Lol at people saying it's the same price as a Q3... No it's not. The Germans always offer stripped out models to temp badge snobs to the showroom. When you get there they'll try and bend you over to buy a never ending list of ridiculously expensive options that jack up the price of the car into the stratosphere. That's even before you get done on the overpriced servicing to fix items that would never go wrong on a cheap Japanese hatchback.
This guy is definitely the best presenter of real world car reviews. Engaging, likeable personality coupled with useful information about the cars. Nice balance going on.
It's a really great car /crossover - pretty reliable, nice real leather interiors very comfy ergonomic seats inside with super panoramic sunroof ... with good features, very sturdy and the BOSE edition, sounds brilliant... I am a very happy owner of my Kadjar :)
Another super review carbuyer. I actually drove one of these on launch day, and its a thoroughly well sorted car for its type and price. perhaps there is a shade too much road noise at speed, but otherwise there is nothing to be concerned about dynamically. Renault are very cheeky though in only having parking sensors on the third up from base Dynamique S trim, so its not as well priced in practise as it initially appears. Still, Renault are on to a winner with the kadjar.
Great car. I'm hoping to buy the one my mum's friend owns. French/soft suspensions make the journey really smooth and quite comfy on the inside. Regarding the parts, it's the same for half the brands out there. Not really a big deal. Just make sure you drive it well and fully service it annually as a minimum - higher mileage may require a mid year interim service - touch wood should be fine.
A meeting at Renault not too long ago: "Right people, we got this platform from Nissan to design another tall crossover pos as all the sheep keep buying them but Nissan said make sure it doesn't sell as well as their tall pos so let's name it Kadjar!"
Hi, Carbuyer I am from South Africa my name is Jed I am 11 years old,I love Renault. because you get the entire range of Renault can you please do a video on the Renault Talisman and Talisman estate and new Espace if you can get your hands on one?
Having driven both the Renault Kadjar and the Kia Sportage, (new model) I can tell you that whilst both are good cars, the Kia has the edge over the Renault in many ways. I've also found our local Kia dealer's customer service to be excellent. I'm currently looking for an SUV and both cars are on the hot list at the moment.
The Nissan Qashqai is already an SUV that can't cope with snow/ice/offroading (or on the flipside a hatchback that costs more to run), so why not get one that is even more implausibly named and looks like a melted 3D Dali painting instead? Motorists, we give you...the Kadjar!
+Oshawott Waters You're right, but only the 4WD variant, which are at the top of the range and massively overpriced. Virtually the entire range is FWD, and they are no better than any FWD hatch in snow. And for the cost of a 4WD Qashqai, or in many cases less, you could get a proper offroader like a Jeep Renegade, Fiat Panda Cross (no joke, its brilliant), even a Disco Sport for just £2k more...
+Oshawott Waters Absolutely true, Land Rovers aren't known to be reliable, we had a family friend who got one new, within a month part of the suspension had broken! Certainly can't fault equipment on a Qashqai, friend's had two and kit is brilliant. End of the day, I'm no expert and great thing is that people can freely debate about cars, and you're right, some cars can surprise despite what people say...for example my grandparents had a 2002 Honda CR-V, it went places land rovers got stuck in, now elsewhere in family with 200,000+ miles and still working faultlessly
The 4WD version as much as the Q3 ! Mind you I think the Q3 is out of step with other Audi prices. My neighbour bought one last year and his basic 1.4 TSI 150 ps 2WD seemed almost too cheap at 25K before a sizeable discount. He had to wait 4 months to get it though.
