Wow, hej på Er!!!! You're soo admirable! Learning a new language when you're adult is a challenge for sure. Sure it's a benefit to learn before arrival, but you will get there, no worries. Oh yes there are quite some dialects as I have heard (similar in the Netherlands), but as we learn the move middle of Sweden dialects we have to stay here now 🤪🤣🤣 Have a great week!
Hi Guy, I am impressed by your serious and honest try to learn Swedish. I am sure you will manage it all right over time but understand that it takes time. I recognice your struggle in my own son. We are Swedish but after he met a Finnish girl they moved to Finland. He was in a school learning ”Finnish for Immigrants” the first years. Today both of them have a job and they have a little son. They try to not speak english at home, just swedish and finnish. And my son manage to understand and communicate in Finnish in the society, social and work activities. So be patient, it will come. One more advice. They lived in Uleåborg (far north of Finland) the first years, but now they live in Helsinki. It was much easier for my son to find a job in Helsinki. The labourmarket is broader and demand various skills in a big city. So maybe it is a good idea to try to find a job in a Stockholm based company, with interests in Norrland. And you can work on distance from Sollefteå. Wish you and your girlfriend all happiness and good luck! 🍀🍀🍀☀️
If we want to continue to build a life here we need to! And for me personally I want to learn it, just because people here speak Swedish and I can’t ask them to change there language for me 😊 Yeah Finland is also something different and maybe more difficult 🤔 So good he has learned it and get around now there 😃👍🏼 That’s definitely a possibility, but I don’t like the computer that much for work.. so I don’t know if that’s something for me haha. But for now the work I do is fine 😊 Thanks for sharing your thoughts though 🙏🏼
@ yeah the Finnish language is said being the second hardest language to learn after chinese. 😅 But I will try to do a course anyway, so i can manage some social talk with my grand son and my sons girfriends family in Finnish. Oh, I did not mean that you should change working on a computer at the desk. I was thinking of companies (or authorities or universities) that are working with forest issues. And have interest in your practical skills on place i the north. 😊 But it is great to hear that you have got a lot of work to be done on the trail. 🙋♀️
Hi from Finland! Thank you for another beautiful and interesting video. Happily swedish (my mothertongue) and dutch aren't too far apart and share many words. Think if you had chosen to move to Finland and been faced with the finnish language 😱. Kämpa på, det blir nog bra! 😀
Yeah but still there are quite some differences with pronouncing words as the letters are used in different sounds. Some letter combinations also are really different haha. Yeah Finnish is next level 🙃🤪 Thanks for your comment 😊

Keep it up! You got this! You would've had struggles anywhere you moved to, so at least you have to overcome all of this for something really special in return, right? And by the sounds of it, your Swedish is going great! I just hope we'd be able to join you and the community there at some point, as it looks amazing. We're just packed with anxieties right now haha! The biggest one being that it will be really tough for us to find work there that would be enough to live off of. From what I gathered from this week's video, I get that we should better start learning our Swedish as soon as possible if we plan to stay somewhere in the countryside, especially the further away we go from Stockholm, right? Or would English be enough to get by in the beginning? Thanks for documenting your journey here and on instagram. Love looking at the pics you post on there!
Thank you! 🙏🏼 Yes learn as much Swedish as possible before you come. Of course people here also speak English, but if you look for a job where you have to work with other (local) people I think the Swedish is even more important 😉 Oh yes we do get a lot in return for the struggles, wouldn’t change this whole journey for being stuck in the Netherlands again! 😃 So it’s all word the ups and downs, I think it also means that we have a more clear understanding of this country and also what we like and don’t like for the future. Thanks for liking the video and photos! I do my best to capture the beauty of nature here and also be honest about the process we’re going through 😊
I'm surprised that you didn't research Sweden before you moved here. Of course it'll be different from NL. Learning Swedish is a must and beside courses you should sing songs in Swedish (youtube with lyrics), read children's books and books in "easy Swedish", watch Swedish TV: news, films with subtitles on the TV.
Oh we did research, but until you are actually in the country and surrounded by the people you see how it really is. I think you can’t be 100% prepared for all you go through. We also went quite fast through the whole process of actually moving. But yeah easy Swedish is definitely helping to begin with 👍🏼
Thank you so much! I do my best 😉 And I think the nature here helps with creating these beautiful shots and films 🤩 Yes I really enjoy using the DJI mini 3 pro 👍🏼

