Heres my honest overview of the movie-
I, personally, am extremely dissapointed with how this came out. The fans have been waiting 6 years for this, and this is all we have in return. This is what we get for waiting and being patient. I get that this was before the rewrite, and before Marc was kicked off the team and PiP took over. But this had so much more potential to it. Marc couldve gotten help with the jokes instead of working on them himself. Out of the entire movie, i didnt laugh once. But im 15, and i havent been in the eddsworld community in quite a while, so it could just be me. Eddsworld is geared towards 10-14 year olds, middle schoolers to be exact. Some people may find it funny and may find the movie good. But in my opinion, no, the movie wasnt funny at all. Especially the homophobic jokes. That was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. That was on Marc himself seeing how the current eddsworld crew has said multiple times that they are allies and support the LGBT community. Overall, with the jokes, they are incredibly dry and overused. A lot of them are just references from old eddisodes, and when the joke was actually original it was homophobic. Now, im not going to completely shit on the movie as there are some things I do like. That being how hard the crew worked on the movie, and at least attempted to give it good quality. Now I get that Marc Lovallo is a horrible person, and that is why he was kicked off the project. I'm sure that PiP and the current crew had an amazing movie in store, even though they had to cancel it, leaving us with the original Marc created. I admire the fact that the crew spent six whole years trying to at least construct a decent movie. They had good thoughts, and they had the eddsworld community in mind. Another thing that I really admire are the voice actors (excluding Matt's). The voices are extremely accurate and I honestly admire how much effort these people put into voicing their characters voice sounds. Edds voice is so accurate its scary. He sounds like his ORIGINAL self. Not Tim Hautekiet's voice, the ORIGINAL Edd. Tom, Paul, Eduardo, Jon and Mark's voices are so accurate and i love it. Thats what made it feel like an actual episode and not some cringy wattpad fanfiction in my opinion. Matt- i mean,,, He tried. At one point in the movie, his actual actor stepped in for a scene, and it felt like everyone was back together again. Then in the next scene, the other guy came back- overall, i would give this movie a solid 4/10. The writing and jokes are horrible, and is something that a 12 year old would publish on wattpad. I really like that he tried to put references in from old eddisodes, but it got to a point where it was too much and just seemed like a way to not make his own original jokes. But the voice acting (again, taking out the fake Matt's voice) was absolutely phenominal. Honestly, i feel like if the movie rewrite wouldnt have gotten cancelled, PiP and the crew wouldve had so much potential to make everything so much better and to make the movie so much likeable. But for now, we'll just have to deal with what we've got

Guys, come on. Don’t hate on this. This took a lot of time and effort to do and you must’ve enjoyed because you watched it till the end and explained it. So just admit it. THIS IS A REALLY GOOD MOVIE WITH HARD WORKING PEOPLE!

This was just not it. As an ex-Eddsworld fan I remember being super excited for the release of this movie back in 2018. Of course I eventually fell out of the fandom due to the toxicity I faced but still had respect for fan creators. Of course the allegations about Marc don't help this movie, all that aside it still wasn't enjoyable. For starters the pacing was extremely slow. It felt like a 30 second scene was 30 minutes. Second the sheer amount of random references was overdone. We get it, this is Eddsworld. The villain was cliché, along with the plot. And the homophobic jokes. The Eddsworld creators have made it clear they support the LGBTQ community so the see the sheer amount of homophobia was sickening. Especially as a starting joke for Matt. This felt more like a poorly done Wattpad fanfic, which is saying a lot because I've read better fanfic made by kids and teens than this movie.The voice acting was sub par, Edd's va was good I'll give them that. But the fact this took 6 years to develop, only to be canned is pathetic. 6 years they had time to develop this movie. 6 years they had to reflect on if it was a good idea to poke fun at a group of people who have been harassed and even killed for who they were 6 years only to take advantage of fans. If your an Eddsworld fan don't support this. Even though I'm no longer a fan, I still support Edd and his dream. Go support Matt Hargreeves and help him bring his friends legacy back to life. Help in getting rid of the toxicity that has spread throughout the community. Keep Edd Gould's world spinning and let his legacy live on in the most beautiful light it can.

