Thanks A lot for this tutorial Berk! I was looking for years now, to find exactly this technique! Specially because this is the main setup in Keyshot and I was always frustrated that it isn't the same in other programms. But now I know how to do it : ) !
Great to hear Christian!! Thanks a lot for constant support! :)
WOW! I am working with Blender for years but I learned new thing tomorrow. Thanks!
This is fantastic, i've always wanted to make Gran Turismo styled HDRI scenes, but never quite knew how to execute it, until now. Thank you.
Thank you for the excelent video my friend, I'm also in love with Blender and was looking for tuts like this!
You have no idea what awesomities this has resulted in for me! Thanks soooo much!
Definitely going to try this for my product renders. Thanks for making this tutorial!
Awesome tutorial, loved how simple and effective you made it all. Cheers!
Thanks for this useful tip. I have looked long and hard to find a way to anchor my cars to the ground. Can't wait to try it out.
Fast, Concise and straight to the point...you made it look easy, even to a noob like myself 😂❤
Please include the short cuts you are using next time ..some of us are noobies🥲
I am eagerly searching for this comment even my blender don’t take any shortcut seriously how to setup shortcut’s or may something to enable it i don’t know and no one is telling me that simple shortcut of move, rotation etc how to enable them because some shortcuts i know but they don’t working after pressing
Pretty impressive that with simple HDRI you can set a good scene. Gj!
Hocam sen adamsın. Bu videodan çok şey öğrendim. Teşekkür ederim.
I used to do the exact same thing until I found the Lily Surface scraper addon which achieves this exact result with some super clever nodes in the world shader. Give it a shot, it's a lot better than this method.
So Lily Surface scraper doesn't work on Blender 4.0. Do you know any other addon that will work similarly for 4.0?
@@whatisthis48 Yes LSS has been updated to Blender 4.1 now.
Thanks berk abi👍
I was also going to render my car in 2-3 days, hope it will help me ;)
Thanks for this video! You made it more easy for me to understand.
very nice tutorial. Thank you so much!
Now I want to re-work so much of my stuff. Awesome!
Excellent 👌 this has given me some good ideas of how to integrate HDR and 3D content together. Bravo
Learnt a lot from you Berk! Thank you!
Oh my gosh! How helpful. Thanks so much.
awesome tutorial keep up the good work
This was so helpful thank you so much
pritty easy and still effective, wow!
bro result of these so realistic thanks man
Many many thanks! Love you!
Thanks!! Useful tip. I have a question though for my use -
What if it's an interior scene and you have to place an object on say coffee table / bookshelf / side table, etc.? How do you flatten the bottom of the sphere then?
Taking it one step further, what if there are 2, 3 such surfaces at different heights? What is the solution then?
One of the best automotive related blender course! Thanks
thanks a lot!
HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?????????? THANK YOUUU
Change the noise threshold to 1.00 in Cycles. Renders way faster. Great video.
thats actually amazing
was actually working on a car render today this was quite helfull
love it but won't the light from the environment be blocked as the sphere is closed?
super as always Berk
Thanks a lot Peter! :) 🤩
This is so awesome ahhh i was looking for this. Thank you so much. Can you please make a more advanced tutorial? For me, nowadays every detail In my renders matter.
Yesss sirrr
@@SportzCar XD
Works amazing
This tutorial is really awesome sir it really helps
Please make the tutorial of adjustments sir it really help in renders
What do you do when there are close up objects in the hdri map? I saw peoples' renders with a parking garage hdri that has many pillars and they have no distortion at all. I wonder if they recreate the pillars in 3D...
Nice workaround. Eevee really needs a transparent shadow catcher though.
Life Saver Tutorial! Thank you so much.
Nice tutor!!! Ty
very smart, thank you.
Nice, could you make a tutorial like this but on how to render an aircraft with a HDRI with clouds ?
oh that sounds cool! I'm more focussed on car design but if you find the right HDRI with clouds, I think the theory will be the same! You will not need to have shadow, so it is even easier!
