Absolutely spot on. Took the uncertainty out of the picture. Was able to fix my Hurricane ferris wheel by installing a new belt replacing the one that has been stretched out and slipping for about a year now. Excellent tutorial. THANK YOU!

Tip: Do not loosen any nuts from the bottom. I'm a noob and learned the hard way. There is a post that goes from the platics on top through the white wood. Then a lock nut under the playing field. Better to actually make sure all those underneath are tight. Then on top of the decorative plastics, the screws will unscrew from the posts. The posts are (give or take) a couple inches long. The post has males threads that poke through the white wood. A locknut goes on those male threads under the white wood. The top of the metal posts have a female end that they short (perhaps 1/2") screw into the top of the posts. IF the posts are loose under the white wood, then trying to unscrew the screws just spins the post. My mistake was thinking that they entire post was to come out and loosened the nuts more under the white wood and that just caused other problems trying to tighten it all back up so I could only unscrew the short screws from on top.

Observation: When I bought my machine 15+ years ago, I went crazy and bought extra parts. I have a 2 pack of yellowed silicone looking bands for the ferris wheels that are 15+ years old. The game came with a white more typical rubber type band that lasted those 15+ years (not sure how long before I bought it.) I put on one of the bands and it was SUPER tight even after loosing the tensioner. The band snapped 5 min later at the weld point in the circle (where they took the material and welded it together to make a circle.) I'm hoping it was just too old. Ordering another one and will update after it gets here.

Thanks !! Mine is slipping. I'm going to try that tensioner first. But now I'm not so scared to replace the belt if nessasary

I've seen people take WAY too much apart to replace the belt. You don't have to disassemble that much. It's pretty easy.

@@SevensPinballorama I tensioned it about as much as you can. It looks like the previous owner had the belt break and glued it back together or got a new belt and cut it instead of removing the mech then glued it. :( but it is running better for now. Looks like I'm going the replace route. Where did you get your parts from?

The new silicone belts kind of look like that. If you find it still slips, then I would take it apart and clean it. Mine had a bunch of old gummy grease in the wheels which really wasn't helping matter.
For the part, go to www.marcospecialties.com and search for number 23-6673.
