday this beginning hit me a lot, my heart isn't doing so well... thanks for all these wonderful albums
Starset isn't my favorite band
It's my favorite society.
Starset e suas músicas que tocam o coração e a alma, não vejo a hora de lançar um novo álbum, pq esse foi maravilhoso só teve música boa!
Verdade
Né!? A maioria das outras musicas me representam d+, eu ainda vou procurar a tradução dessas novas
Agr só daqui a dois anos, brother KSKSKSKKKKKK. Mas quem sabe o Dustin n lance um novo álbum pro MNQN

In a lucid state your presence near the higher I get the more I feel. there’s only you and now your here. A moment together feels a lifetime. But now I’ve come down and the suns come up you leave me here , you leave me here , disappear, disappear.
Os caras não erram, impressionante...
Eles não tem uma música ruim
This song hit me hard because I can definitely relate to feeling like the person you knew never existed or died because they've changed and they now just pretend you never existed or that they ever loved you..
It hurts..
Песня которая очень запала в душу, но как все говорят в комментариях и в правду вам нужно снять фильм и он будет очень атмосферным, как я думаю...
Из разряда космической тематики
@@ReyvXyd Да хоть какой-то бы)
for all of my english speakers: “a song that really sunk into the soul, but as everyone says in the comments and in truth, you need to make a film and it will be very atmospheric, i think …”
Согласен, фильм вышел бы загадочным как их большинство песен, про космос и всё с ним связанное
Я одна просто ржу со строчки "I did the math but it just don't add up"?
This is the most sadest😥😭 song of Starset. I cried when heard first time.
Starset is one of the few bands that can have me head-banging to heavy screams one moment to holding back tears the next.
Remains the most heart bending piece of music I have ever had the pleasure Eid hearing - Thankyou for my existential crisis
'i did the math but it just dont add up theres a whole world that used to be us' that part is awsome 🥺😍
Imagine being this lucky, to live at the same time as Starset
When a band is always showing in every album a lot of diversity, then their fans are used to that and never question the novelty they experiment. Groups like BringMeTheHorizon did Metal too much and so their community is too much used to that and doesnt accept their evolution. Kinda saddening but imo showing diversity since the start is a good choice
@Omar Yañez Zavala Same man, but their community is more close-minded than starset one, sadly
Man you really can't please everyone. Group doesn't change, people complain their sound is getting boring. Group changes, people complain it sounds too different to their usual stuff. I mean, even on the other tracks of Horizons you can find people complaining that this album just sounds the same as older ones (I don't agree obv).
@@shamsow Yeah exactly ! But starset community seems to be happy with their songs you know I dont feel like we all complain about starset songs :D
Need a hug?
Here's a virtual hug. Have a nice day!
god that chorus is magical
This might be the best track Starset has made to date. I'm gonna melt when they record an acoustic version.
The world isn't ready for an acoustic version of this song.
@@tardistrvlr05 im not even sure how I'd prepare myself to go on that feels trip
Stop it with the acustic version, iam already crying
Crying by 60 seconds on, this song lives in my heart rent free and has for years
My favorite from this album for sure
Dustin's vocals sound specially good in this track! I need to learn the lyrics and sing this song asap ✨
He has an incredible voice in harmony with the incredible acoustic
I’ve been a hardcore Starset fan ever since 2013 and I will continue to be a fan for a long while.
Saw them in San Antonio with my now ex-lady. She was pregnant with my first born son and it was an absolutely the best show I've ever been too. We are split now and this song hits really hard. It's insane how people can become strangers at the drop of a hat when you thought the world was all sunshine.
I'm not crying, you're crying!
I don't know how or why but I feel like every Starset album is better than the last one
It's like Starset sets their own records and they break them every time
Emptiness but there still a shadow. I catch a glimpse of someone I should know. Hard to tell if you were ever here. I disappear.
basically my life the past 4 years
There’s just something about this song that just makes me want to comeback
The lyrics and the logo make me think this is a reply to the bright-eyed wonder of Otherworldly.
I really don't know why Starset isn't the biggest band in the world. Epic songs, and great live!
easily the best song on the album
This and Annihilated Love hitting me in the feels right now.
if i had this song like 2 years ago. it would've been my anthem.
The ending sounds like a sad machine….i loveee this song
Guys, let's admit the Horizon's album clearly tops other albums by other artists by far. :)
Starset's clearly top 1
What an Amazing year we have a Masterpieces albums by STARSET & TRIVIUM!
Citizen Soldier came out with some great songs this year too
Sad songs are always the best
This song made me bawl my eyes out when it first came out, and it still brings tears when I hear it. I've lived my teen years full of heartbreak and this song sort of feels like it in words.
Now we just need starset to make a movie and my life will be complete
damn you really want them to make a movie
@@beesechurger9464 FUCK YEAH
@@beesechurger9464 I think most fans do. Including me.

Sounds like someone who got their heart broken by someone they loved
He tried to get them to understand what he felt but… they don’t
So now he hides from them to avoid that heartbreaking feeling of “Things will never be the same no matter what I do”
i absolutely LOVE that ending!
This reminds me of diving bell and I love it. ❤
Like a lonely child waiting to be noticed - don't worry, this song did not fall on deaf ears.😉🤗
Disappear is a masterpiece of a song that gets your emotions going ❤️
This song has one of my favourite bridges by them. Absolutely amazing
its been exactly one month. still gives me chills
I felt this way too close to my own life, loved it
This is it. This is Horizons #1 track for me.
Emptiness but there's still a shadow.
Going back to the life after covid, and listening this...like heaving ears anew
“So come one and all
Step right up and I’ll
Preform a trick before your eyes
I evaporate
Gone without a trace

I don’t know why but these lyrics hit differently.
Why are you crying its just a song