Just import and HDRI (maybe even without creating the sphere) and done! :)
Thanks!
Nice one but the light is not passing through the sphere so whats the point of aligning it? How you made it pass through?
If I assign a new material with principled bsdf node to sole, there is a lightning difference between the sole and the sky. How did you balanced them?
At 3:40 the floor apears distorted and stretched, nothing like in your video and I followed the same steps. Any help? TY so much
Thaaaanks!! 🫶👊
Jesussss. This is how people do it lolll. Appreciate this! TY
I cant undurstand the point of world hdri, cause it gives zero light to the object inside the UV-sphere. Can I somehow change the strength of light on the texuture of UV-sphere?
what did you do at 2:29? when you said "pick one of them on the up"..I cant figure out that part?
Helpfull
thank you for world texture hack. i wonder why did you change UV to Object in texture coordinate.
After 20 years, the good old projection hemisphere from Mental Ray or Vray 1.0 is still a secret trick… funny.
Thnak you, very helpful video. I have a question though: When you create the sphere, I though it would "block" the environment from affecting the car. But you kept udjusting the sphere to match the lighting of the car. How can the car "see" the environment when it is fully covered by the spher?
I was gonna ask the same thing :D
Think I figured out what you guys are talking about. On the main toolbar, where it shows what lighting mode you are in, you can go to the material preview/rendered mode icon and checkmark the following options: "Scene Lights" and "Scene World". Messing with these is pretty important when trying to get materials/shaders right for a render. If they are unchecked it just uses the default Blender lighting on everything. If you check those, then it basically removes all the fake background lighting and you get only light from your own stuff.
That messed me up once when doing a water shader. Thought it looked perfect then realized it was using the fake Blender default lighting and not the actual HDRI and had to tweak it.
could I just invert the normals instead of setting the scale to negative?
Great work
What do u think about nurbs modeling and polygons
And when to use nurbs as well as polygons
Thank u so much
Thanks! I made an overall software comparison in this video: ruclips.net/video/GSRn9XMLKoI/видео.html
Short answer: I almost never use nurbs anymore as a creative designer. Nurbs are more for production process for me. Polygons (let's call it Blender as its my only 3D software for daily use) are for ideation, development of the idea, renders, design proposals, animations..
@@BerkKaplanDesigner Thank u so much it was useful
As u said for perfect smooth surfaces Alias is the best
Because if u want to make a good and clean surface in subdiv modeling it takes time and u have to be good enough in modeling to get that great reasult
But with Alias it's different
Alias made for this "automative"
I was using 3dsMax.. Recently moved to blender.... I loved it so much as u
It's friendly.. Blender has lots of free addons shortcuts... Open source. Free and u can do with it whatever u want... I started doing car 3d modeling after I learned blender it's easy..
I just love blender 💖
Recently I started learning Alias.
Thank u for ur feedback... Means a lot....
bros a wizard
Thank you for showing this interesting approach to doing this.
I can't really see the advantage though over doing it without that additional sphere as it doesn't seem to make things easier or faster or more controllable, for that matter. A shadow catcher is easy and fast enough to create, and the environment texture, like in your video, often needs to be scaled anyway.
It seems to require just as much, if not more, fiddling around to get it to look right. The different texture color will, in many cases, be an issue. Unfortunately you're not showing how to fix that. If you need to rotate the background, it would be helpful to be able to link that extra sphere to the background HDRI or vice versa in order to avoid additional work.
Thanks a lot for your comment! I think the biggest advantage is for animations. Without the mesh environment, only with shadow catcher, animation will not work. But directly after this tutorial I did this animation: ruclips.net/user/shortsUVBUEFldNSY?feature=share and with basic rotations/camera movements it looks really good in my opinion.
About the different texture color part: solution is using a wide gradient mask betweek 2 materials so it will not be that sharp. But in this tutorial I didn't want to go so complicated, keeping it more beginner/intermediate level is helpful to more people. If there will be requests, I can do advanced version as well.
