What a great PlAYLIST …. i was thirteen when listening to JOHN PEEL and JOY DIVISION …. the “ Live “ versions of COLONY AND NEW DAWN FADES ….. ETERNAL … HEART AND SOUL ….. raw power .
It's awesome what a live band Joy Division was, and how they weren't afraid to change the sound of their songs from the official released versions. Too many bands' live sound, sound like their recordings. Diversity is good.
Wow, this sounds awesome, at first I couldn't believe that it was Ian Curtis singing. This sound was revolutionary for the 70s. The distortion on the guitar, the heavy base line of Peter Hook, Morris is a drum-machine, the synths on the background..out of this world! Check also the cover version of The Horrors, they take the distortion to the next level ruclips.net/video/EQCRjUvSybE/видео.html
Is it just me, or is this one of the best pieces of recorded music ever?
+Danny Grimson you are 100% correct mate
+Danny Grimson not just you. Joy Division was a musical powerhouse.
1978? Could be made in the 21st century.
Danny Grimson it's up there.
You might not be far from the truth, sir.
This is easily the best version of the song.
migimunz Agree 😍
Definitly
Wow... Okay, this version just friggin' rocks the house. JD was a marvelous band. RIP, Ian.

Holy friggin hell this grooves way too hard.

Ian's voice went through many changes throughout Joy Division's short existence. He sounds incredibly youthful here.
Its Ian
this is a dramatically shortened version of the rca session song, the best in my opinion of one of their top 5 songs
The drums on this version just sound so much better
I Need It ! ... I Need It !
Awesome version, never heard it, thanks
Essa bateria, esse baixo e essa guitarra....
A energia dessa canção é forte demais!
right?
Thank you for posting this. I cant find these recordings anywhere, and they're like, the best ever done by The Division of Joy.
Kenny Fisher Division of Joy! That’s gonna my tribute bands name.
This band was godlike live
RIP IAN....the best song ever
Fucking outstanding!
I love this song when I hear it on pandora.
evelasq1 hahah so true
this and all of the others of an ideal for living were the best versions that cannot be beaten
Wonderful
fucking amazing!
Why is this not on the Heart and Soul box set?
Sublime deep as all songs of JD.
is it weird that this is my favorite song, but only by this cover?
Joy Yancey nope, same here. took me ages to find out the source.
Better yet it's not a cover although Ian's voice doesn't sound at all typical
Super Sound.
I want my speaker to blow up by this tune
This ffffing hums! Damn!
Can't believe I've just discovered this. Joy Division rocks.
Excellent song

it's actually hard not to find it, it's incredibly easy to buy
amazing! but I prefer the 'warsaw version'
Ahead of their time
Anyone knows who is playing the synth? its live recorded and Bernard is playing the guitar
Is that Robbie Williams behind Ian? Asking for a friend.
Spaceship!!!!
does anyone hear The Fall, same period?
who's playing synth????
probably bernard
he built the synth too from a kit
o really?
chadjshepherd Unknown session musician.
Is this song actually from "let the movie begin" ? Its not listed on the back of the album
there are songs mislabeled or/and missing on the cover.
@@zachciankowa So it really is on the album?
@@eljodha7022 yeah, I checked on my uncle's copy. I actually discovered this crazy version because he would talk about it wasn't listed
@@zachciankowa thanks, nice to know that there are still People on the internet that aren't toxic