Also, do remember this is all from before the rewrite, so a lot of the stuff Marc wanted wasn't there in the final version, as over time his role got smaller and smaller. From what has been said a lot of the bad things here were seemingly removed in the version we almost got, but as for details of that we'll most likely never know
Most of the crew does work for Eddsworld, as I've said previously. Luckily though, Marc isn't involved. He used to be a bit bac during Legacy, but thankfully Beyond is Marc free

Well, this was a thing at least.
Now, I'm a more recent Eddsworld fan compared to most people, having been a fan since 2017, which is also when I found out that this was being made, but that does NOT mean I wasn't disappointed by this movie. Because, wow was this hard to get through.
It baffles me that this draft of the movie took 5 years to make, because I can't honestly believe that nobody in the production of this movie in that amount of time looked at this and said: 'Is this really good enough?'. I feel EXTREMLY sorry to those that have been waiting longer than me for this movie to be made. No wonder this was going to be rewritten, because where do I begin?
I know, the voice actors. While I will admit not all of the voices are bad, the voices for the original characters are pretty decent, but it's just the voices of the Eddsworld characters that I have a problem with. Let's start with the good ones, Edd's voice is easily the best and sounds identical to his original voice. And, THAT'S IT, Edd's voice is the only good replacement voice out of all the Eddsworld characters, actually, I take that back, Tom and Eduardo's are okay, they sound kind of off, but they're acceptable enough. But everyone else, especially Matt's, sound really bad. In spite of all this, the voice acting is honestly the least of this movie's problems.
The comedy is VERY lackluster. Literally 80% of the movie's jokes are taking directly from the original series, and they're not even executed differently at all. I didn't laugh ONCE during this entire 66 minute movie. I only barely cracked a smile a couple times, which is really, REALLY, *REALLY* bad for a comedy movie. Don't even get me started on the homophobia jokes. They made me feel really uncomfortable watching the movie and are not what you would expect out of Eddsworld.
What's also really bad for a comedy movie, and also for an Eddsworld movie, is this needless drama subplot between the main characters. Would this really be something you would expect out of Eddsworld? Now, it is possible to put drama in a comedy movie, but why in Eddsworld? It seems so out of place, much like the homophobic jokes. And it's not even effective drama, it's feels more mellow dramatic than actually tear jerking.
Also, the pacing is another thing that really killed my enjoyment of this movie. It's so slow. I don't know if it's the lack of music most of the time or the really slow nature of the story, but it ultimately made this an extremely unentertaining and unenjoyable movie.
And all this leads to my biggest problem with the movie, it's boring. With the cliché as hell plot, generic villain, on top of what I said earlier about the unfunny comedy, slow pacing, glaring plot holes and needless drama. The reason this is the biggest problem with the movie is because honestly, an Eddsworld movie could've worked so well. With a better written story, original jokes, quicker pacing, better voice actors and no pointless drama, we could've gotten a really fun movie. But instead, we got this mess.
Thank god Marc was kicked off of the movie, because there was something in an Eddsworld movie, and I REALLY feel sorry for the rest of the crew who had to work on this movie, because I can tell they were trying their absolute best with this movie to make it somewhat good, only they were given a mediocre script unfortunately.
And admittedly, there are some positives with this movie. Like I said before, some of the voice acting is decent, I can tell the people working on this movie really understand the source material with all the references, if only 85% of them weren't wasted on the dreadful humor, and finally, the animated stuff we did see in this animatic (3:38, 52:02, 53:09) looks really good.
It really is a shame the movie is cancelled, because I'm really interested to find out what PiP's rewrite of the movie is like, hopefully it would've been better than this mess of a first draft.
If I have to give this movie a rating, I honestly have to give it a 3.3/10, D. I would say at best, this movie is below-average, and at worst, a *HUGE* disappointment.