interceptor1986 I could have bought a 3 years old BMW x5 with 86000 miles and very little equipment for the same money ( No Warranty) . Instead I went for car with a 0 miles on the clock 4 years warranty and service costs included , 30 pounds road tax on 19 inch wheels ( AND ALL EXTRAS) even self parking . Good luck affording all EXTRAS on a BMW , Mercedes or an Audi, let alone the uncapped service costs.
you rip on bmw for bland styling on the 7 series. explain why you don't say the same for every god Damm s u v . we can all tell they look basic and all alike. explain yourself please
Miles per gallon given in these reviews is singularly uninformative. First, it's based upon computer ead out - how do we know that's accurate? Second, these cars are always brand spanking new. Diesel engined cars are known to become more economical as the engine beds in. My current diesel car is more economical now after 60k miles than it ever was when it was brand new. The reviewers need to say how many miles the car has done and how long the journey is when giving out the figures.
true 60K is expensive however you get 8 year warranty on the battery on 8 year warranty on the electric motor. also tesla have stated that after 15 years the battery will still hold up to 75% charge. tesla is also building free solar chargers across the world. FREE sun energy. elon musk has stated that tesla is developing a method to allow you to remove the car battery and place the unit into your home which will then be linked to solar panels on the roof of the home :)
look at the amazing things Elon Musk has done. Yes i trust Tesla and Elon Musk. Do you trust car companies that have been saying for over 100 years that electric cars are not possible because the technology is not that practical.
***** Well they're not that compact! They just seem silly for example the Honda crossover. You get a little more space then a Civic but it costs £4,000 more! Costs more on fuel, insurance and is also not as good to drive! If they we're actually able to go offroad they might have a slight purpose but as it stands I just think these cars are stupid.
***** Yeah I don't see the point of having an SUV as a family car either, as for the high seating position... Sure but I definitely wouldn't pay extra for it. Minivans are the better family cars but I would still rather have say a Focus or Civic as they supply as much room as you'll need for most tasks I don't see the point for anything bigger unless you have more than 3 kids.
+The Real Emile Better visibility and overview of the traffic, easier to sit in and get out of the car, especially for older people and those who have back problems. It's mostly the older people anyway who buy new cars. Young people either can't afford or simply don't care about cars anymore. Plus, nowadays the SUVs are usually built on the same platform as regular cars, meaning , lower weight, better fuel economy, driving dynamics on roads etc.
+ahvike124 Okay but they still seem stupid, they are worse in almost every way to the hatchbacks on which they are based. I get the whole positioning and raised up thing but many cars have those without all the disadvantages these hateful pointless things do
I sat and spent 30 mins on this car yesterday..all I can say is wow! Renault has come a very long way, the quality of the interior is nothing short of quality. personally I think it's better than the overly famous Qashqai.
Edd Stance no... Unless you're in the motoring industry you wouldn't understand..... I've had French cars apart and the quality is dire. Do you see any motoring journalist driving a French car as a daily? Answer no.
+Chadwick 1991 Had my Captur for 13 months now, still as solid as the day I picked it up. Renaults of old were sheds on wheels, believe it or not they've come on massively.
+Chadwick 1991 you prefer certainly the germans ? look at these statistics : www.reliabilityindex.com/manufacturer germans cars have the worst ratio price / reliability .
+fordTEMPO94 not necessarily. Peugeot makes or used to make very beau cars. 407 for its time used to be nice, some Citroëns are very nice... I think its just Renault, never liked the design of their cars
1.2L petrol in a cuv like this?! Is it a turbo 1.2L?! Cause it's sad even with a turbo and if it's not infact a turbo i think Renault should be sued for lack of common sense!

