Pulled out three sheets, cut them as you showed, added them to Kraft, black and white card bases, added sentiments. Made a box, and had a gift I gave a friend at lunch today. Perfect.
I recently started to make cards (the last couple of years), and I sent a batch to work with my husband. I sent 30, and they all got new homes, as well as a request for a few more birthday cards! There's something so satisfying to me about being able to give people something unexpected!
I've been card making for 12+ years and I've never seen anything like this "adventure!" So fun.
I have been crafting for years and always stayed away from papers like this because as you said at the beginning, I look at them and think how do I cut a beautiful page like that. You have now made me more inclined to not dismiss these kind of papers. Thank you, such a simple but amazing idea and they look beautiful
"Get what You Get, and don't get Upset."
The mystery cards are a fantastic idea!!
Love it! I'm a novice crafter and cardmaker. Collected most of the tools, papers, etc. Watched hundreds of tutorials.... Got completely overwhelmed. Then happened onto this video, and Wow! Made my first set of cards that I feel totally comfortable giving to someone else. Thank you so, so much.
I met another card maker at the nursing home where I volunteer and donate my cards. She had never heard of this mystery cutting technique. I told her to watch your video and she is excited to try it.
Right there with you! This technique is so freeing!
I love watching you do mystery cards. I smiled the whole time you were making the cards. So much fun!!
This is a great way to get past a creative block! Also, it amazes me how each has a space that is perfect for a sentiment.
I am not usually a card maker but this is a great way to make inserts for scrapbooking pocket pages! One of the best videos I have seen...thank you!
I’m bonkers over that paper! What an amazing technique. “Keep the faith!” Such fun! ❤️
Love it! No stressing out about where to cut! Just have to figure out where to put the greeting! I have quite a few 12 x 12's I bought because they were so pretty and they just sort of jumped into my cart because they didn't want to be in store anymore!
Oh, don't I know that feeling! 😁
Ooooo if this wasn't me just a couple weeks ago before Easter!😆💸💸💸
Sometimes I love a paper so much, I buy 2. Scrapbook on one, and just put the other in my album as is.
Yeah...those "jumping paper pads"...we've got them here in Michigan too!
😀
I have done this with old calendars
Perfect video topic, Maymay. I have SO many papers that I just love but can't think how to best use them. I must have missed the original video, glad you re-did it.
Awesome video! Thank you! Cards turned out beautiful. Many could use without sentiments as multi-purpose note cards like our mothers and grandmothers bought!
I love videos like this! You've inspired me to get out my Mintay papers and get started. I send out over 200 cards a year and sometimes hit a slump. This pulls me out of my slump! Thanks Maymay!
Love this!,, can’t wait to get my “ I don’t know “ paper out to begin playing!
Watching this again, I just love these mystery cards! Now I look for this kind of page just to cut up! I am making sets for Christmas gifts.
Ok this is a really big POOF! mind blown moment!!! I have some papers to try this with!!! This would be an amazing way to make mass cards for card drives for nursing homes, armed forces overseas, etc.!!! Thank you so much for showing this to us. Lovelovelove!
I "accidentally" found this video on pinterest and I'm so glad I did! I love this technique and can't wait to do it!! I was gifted a craft- ton of paper (over 2000 sheets) and some of it just isn't my style. Now I know what to do with it 💖💖💖 I am now a follower May May 😁
I have never seen this before, and I definitely have paper I thought was pretty, but didn't know what to do with it! Definitely try this!
I love this episode I play it over and over. I couldn't wait to order the Mintay Woodland paper, I live in Australia and we don't have access to a lot of these beautiful papers etc. I waited over three weeks to get my order. I have made the cards. Thank you Maymay.
What a magical technique! Thanks for the video. So much fun!
Would be fun to make a frame for the paper and give it to someone. then cut the paper up for cards and send one every month or whatever to that person and they can put them in the frame. Then they not only have the joy of receiving the card but the fun of puzzling them together and displaying them.
Now, this is a game changer.
Wow! Wowww!! Gorgeous!!! Who knew??
You get what you get, and you don’t get upset, is what we say in CT 😊
This is Genius!!! I struggle so much with these kind of beautiful papers. I can’t help myself but buy them, and then they just sit in my craft room unused.
I have Woodland and LOVE Mintay papers! Thank you for sharing your talent.
I absolutely love this technique. I do freak out about those paper with big beautiful scenes. This is amazing!!
So awesome! Thank you. Yes, the struggle to cut paper is real….but it’s JUST paper. I can always get more!
love this...i could make cards for years because I have so many unused paper pads!!
I did that with a sheet once and I loved it. Did not know it was a thing. Love this idea.
Hey Maymay, the "visiting subscriber" last week was me, Jean Ann! lol
I really appreciate the personalized quick lesson in the store. Thanks so much.💡
P.S. Don't forget the Downton Abbey movie next month. 👸
I didn’t want to call you out! Lol! We have plans to go, me and the girls will be in line asap!
MayMay, you are incredible, I didn’t believe you could make such gorgeous cards by cutting that paper like that and the slimline cards blew me away! I can’t wait to do it myself!!
Great way to use up paper and not one I would have thought of on my own. Shall definitely be doing this as I craft.
This is 100,% my favorite videos to watch. I love that she is as excited to make cards as I am!
I agree it took awhile for me to want to chop up these big papers but when I seen them in albums just cut up and used on a page that has a few pockets that you just continue using that same picture. It looks great when you see it like that 😀. I love listening to this lady. I love her Southern accent.
Thank you!! I don't scrapbook, but purchase 12"X12" papers and have a stash of paper that I will now be able to use! Thank you SOOOOOOOO much! Really!! You truly are the best!!
@Tonya Rood I don’t scrapbook either. I use my paper for cards and junk journals, and then there’s the hoarding.
It's magic!!! Thank you Maymay 💛
Mind 🤯. Love love love this! There’s always a handful of 12x12 large format artwork in the 12x12 packs that I NEVER knew what to do with (they can’t all be scrapbook pages)! THANK YOU!
I just found you... you are amazing and have helped me so much. I am a collector of paper but now I am excited to use them. ❤ I will definitely be following you and your crew.
That was AWESOME. Actually it never occurred to me that's why I have a hard time cutting those beautiful papers. Thank you soooo much.

Amazing!!! The slimline samples came out beautifully too! So fun!!!😮❤️
Ah- mazing!!! Thank you Maymay!!
This is a great lesson for those special papers that I can't think of how to use. I could use this technique for matting mini albums too...I have bought paper for mini albums but then can't think of how to cut it because of the design. Seeing it on a screen vs real life can change what I think of doing with it.
Just beautiful