The funniest part of the movie was 4:44.

Not only is it just a funny thing for a milkman to say, but it better fits into the type of comedy Eddsworld is known for.

60% of the jokes here are recycled from the original show. There is some originality here and there, the president for example actually looks like he came from a eddisode, but this is all I thought it was good. There is a lot of tracing on the animatic here and there, they were probably NOT doing this in the polished version, but I heard it was cancelled (that really sucks because this movie had a lot of potential to improve). And the plot? Eeeehhhh, it's something you would see in a fanfi- oh wait

What matt said at 58:02 is false if you are a fan you'll know that the edds world characters enlisted at the england military and the instructor they had was Sargent Hilarson or as we know him Hilary sooo watch moving targets so you'll get the reference meaning that he got weaponery training and building but also destroying AN ENTIRE ENEMY BASE WITH A TANK with the guys (tord tom and edd) meaning he knows how to use and operate a weapon sucessfuly

@@luckynevx I decided to email her about this whole situation and she was not aware of this movie development and Marc stopped contacting her altogether btw.
She volunteered to play the character that is the female scientist you hear in the animatic her name is Anna in the script.
In fact, we have to do a major recasting on the voice acting around 2018 due to Marc losing majority of the contact info for the voice actors.
That includes the female scientist, Private Martin, a lot of the extra voice actors you heard in the movie, President Mone, much more.
Only General McCoy, Tom, Edd, Commander Bai, Paul, Jon, Eduardo, Mark, respective VAs were kept.
It has something to do with Marc not keeping up with his contacts too well.
The main factor that the recasting did in fact affected the development of the voice actors we have on the movie.
Yeah we have to use discord for auditions since PIP did not want to use a casting website and it result of pretty poor quality auditions sadly.
Adox recorded these lines likely around 2014 or 2015, from what i heard in our email and she sadly don't remember much of doing the movie.
She remember only recording on the scripts based on Marc version of course and that was it.

I honestly am very confused on why the movie was so dark. I mean, ya got war, death, gun and chaos ._.
I mean, this is like its a different version of eddsworld. I get that its a fan movie and I found it fine but like, its so dark. Edd would've gotten shot, the aliens being planned on dying, this is just really weird to choose for an eddsworld related movie. Its just really dark and it just doesnt feel like its eddsworld. Aside all that, I find the movie fine but all I've been saying is that its dark.
You get the point. We did wait a long time for something of the fan movie to come out and for me, it just came out really dark, chaotic, very...not eddsworld. But everyone has their opinions and this is just mine. It was somewhat well made and it was fun to watch. I understand it was worked hard on, and I can appreciate that. I would appreciate it a bit more if it wasnt that dark but either way, at least we got an animatic of the movie, and that I can appreciate.

Ok, the thing about this is that the movie is basically homophobic, Eddsworld is supposed to be humorous and funny..not included sexual preferences, and homophobia. It was also very dramatic, all of the scenes were pushed over the edge and it just made the whole thing seem a bit crappy. Also the ship scenes between Paul and Edd/Eduardo were so out of character..the kind of ruin the whole “ Eddsworld originality ”. Plus this might make paul feel uncomfortable like the Paultrick ship thing..and Ik he’s not apart of Eddsworld anymore, but it can still affect him. Please fix this.