Best Renault i've seen In a while. In person it looks a lot better!
It's a really great car /crossover - pretty reliable, nice real leather interiors very comfy ergonomic seats inside with super panoramic sunroof ... with good features, very sturdy and the BOSE edition, sounds brilliant... I am a very happy owner of my Kadjar :)
After 6 years would you say the same or did your opinion change?
Can u tell if the car is still reliable?
Kudos to Matt again - no one else would allow a GoPro to be glued to their forehead :-)
Top review again
I bought this car a month ago. and it is great. great quality for the money. 1.6 Disel is not so loud.all in all its everything you need in a new car.
+259rambo The 1.4 diesel can also be found in the Merc C-Class (C200 I believe it's called).
+Ian Burgess 1.5* but its not fast enough with 1.5 motor 1.6 is the real deal
Subaru levorg please.

hyundai tucson 2015 please
I'm thinking ahead for my grandfather's next car, so I'm watching your reviews
Top spec is the same price as an Audi q3? If the price was the same as a diesel q3, I'd take the Renault, knowing its cleaner 👌
I bet the remote control car is better off road than this SUV is.
+MS It's not meant for offroad. It's for regular people who like the looks and size of an SUV and ride comfort of a sedan/hatchback.
+MS why does it say your comment is three days old, its only out today ?
+Rick Green www.carbuyer.co.uk/
+Rick Green wtf
Sold my Savage X few years ago :( And yes its better than a lot of SUV's at offroad :-)
Couldn't see inside the boot space you were showing because the filming is dark.
Good review, do another one for that hpi savage :-)Probably it will struggle to pass that big bottle test
another excellent review by Matt Watson with just the right amount of humour
I liked the water spilling xD + all endings of your videos
Could you do Qashqai vs Kadjar?
I wanna buy one as it's my facourite bute a friend told me that spare parts are really expensive and rare on market. Is it true?
Great car. I'm hoping to buy the one my mum's friend owns.
French/soft suspensions make the journey really smooth and quite comfy on the inside.
Regarding the parts, it's the same for half the brands out there. Not really a big deal.

I think my next car will be a Renault KADJAR ? I have a Nissan Quashqai @ the moment:)
+Ford Fiesta To late I have a Kadjar on order Cosmos Blue & it has alloy wheels Model 1.5 Signature Nav Auto
Have faith!!!! I have had a Renault Laguna in the past & it was fine:)
+Ford Fiesta I will let you know what the RENAULT KADJAR is like after I have had it a few weeks:)
+George Ritchie How is your Kadjar ???
I just bough one my self I had it for 3 weeks
+niceguy60 Brillant Renault Kadjar very pleased with it,all good so far:)
if the price is similar to AUDI Q3, then Why I bother with Renault.
Yeah i agree this car is a joke.0% reliabilaty
+Ugne Genys And you, dear sir, have 0% credibilaty.
+Kenny Fe It should not be pricier than a Nissan Qashqai with the same drivetrain
Base model Kadjar is cheaper than Qashqai atleast here in Finland. And top of the range Kadjar is 2k cheaper than base model Q3.
+Kenny Fe Do you realise Mercedes bought Renault engines and has fitted them on the CLA , Class A , Class B & Class C ???
French cars are the new PREMIUM cars
Germans cars not premium , I mean if you have to pay extra for things like Folding Seats & Carpets
Hey Mat, I like your review but don't like the car. What do you suggest, thumb up or down?
I like this car, Cheers for the review
looks like a really good car. I'd say it's worth it over the Nissan.
Have you guys tackled, or are going to tackle, the new Hyundai Tucson?
Great job Matt, as always!

Hi, Carbuyer I am from South Africa my name is Jed I am 11 years old,I love Renault. because you get the entire range of Renault can you please do a video on the Renault Talisman and Talisman estate and new Espace if you can get your hands on one?
Jed Laidlaw you cant get espaces. In the U.K.
Matt has aged too well.😞

what did you use to stick that go-pro to your forehead? super glue? haha

*Where is your review of Ford S-Max?*
I demand it!!! :))
looks and feels like a Dacia Duster :)
cool over all
I have the exact same color and wheels
New Ford GT Review?

Hi. I am a couple of days of buying a Kadjar. Still deciding. What do you think about the car so far? Thanks.
i just bough one
on purpose???

Testing the new hyundai Tucson soon?Brilliant motor just ordered one.
The Nissan and the Renault even share a stupid name.
imagine the depreciation and maintenance costs of this car after 4 years.
Tesla electric cars are the future.

