In the movie "The Battle of the Bulge," when the panzer crews sing this, it communicates the sense of comradeship that must have sustained German soldiers even while any sensible person knew the war had been lost years ago. Music fills a narrative purpose in that movie, at least in that scene.
@@julianmizzi1295 BUT -- it is one of the worst war movie that I have ever seen (next to "Pearl Harbour"). The Tiger Tanks do not look any thing like a German Tank at all --- and the battle field looks like a hot desert (supposedly it was fought in the middle of a snowy European winter around Christmas ). The film producers should take some high school history lessons before making the movie.
@@jonshive5482 German Tanks were American M-47's painted Gray. American Tanks were American M-24's painted Olive Drab. And yes - it is an utterly horrible movie. I can forgive the use of the tanks they had available. I mean ... how many German WWII Tanks did they have that were still running? Other movie's have made a greater effort to have at least mock ups - but - those movies didn't have several dozen tanks on each side. But the plot ... just horrible. The good thing about this movie - is you get to see a lot of M-47's and M-24's - but that's about it. The only movie I know of that had real German WWII tanks in it - was a 1955 Czechoslovakian Communist Propaganda Film called _Tank Brigade_ ruclips.net/video/of1jM1x8QpU/видео.html this is a clip cutting out ... most ... of the propaganda ... but not all of it. . .
Even so East Germany had very strict border control from immigrants and the older phases of Germany from 2nd Reich/Prussia to the Schismatic Germany during Cold War had good relations with Middle Eastern countries without having both sides infringing their civil matters on migration level, what Merkel stands being even more cynical as part of social liberal Europe which stems from Classical Liberalism where it's slowly corrupt not just Germanic values, but the entire traditional values around Europe and started crawling in outside Europe Not to mention today Germany are just pawns of not just EU, but both USA and Israel while also dependent on the traitorous Gulf Arabs which overtook Ottoman Empire and destabilizing relatively stable Authoritarian 'secular' Arab countries, it's a bit more complicated than what you might think and these incursions and outside players are mostly winning from the triad of Anglo-American, Wahhabi/Saudi Salafism and Zionist circles

And when he trains his guns on us
Emplaced in yellow sand
(Yes, yellow sand)
We find other ways
That the foe had not planned.
5. And when fickle luck
Will desert us at last
Then comforts of home
Are but memories past,
And when the fatal bullet strikes us
Then no one can save
(No one can save)
Our panzer wil be
Our glorious grave.
yep....sing it as a PanzerGrenadier in GD USA
here comes the french one :
Que la tempête souffle avec violence, qu'il neige ou que le soleil nous sourie.
Que le jour soit brûlant ou la nuit glaciale,
Poussiéreux sont les visages, mais joyeux est notre esprit,
oui, notre esprit.
Notre char gronde dans la tourmente
Avec un moteur qui fait grand bruit, rapide comme l'éclair,
Nous roulons à la rencontre de l'ennemi, protégés par le char,
devant les camarades, nous sommes seuls dans le combat,
oui, nous sommes seuls ;
I'm impressed that it can be sung in English perfectly to the same tune. :) Scouts Out!

In the movie "The Battle of the Bulge," when the panzer crews sing this, it communicates the sense of comradeship that must have sustained German soldiers even while any sensible person knew the war had been lost years ago. Music fills a narrative purpose in that movie, at least in that scene.
It was the Young under aged tankers proving to their commander that they were men.
@@barrhavener Absolutely spot on. Tanks look like M60s, they didn't shell towns with indirect fire in real life, and it wasn't summertime.
The only movie I know of that had real German WWII tanks in it - was a 1955 Czechoslovakian Communist Propaganda Film called _Tank Brigade_

why would you ban such a great march?
Not really banned actually. The German army still uses this march.
Even so East Germany had very strict border control from immigrants and the older phases of Germany from 2nd Reich/Prussia to the Schismatic Germany during Cold War had good relations with Middle Eastern countries without having both sides infringing their civil matters on migration level, what Merkel stands being even more cynical as part of social liberal Europe which stems from Classical Liberalism where it's slowly corrupt not just Germanic values, but the entire traditional values around Europe and started crawling in outside Europe
Not to mention today Germany are just pawns of not just EU, but both USA and Israel while also dependent on the traitorous Gulf Arabs which overtook Ottoman Empire and destabilizing relatively stable Authoritarian 'secular' Arab countries, it's a bit more complicated than what you might think and these incursions and outside players are mostly winning from the triad of Anglo-American, Wahhabi/Saudi Salafism and Zionist circles
weil die BRD ein riesiger Verrat am Deutschen Volke ist.
Für Deutschland zu sterben ist uns're höchste Ehr'.
Good point. Banning such a march is A FAILED ATTEMPT TO ERASE HISTORY. WHETHER WE ARE FRIEND OR FOE, WE JUST CAN'T ERASE HISTORY. THIS MARCH IS JUST A SYMBOL OF THE GOLDEN EPOCH OF THE WEHRMACHT.

LYRICS :
Ob’s stürmt oder schneit,
Ob die Sonne uns lacht,
Der Tag glühend heiß
Oder eiskalt die Nacht,
Verstaubt sind die Gesichter,
Doch froh ist unser Sinn,
Ja unser Sinn.
Es braust unser Panzer
Im Sturmwind dahin. 2x
Whether it storms or snows,
Whether the sun smiles upon us,
[Whether in] The day's scorching heat,
Or the ice-cold of the night,
Dusty are the faces,
But joyous is our mind,
Yes, our mind.
Our tanks roar there,
There in the stormwinds. 2x
[Singable english]
In blizzard or storm,
Or in sun warm and bright,
The day hot as hell
Or bone-chilling be the night,
Our faces may with dust be laid,
But spirits never fade,
No, never fade;
Relentless, our tank
Thunders out on a raid.