I am letting you know that Paul did not mind us using his likeness in the movie and this was before when he decided that he no longer wants to be associated with the show anymore.
This was made around 2018 by the way, also Marc was not too keen of shipping either but this scene kinda makes it feel like he does ship these guys alone.
I am letting you know, that Paul was no longer in PIP rewrite either and instead he was replaced by Doug in his version as a response of Paul no longer wanting to be part of eddsworld.
Either way, we never liked this version of the movie and somehow it got leaked to the public nowadays.
I've just finished watching this and I only laughed four times. This feels like a mix of the south park movie (with the two countries going to war aspect) and an hour long eddisode. One of the reasons why Eddsworld worked so well as a webtoon was that it contained one off stories that were only made to humour you.Edd rarely cared about continuity, this is shown the most in early eddisodes when he would often kill off the main characters. This is why making an eddsworld movie specifically with a dramatic story set place wouldn't work.
Another problem I see with this is that the boys are given too much focus. With minor exceptions in eddisodes, none of them were a story driver or a 'special/chosen one'. One of the most notorious things about british comedy is that most of the main characters featured in our movies are depressed generic losers (for the lack of a better description).
I could see a version of this movie where in the event the boys get caught up in genral mcoys plans, a key item (tomee bear/susan, edds lucky can) is stolen, and when genral mcoy interviews them, said item is all they care about (similar to the south park episode 'Towlie')..
Edd didnt cared about contunuity because at first Eddsworld was just a bunch of silly little animations but when it became something bigger he cared for continuity but unfortunately he didnt have time to apply his plans so i think you can make a dramatic Eddsworld story but what you said is kinda true too fully drama could be weird in Eddsworld too The End episodes had the perfect examples of how to make dramatic episodes in Eddsworld to me (tho those episodes have a lot of flaws since they are kinda rushed but still they are good 👌🏼)

If you would have showed me this a few years back in middle school, I would have said that this was the best thing ever. This movie isn’t very good, most of the joke are either reused from Eddsworld or just not funny. The guys do pretty much nothing and things just sorta happen to them. I’m glad this project got canceled, it saved my middle school self the trouble.
Yea but this was the first project for the movie. They re-writed and did all the script again. I guess the new movie could've been better, but we'll never know :(

I've finished watching it and here are my thoughts.
This Film shouldn't be about Eddsworld with the Plot. The style didn't fit making way too much Clichés and having story arc doesn't fit it. Eddsworld it something that wasn't deep even The End wasn't deep to be consider a Story. They should've did the Film that's isn't connected to Eddsworld. The Jokes was Reused too Much for a Fan Project that is a Love Letter to the show in my Opinion, barely Original Ones. I get it that it basically a huge Loveletter but it's just make it look like a Copy Product that isn't Official.
Dialog was Cheesy. Jokes weren't Funny. Huge Story Plot Holes left like who the hell was the Person in the Jet During The Bazooka Fire? Tord? Also about Tord, It was a bad idea putting Patryck Paul and Tord into the Film. they are Based off Real People that are no longer part of the show anymore, especially Tord. Marc should've hired a Script Writer and Direct It Better.
Also yes I'm aware this is one of the versions of the Film.
The things i like about the Film is General Mcoy and Martin Voice Actors They did the Roles Amazingly.
Overall a 4/10. They could've done this with Original Characters or based off one of their Shows like Billy Toons Time. I'm happy they would rework this Project to something Different in the Future that is not affiliated with Eddsworld.

Paul's army or whatever he works at comes to help they fight with the military and then the aliens join and somehow Ed Matt and Tom get through with the aliens that It was the the General's fault that Capturing the aliens happen. so the aliens physically removed the general from his recruits by probably killing him and making someone worthy of the General's roll. then the boys go back to their lives, rebuild their house, Tom and Matt getting closer and understanding of each other , and Ed helping Matt and Tom get most likely Tom working at somewhere that gives him a chance not to drink maybe like a animal shelter and Matt a place for him to have fun probably working at a daycare, and every now and then they all visit Paul's gravestone
For the people complaining, this was before re-writing the script so, I’m guessing the new script will be a lot better

Upon finishing the video... I'm not entirely sure how to feel. Edd felt a little out of character every time he brought up jobs and money. Matt just had no character to speak of. Tom was fine, I guess, but it did feel like something was... Off, somehow.
The idea is a little weird though. Official episodes, for the most part, is just Tom, Edd, Matt, and occasionally Tord just hanging out, having fun, and accidentally saving the world or at least their house in their antics.
