Maybe it is time for ESKOM to exit the electricity distribution space (where it's clearly failing) and allow private companies and entrepreneurs to distribute electricity in townships and informal settlements (buy bulk from ESKOM and retail to households and own the LV infrastructure), with a requirement that the concessionaires are also responsible for set annual electrification targets in their areas.

Nope, that is not totally true. My section has always been on prepaid and that was even before Zuma’s tenure and we have no electricity. To only think that we have no electricity only because we do not pay is totally failing to understand the dynamics of Soweto. Illegal cinnections happening are the fault of both the government and Eskom. If I steal sugar in Shoprite Checkers they call the police for me and I get arrested,however, if I steal the lectricity power, Eskom just disconnect. Why are they not calling the police and I get arrested for theft? There is a lot wrong here its not as simple as that.

I believe the first problem starts with your Municipalities. Normally your Municipality belongs to the people yo vote for. That Municipality has to make decisions for you. Complaints must go to them what are they doing with the tax payers money. Most Municipality officials stomach is full and getting paid for doing nothing and their stealing on top of that.

The power outages are caused by too many illegal connections and vandalism like izinyoka etc. Eskom must just hire Zim expats Electrical Engineers that they fired on xenophobic grounds.
