I agree! Actually, Nikon have a lot of Retro. bodies they can put on, digitalize it using full frame new sensors. I am very sure & predict people would buy it, if only, Nikon would move to this direction. I have been using Nikon system since 1980., they are one of the best camera system, i have ever used. During my time, there were only two brand that are making a killing Nikon & Canon. I have used both. Thanks for sharing. Keep safe.
Took me years to finally find one if perfect condition. A cloth shutter one from the original owner. Had all the paperwork. A camera that I will never sell.
Jerry Burchard used one with a 35mm lens. His night photographs are amazing. Philip Perkis, another hero and teacher of mine, taught Burchard how to print in the darkroom. Fun fact.
I have a black body original SP with the 5cm 1.1 lens. Unfortunately I don’t have the resources to get it repaired. Would love to run a roll through one ☝️
Kiitos camera im Shinagawa, Tokyo is the best place to get your camera worked on. They are affiliated with Nikon, and can do the most difficult repairs. photo-kiitos.co.jp/
Sweet camera very tempting. But I have a nice F3 HP. I am looking very seriously at the Nikon 35 Ti. To go with the F3 for street and travel shooting. As a Pocket size point and shoot.
Hello. May i ask why is it not recommended to use the self timer in old cameras? Is an important function for the pictures i take. It may damage the shutter system? Thank you
No, but there was an external light meter that you slide in the cold shoe, that interlocked with the shutter speed dial, just like the Leica M cameras. Really cool and rare, in working condition.
@Japan Vintage Camera I understand that the thread pitch is different from a new or Limited Edition lens, and so it may be better to look for an original filter.
In my opinion, by far the most beautiful rangefinder camera! Someday...
If only Nikon made a digital camera that look and feel like S2/S3/SP as well as the recently announced fc.

The F3 is climbing in value again, if you find a good deal on one you should jump on it.
F3 is far superior to this camera, get it
I really want this glass on my S2 ^^

How much is a SP usually goes for?

Did the SP come with a meter attachment like a canon 7?
No, but there was an external light meter that you slide in the cold shoe, that interlocked with the shutter speed dial, just like the Leica M cameras. Really cool and rare, in working condition.
