I've noticed this modern trend where people have college degrees and successful careers but don't know anything about life. Taking care of a home, car maintenance , cooking, raising kids. They only know how to do zoom call meetings and order delivery food. Sad.

My parents were faithfully married for 72 years. Neither had an exclusive friendship with a member of the opposite sex. They had friendships with other couples, or if a single person, male or female, as a couple. As an older single woman, I don’t have close friendships with married men. There’s too much opportunity for immodesty. I’m either friends with the couple, or it’s kept at a distance and always in public.

I will tell you a story. I was a young, married woman working in an office. I thought I had a male friend, because I felt nothing romantic for him. I invited he and his girlfriend for dinner with my husband and I. A few years later, I went to visit him. I had my sister-in-law with me. He showed me around his house, it was nice, in Newport Beach- he grabbed me as soon as we got to his bedroom, and said, "you must have known I always liked you that way" ...for me I cried ...I left and cried on the way home. Not so much because I had been deceived- and feeling stupid- ...but because it had disrespected my husband. I never did that again.

The creep was probably right. You were conveniently ignoring his overt behavior. He read that as a silent acceptance of what he was doing and just looking for an opportunity. A lot of women do this then play innocent. It depends upon the character of the people you associate with. Truly honourable people are as scarves as hen’s teeth and always unappreciated or thought to be fools. That is how the world continues the same evil from generation to generation. Don’t believe you have make friends. They truly don’t exist.

Let me tell you about my parents, OBM, faithfully married 72 years. More specifically, it’s about my father, the purest man I’ve ever known. In middle age, he took up bicycling as a sport and as a means to saving money during the oil embargoes in the 1970’s by cycling to work. Eventually, he joined a local bicycling club and would go once a year on their long distance group tours.
All sorts of people belonged to the club and a woman joined who turned out to be a real asset to the club. She was multi-talented, a successful lawyer, mother of five older teen and adult children, an organizer, leader, knowledgeable and having great skill at bike and auto repair, biking gear, developments in bicycle engineering and design…She could also sew, cook, cut hair, had done fashion design, and could draw and paint. You get the idea.
My Dad admired her greatly for both her talents and for her openness and kindness. He spoke of her often as such, but without a trace of liking her for any other reason. That was because he didn’t think of her in any other way. It wasn’t on his radar.
Mom thought otherwise of her. Mom had been raised by her mother with her two brothers, her father having abandoned them and his own elderly mother during the Depression. She made it her business to find out who was this Wonder Woman. Upon learning she was recently divorced, privately expressed her sentiments to Dad. Of course Dad assured her he had zero interest in her “that way,” and she had her own friends, not Dad’s type. Because he was raised with a pure heart and managed to hold on to it through 12 years in the Navy, Dad assumed the same of others unless the opposite was clearly evident. His innocence was both Dad’s strength and weakness.
They were on the tour committee-along with eight other men and women! He didn’t socialize with her. Marty and Dina (a married couple who Mom also knew) were the only people on the committee with whom he socialized.
My Dad was excellent at planning in terms of putting plans on paper and in words so as to be understood and implemented by others. In 1983, a 10 day tour of Colorado was on the schedule. It was for 450 bicyclists, meticulously planned, mainly by Dad, and Wonder Woman, as my Mom came to call her, set about making it happen. Lots of others helped as well. The tour started in Denver, and set off first into the rural, less touristy, well known parts of the state. The last three days of the ride included places like Boulder, and concluded at the airport after a tour of Denver, itself. On night four, they camped in tents in the middle of nowhere after having cooked and eaten a delicious meal outdoors, had various homemade entertainments, soccer, board and card games, music and singing around a bonfire, or just hanging out with friends. Some people set up their tents away from the activities and went to sleep so as to get an early-bird start to the next day’s ride. Dad was among the early-birds and had fallen asleep while in his tent, flashlight on, reading. I’m sure you can guess what happened, but it took Dad by surprise despite Mom’s warning. Around midnight, Dad was awakened by Wonder Woman, already IN his tent, wearing nothing but her underclothes! Dad set her straight immediately! Who did she think she was, insulting not only him, but his wife and mother of his children? Who was she to insult all nine of his children? He threw her out, and was so shocked and disgusted, he retrieved his stuff, strapped it on his bike, spent all of the next day solo cycling to Denver, stayed the night in the airport and flew back to New York next morning.

That is the best way I have heard this. I grew up in a home with my father was a former Marine and it was yes sir and how high do I jump or it was the belt! My mother was not like that and a push over until I was 16 and then I became the enemy or it seemed that way! I just wanted out and married the first man to ask me and then regretted it and I remarried and I love him but it wasn’t until I realized that I pushed him away because I was so demanding and bossy! I was not like this with my children! I genuinely thought that I was setting boundaries for our marriage and when I saw things weren’t good I got very uneasy and defensive over them! My husband and son ! I didn’t see I was hurting my husband but after I read about 3 books and studying the Bible I now see how very wrong I have been with my husband and want to save our marriage and family because I don’t want to lose my best friend and husband and lover! Or my sons Daddy! Please pray for reconciliation!