Hahahaah! was that thing powered by a 1.6 turbo? Btw Matt, wat's the emblem on ur shirt? It's looks very familiar but I can't recall.
Now we are talking about some serious minorchange.
Renault is playing a safe and lazy card here.
What is the appeal of these crossovers? Seem stupid to me!
***** Well they're not that compact! They just seem silly for example the Honda crossover. You get a little more space then a Civic but it costs £4,000 more! like the tucson way more
I'd rather just have the cx 5..
honestly, the dash and cabin layout looks dated compare to the exterior.... shameful..... as a Renault .. should be better
I sat and spent 30 mins on this car yesterday..all I can say is wow! Renault has come a very long way, the quality of the interior is nothing short of quality. personally I think it's better than the overly famous Qashqai.
the new hyundai tucson looks better
+Ford Fiesta Volkswagen tdi engine emission scandal also caught up in 11milion unit in a few days
Hello, You've Made Progress! screw song What's your opinion about this !
Hyundai Tucson please
Renault!? No thanks
i wish renaults lasted longer than a shitty dodge.
Where is your poppy? Show some respect
Hahaha.. You lift up the chair? I have a Kadjar and I have to put the chair in the lowest and most far from the stering wheel as possible position....
Renaults always break down, i'd rather buy a bike.
+sodthong It's a Nissan underneath...
+sodthong stereotypes...
Yeah it's true that vauxhall is better...
Cole Phelps They can be very hot tho ha ha
+sodthong yep that's when the engine starts burning
that keyless entry is soooooo 2005 mercedes SL
+Ernesto Ortega R More like Megane 2004
Dont trust the electrics.
It looks like shit. Sorry, Mat, you have to go through the crap reviews to get to the fun ones (or delegate more lol)
Looks like a Mazda CX-5 (side view)
The usual cheap Renualt build material 😥
Give it a week then stuff will start falling off and going wrong
lol so true. I wouldn't even give it a week. Renault rubbish.
+chappy2121 lol people like you are missing out big time, assuming that current french cars are built like the old ones is very very naive.

Renault Codger
+Zero1Zero1 ZeroZeroIntelligence
Renault old codger, only old people would actually want one.
interceptor1986 I have one and it's a good car but not as good as my merc
I'd never buy a french car. not up to my expectations.
They just as any other cars
I want to like this car but it just looks so cheap
Nice wheels but the front looks ugly af
+fordTEMPO94 not necessarily. Peugeot makes or used to make very beau cars. 407 for its time used to be nice, some Citroëns are very nice... I think its just Renault, never liked the design of their cars
+fordTEMPO94 Columbo had a Pug 403 cabriolet.
People keep buying overweight cars like these and I don't know why ;)
+FrightfulAccountant THe Kadjar weights no more than a regular saloon a vauxhall/Opel Insignia weighs 120 KIlos more , so does a Mazda 6
Renault Talisman please
just get a pair og glasses and take out the glass and glue the gopro on.
It is a glorified Darcia Duster, Rivaling Honda CRV or Nissan Qashqai? No chance. Honda and Nissan wins hands down.
Too much plastic at the back ugly lookin and its not sports suspension
Renault rust magnet
The trucks are
In one of the Transformers films, I bet Renault made the rusted truck
+Pacifica611 It's a modern renault
Better than that nasty and rusty Japanese cash cow.
Looks dated from 90's
Screw Audi, it's an overpriced junk fitted with faulty gearboxes lol.
1.2L petrol in a cuv like this?! Is it a turbo 1.2L?! Cause it's sad even with a turbo and if it's not infact a turbo i think Renault should be sued for lack of common sense!
+acuras4ever Yep, it's a turbo as in the Qashgai,
Peugeot 3008 will walk all over this.
Really good review!
however a terrible car
Another pointless Jackedup hatchback no thanks.
Peugeot 3008 will walk all over this.