@@AnomaliSWE If you want to be versatile and not too heavy then maybe the Mini 4 pro? It’s newer then the 3 so should be better 😉 Haha yes she does a good job! 👍🏼👍🏼
@@lifeof_guy Have you tried flying your drone in freezing temperatures? they don't seem to be able to handle more than -10. Usually it's most beautiful outside when it's colder than that in this country.🥶😅 I have looked at both the DJI mini 3 pro and 4.👍
@ Euhm no not yet… haha but let’s see if it will freeze haha… I will see what happens in the winter 😉 I hope I can capture some of the beautiful snowy/freezy weather 🤩
6:48 If you are serious at being here long term, Ja du behöver lära dig svenska för att kunna prata med kunder. Jag ser inte poängen med att komma hit om man ska ignorera språket, svenskar förstår Engelska väldigt väl men väldigt få är duktiga på att prata för att vi så sällan pratar Engelska (annat än med utlänningar). So Yes, people that are gonna be here long term or permanently really should learn the language. Don't worry about making mistakes, people here will gladly help you learn. We also have no problems pointing towards fun media to use to learn the language. I personally would recommend anything written by Astrid Lindgren, pretty much all her stories have been books that have had other forms of media like movies and TV shows (one of my favourites is still Ronja Rövardottar, had a childhood crush on her)..
Yes indeed, that’s why we want to learn! I think that’s a really important thing to do. Immigration is one thing but integration is another.. and surely want to do that too 😊 Definitely will look in to that! Thanks for the tips 😊😊
@@lifeof_guy No problems, I like sharing Swedish culture with others. One nice thing with Astrid Lindgreen is that some of the writings give you a look back in time (thanks to tv/movie adaptiations), like Barnen i Bullerybyn adaptations which are based on late 1920's Sweden. Emil i Lönneberga adaptations depict Sweden in the late 19th century. pippi långstrump is much more much more contemporary, those adaptations depicting Sweden at the end of the 1960's. There's also loads of other Swedish cultural things, some really iconic childhood shows like Petson & Findus, Trazan och Banarne, Dr Mugg, Bröderna Fluff, Bolibompa (almost felt embarassed I forgot about Bolibompa). We also had loads of foreign cartoons like Disneydags that showed a bunch of Disney stuff. Srry I tend to go on a tangent when writing about stuff I am passionate about. Hope this gives you some more ideas of stuff to look into.
Dont give up, for us it was also more difficult than we thought, but the penny will drop. You can also listen to the podcast ' Henry läser Wikipedia ' which will help you to at least understand Swedish better.
You have a talent for making movies with sound and pictures from nature. Why dont you try to speak - slowly with pauses and also like in the end - no talk - you show the beatiful panorma and music. This could be investigated and explored. Yes I have lived in Holland from october to april 1994 and learned that you have a rainy season...rain every day...if not in the morning - in the evening. This is different from Sweden.
Thank you! 😊 haha yeah I sometimes try it in the intro but I always feel I sound horrible 🙈🤣 but who knows… maybe one day 😉 Yeah very rainy season… just in general more rain then in Sweden 🙈
Its going to be great.. but with periods of.. why did we move here!? First you have to survive your first winter.. people up there think its nothing.. only different seasons and quite normal! Soo.. the more rural one lives, the more one need to be prepared for winter.. self reliant.. in the begining as a foreginer reliant on nice neighbours.. to give advice! And then to language.. the more rural area.. people do understand english, they are not that used to talk english! In anyway, Dutch and Swedish is cousine languages.. we share a lot.. its the same type of language.. old Norse and old Frisian was our old relatives! First one learn words and pronunciation, next to put up whole scentenses, (its supose to be similar?)/(and both of our language have influences of "high german")! It supose to be.. first a strugle with words, pronunciation, building scentenses.. then after a while.. one notice all the similaritys! Second.. one learn about false friends.. words that is similar but have shifted meaning after 500 years!
Haha yes we do! I think we will survive that, the rental apartment should help in that 😉 But yes let’s see how we deal with the cold, snow, darkness.. The language has indeed similarities but also a lot of different things so we just have to get familiar with those and then we will definitely get on a good level with speaking etc 😊 thanks for your input 😊

Immigration is one thing but integration is another.. and surely want to do that too 😊
Definitely will look in to that!

@@hannibal2104 Oh no we will not give up! 😉 I noticed we are able to learn it, so that’s a start! Ah ok let’s see about that podcast 😉👌🏼
Vad kul at du lära svenska :D Hur mår du?
Jag mår bra! Vi har en bra helg 👌🏼😊 Hur är du?
💛🙏💙 When you live in Solleftea, you could ask Jonna Jinton, if she needs more team members for her new shop? 🤗
Haha yeah that’s a possibility indeed 😉 She can always call me 🙈☺️
@@lifeof_guy Of course, you are right! But you can call her too, or? 🙃
Thank you! 😊 haha yeah I sometimes try it in the intro but I always feel I sound horrible 🙈🤣 but who knows… maybe one day 😉
Yeah very rainy season… just in general more rain then in Sweden 🙈
The language has indeed similarities but also a lot of different things so we just have to get familiar with those and then we will definitely get on a good level with speaking etc 😊
thanks for your input 😊