I grew up with nothing but brothers, male cousins, and their male friends. I only had 1 female cousin my age. So, I’ve always gotten along better with boys/men than girls/women. Women are complicated. Men are very straightforward the majority of the time. If they overstep their bounds, you just have yo put them in their place right away. I learned how to be straightforward from men. With so many women being in the workforce now, you have no choice but to interact with many men. You tell them like it is and they do respect you without holding grudges. If you’re married, you have to be careful to always guard your heart and Do Not disrespect yourself or your husband. Do not put yourself in situations where something you’ll regret later could happen. Like that young lady in the room alone with that guy. You can be caring but be wise as well.

She said they wasn't giving money to her. I'm thinking is she disrespecting me. Seriously. No. Gentlemen stay on your boundaries live on your boundaries. Now a her was telling something about that. Marriage is sacred and should be kept that way but if you go places with the opposite sex there then neither should be there in my opinion because if the shoe were on the other foot it might fit tightly! And cause a bubbly blister! I think each should respect the other and I didn’t grow up with a mother who respected my father like she should have so it really wasn’t demonstrated to me like it should have been but after reading the Bible and what it said I really believe that when a wife demonstrates the respect a husband asks for it is easier for him to return it! I wish I had really read that before! I wished I had saw the importance of a few of these circumstances before!

How about this question, how many more friends of the opposite sex than friends of the same sex is acceptable?
I am a Noachide, but have read the Siddur prayer book, and in Pirkei Avot, it is said that too many female slaves invokes lewdness (for a male) and too many male slaves invokes robbery (for a male). We can assume the vice versa is the case for women. If this is the case for slaves, forced servants, how much more can it be with friends who aren’t slaving over you?
Furthermore, it is said that a man who engages in too much idle chat - discussing anything but Torah - with a woman (it says so for a wife, and how much more it would be for not a wife) brings evil upon himself. We can assume the same is correct for the vice versa. In other words, too much unholy discussion with the opposite sex leaves room for the Yetzer Hara to bring about adultery or other sexual misconduct. The more friends you have of the opposite sex, the more you must focus strictly on Torah and following the God-given laws that apply to you (benai Noach or Benei Yisrael). Just as risky as it is to possess too many friends of the opposite sex, we should not risk too many more friends of the same sex. I have seen that Yetzer Hara can still use lust as a weapon in such instances, but more than likely he would invoke mistrust and competition, thereby invoking robbery or theft. That being theft of trust, or theft of humbleness and modesty by making one feel competitive.
I had a coworker who said most of her friends were men, because “women are drama”. She wasn’t homosexual nor was she a tomboy. What can we infer of people like this? Are those who surround themselves with members of the opposite sex? Should they even be considered for marriage if they say their friendships take priority? Better yet, should a friendship with such a person even be entertained? It truly makes you wonder.

Is cheating on your spouse, (with physical evidence) grounds for divorce, if the one cheating wont admit to it (therefore not wanting to work on it even when the other spouse is willing to)

    • @Rachel_Robinson

Both parties need individual and also marriage counseling. The person who was cheated on, is and or can be the reason why. For instance, did the woman let herself go? Gained 50+lbs, unloving, unsupportive, nagging, rude, disagreeable, demeans him with her words, withholding sex and affection, disrespectful, not submissive?! The scriptures clearly state a man will cheat, because of these various reasons.. Proverbs 21:9, Proverbs 25:24. As a Christian woman, it’s not about you anymore. You come last; you’re not meant to put career, and other things, before your husband and children. You were created to be a help mate.

Rabbi, What's the difference between having children and bringing in reincarnated
souls? How do you deal with an old soul in a young body? Are humans having a
spiritual experience or are souls having human experiences? What is the reason
why people are having children? Is it to help guide reincarnated souls and help
them on their soul journey? Or are they just machine parts/livestock that are used
under every and all circumstances for the purpose of keeping the social construct
alive without any concern for its machine parts/livestock? The medieval feudal
concept of the nuclear family was invented around the idea of indentured servitude.
It has changed over the years but the overall foundation of the concept still exist
in today's westernized world. Abraham and his wife Sarah didn't want children
for the sake of having them just to fit in with the Jones, they brought in a soul
for the purpose of starting a nation. A soul that possessed the right qualities
needed for the job. They didn't just have a child to leave to chance in hopes
he would start a nation. They had a plan, a reason for bringing in a soul that
would carry out their's and their god's agenda. Prior to that they tried in vein
to bring children into the world but for no reason which is why they didn't
produce any. And it turns out that the child Abram did produce with Hagar
turned out to be someone who was set up for a bigger reason and purpose.
Point being the prophets of your torah didn't just blindly have children, they
brought in souls like the evil warlock in the movies summons up a demon to
do his bidding so too were the prophets of the torah summoned into the
physical world to serve a purpose. People today question the reason for
their existence and the answer is simple, they were summoned in by the
idea that they could be used as fodder to keep a corrupted, mentally unstable
form of society alive for the benefit of those who created it. So are we having
kids with souls having a human experience? Or are they reincarnated souls
having a human experience brought into the physical for no real purpose and
or reason? Could that be a reason why so many people feel like they don't
belong? Are we supposed to exist to serve other men and their ideas? Or
simply live? I wish you a wonderful week ahead Bro Manis.

He doesn’t know you any more than you know him. In fact, you know a little about him, but he doesn’t know about you, that you even exist!
