  • The Hyperloop Alpha, a revolutionary transportation system proposed by Elon Musk with some pretty insane engineering.
The concept is simple yet groundbreaking: a pod traveling in a near-vacuum tube, minimizing air resistance and friction. Magnets lift and propel the pod, creating a smooth, frictionless glide. This means incredibly fast, efficient, and environmentally friendly travel.
But turning this futuristic dream into reality is a monumental challenge. From vacuum pumps and magnetic levitation to advanced materials and regulatory hurdles, the journey of Hyperloop Alpha is a fascinating blend of innovation and ambition. How close are we to seeing this high-speed marvel in action?

I thought the Hyperloop project had been abandoned. There has been no activity for a couple of years or so at the test site just northeast of North Las Vegas, NV. Are you sure your data is up to date, or has the project moved to another location? If moved, where and who is running it now?

I understand that The Impossible Build is trying to keep content going, but the reality is we already have build and they had insane tech for DECADES! We could have build cars/Proper flying cars that run on pure water or 0 point energy that Germans have discovered way back in 1930's, trains that go way, Way faster than 500MPH without ever touching anything and airplanes that can get from NYC to London in less than an hour with easy, without sonic boom effects. Everyone knows why we are living in extremely underdeveloped world.

What is impossible to have a hyperloop? Chinese already has it first hyperloop technology model and prototype. Next for Chinese to have is manufacturing the commercial passengers hyperloops!

Imagine the g force if they put a slight curve in the tubes.. any train can go as fast as it likes in a straight line.. but get a curve in there and it gets interesting.
They done seem to be allowing for that.

A head of a car manufacturer made a move to slow down competition by sending people on a wild goose chase. This was a rare W for Elon.

Cost and Need trumps crazy ideas... cost to design, acquire right of ways, construct a project that has never been done before, cost to operate, cost to maintain is huge... cost for a ticket is far too expensive for anyone but the rich... and they don't take trains... no need for this type of white elephant... we already have mass transit... airplanes... and cars...

I don't see any reason why this cannot be build. Building pipelines that keep pressured natural gas inside is much more challenging than keeping partial vacuum. The technnology has existed since 1960s. If maglev is too expensive just build it with regular tracks. Even current electric locomotives could travel 1000 mph in vacuum if the bogeys had enough gear ratio and the rails were straight enough.

I'm glad that a lot of people are aware of a real problem The problem is not building all this tech, the problem are the people who are not allowing progression and evolution, because of their selfish greed towards money and power.

      Vande Bharat:
Opened 2019. Top operating speed: 160 kilometres per hour.
      Tokaido Shinkansen:
Opened 1964. Top operating speed in 1964: 210 kilometres per hour.
India: 55 years behind Japan and still slower.
Don’t bother trying to show off about it.
