Just in time for “Klassik am Dom” in Linz, the rain stopped for the Spanish opera superstar Plácido Domingo on Wednesday evening. As powerful as ever, the 82-year-old delighted the audience. Young up-and-coming talents who shone with virtuosity also created high spirits.
While it used to be operas at the world's most important theaters, Plácido Domingo now prefers concerts. He also honored the event at "Classic at the Cathedral" with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic. “The musical repertoire is diverse. I sing opera, operetta, zarzuela - that is, Spanish singspiel and songs. The audience makes this mixture very happy,” said the cheerful star in an interview. The Maestro was enthusiastic about the backdrop of the Linz Cathedral.

Begeisterung bei Plácido Domingo in Linz
Pünktlich zu „Klassik am Dom“ in Linz stoppte Mittwochabend der Regen für den spanischen Opernsuperstar Plácido Domingo. Stimmgewaltig wie eh und je begeisterte der 82-Jährige das Publikum. Für Hochstimmung sorgten auch junge Nachwuchstalente, die mit Virtuosität brillierten.
Waren es einst Opern an den bedeutendsten Theatern der Welt, so zieht Plácido Domingo jetzt Konzerte vor. So beehrte er auch die Veranstaltung bei „Klassik am Dom“ mit der Philharmonie Baden-Baden. „Das musikalische Repertoire ist vielfältig. Ich singe Oper, Operette, Zarzuela - also spanisches Singspiel und Songs. Das Publikum macht diese Mischung sehr glücklich“, sagte der gut aufgelegte Star im Interview. Von der Kulisse des Linzer Doms zeigte sich der Maestro begeistert.