Cheers! :)
also just a shadow catcher won't work. using just a shadow catcher with an hdri isn't enough as cycles gives weird illuminations due to the transparent mesh of the shadow catcher. that's also why Berk probably added in the extra sphere, and for animation like he said.
@@BerkKaplanDesigner Thank you so much for the tutorial mate :D can't wait to do an animation
@@BerkKaplanDesigner Thanks for your explanations. That does make sense. I think you did mention animation in the video, but I ignored that part because I only do stills. It's an interesting technique anyway and I'll give it a try some time.
why it is not just like as a basic feature like 1 click button, in vray it just 1 click option long ago
nice but how bout putting a shadow catcher plane under it?
hey man i really want to use this technique. However at 2:30 where you "scale, Z, 0" the floor texture becomes distorted into a spiral. Even if map coordinates are on "Object" and the image texture is on "sphere", and have applied all transformations. Any tips?
the same happens to me
there is no sphere projection in blender 4.0, pls help
Berk Kaplan, very nice to meet you, I learned from one of your game design courses, and now I am making a game, it requires me to ask some questions about how to design car panels and car center console, will you have free time to answer my questions
Hi, thanks! I don't have a game design course but if you mean the Blender course, please contact me as anwer to emails. So I will be sure to see your message. Thanks!
me inscrevi só por esse vídeo
great
Where do you get the car model?
There's got to be a plugin for this workflow
Thanks for the video albeit Berk
Nevermind, think I found a github plugin
ruclips.net/video/xMR8_p_bb_E/видео.html
God this is a lot of trouble. There are so many 3D packages that can do this by pressing one button. But thank you for the video or I never would have figured it out.
For the shadows of the car can you make a plane to work as a shadow catcher? or in this case it doesn't work like that?
I prefer to use shadow catcher for backplate renders like this one: ruclips.net/video/k3HK-AxXro8/видео.html
Hi, Good morning, i have a problem with the pink texture, but i don´t know what this means? I wait for your answer.
This occurs when Blender fails to locate the texture image
how to adjust the color in photoshop? I need this excellent course.
I use camera raw filter option in photoshop and do my adjustments there. You can see more on that in my Photoshop Course: www.berkkaplan.com/courses/photoshop
❤❤😘😘
Is the car a renault concept?
Every single dome I create Has weird stripes, likke if the image was cut.
I'm literally spending days trying to figure that out
Did you try using subdivision + shade smooth on the dome you created?
Somehow, the object reflection results are totally different between the HDRI world and the sphere. Also , when you go from flat to sphere, you get a completely different result. (All on the ground) Unless this problem can be solved, this method cannot be used universally. Thank you.
Suggest a website for free race track hdri
I was wondering how people did this!
Do you know how we can make hdri fit with eeve ?
I have a ocean ... How to match could hdr with ocean
Our enyoiments have sfhear’s and bears and ssppearrs 😂😂
My cycles ain't responding same as yours..... Though I followed you completely
hello, can we add motion blurr to hdri ?
Hey, motion blur needs a motion so it is added to everything as long as the camera moves :) Or maybe you can rotate the hdri to do that. This video might help: ruclips.net/video/rocIzI0hIE8/видео.html
can you teach me how to do this 3:10
Messed up right here, no further expectations 🥴🥴
Why not just create a plane under the car and set it as a shadow catcher?
Easiest way I havent ever seen
You sound like you could do the Borat accent easily lmao
2:30 how did you do that
you need to pick 'active element' from the top menu as I show, than S for scale, Z for z axis, 0 (zero) for making it flat :) You can learn detailed from my courses! www.berkkaplan.com
Very informative but still dont get realistic ahadow
🤣 abasically you have shown free method which is done by a paid plugin.. thanks a lot
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Why the hell would you spend 100 dollars on a 360 image? That's kinda stupid in my opinion
Knk Turkceside gelsin bi bok anlamiom
