Heck ya that's awesome. Thats a really simple hitch. Makes repair work easy. Awesome that you can get the repair paart from them instead of having to just get a new one. Cant wait to see the new hitch your getting.

I laugh at those that say "you don't need that". Of course you don't need it but loads change all the time, and why not have that extra bit of safety, as it could be your life or a family member's life you are saving. It's a no brainer. This would be especially good for the weekend or monthly tower... put your pride in your pocket & be safe. Thx for the video!

Of course you don't need it, but it would be nice to have. I'll probably look into one at some point, even though what I tow isn't nearly close to maxing out my payload/towing capacity with my truck, but if I were to tow the same trailer/load with my other truck, I'd need to know more closely how much tongue weight I have on the tow vehicle.
When I'm hauling my tractor and implements I pretty much know where to stop the tractor and have a really close correct tongue weight...however, what would change that drastically is if I were to load a couple of pallets on the trailer, then load my tractor...I'd have to load those pallets on the front of the trailer towards the tongue, drastically effecting the amount of tongue weight...well now I have to reposition the tractor because I can no longer pull it up on the trailer as far....but where do I stop the tractor now, all my reference points are no longer correct. This is one great reason why some sort of scale is very handy when you have changing load conditions based on the job you are doing....I bet the same is true for say hauling a skid steer, but not only do you need the bucket but maybe this time you need the grapple as well...ok, so where do you load that extra implement? Drop the bucket, put the grapple on, and then pickup the bucket in the grapple...well you just changed the geometry of that skid steer by several hundred pounds....gotta grab a scale or some way to figure out where to reposition that machine....I mean generally you can kind of get a good idea just by eying your truck and seeing if the back end is squatting giving a sign that you at least have some tongue weight, but how much, and is it enough? You can't technically answer that question by just a truck squatting, or by where the load on the trailer looks good.
One of those scale hitches would be a great addition to a tow vehicle....I know some of the new HD trucks and I think options in some of the 1/2 ton trucks now is an onboard scale system....but for those of us running older trucks, this scale hitch would be awesome.

I love the idea of the WeighSafe hitches, but everyone I know that has them all say the gauges go bad. It’s nice that they warranty them, but still somewhat of a pain to be constantly switching out parts.

I bought one of these just under a year ago with your code Brock. I was highly impressed with it at first. Then I went to remove the hitch from my truck, about 5 months old, and the locking pin was stuck and the key would not turn to unlock it. I tried to spray it with anything i could and no luck. I contacted the company and they sent me a new locking pin to replace it no issue. I had to use a cut off tool to remove the old one which was a pain but worked. They told me to spray lithium grease inside the actual lock to prevent it from happening again. They said that will dissolve any mess that works its way in there. I now have to make another claim for the scale part that you just switched out as mine no longer moves. I have no doubt they will send me a new one. You just have to make sure you have your original reciept/email otherwise they will not warranty it. The hitch itself is awesome.

The new oring is a different material, It will be interesting to see if it holds up better. However now that you fixed all that bouncing and shaking in your trailer it should be less stress on the ball

Something that would be interesting to test is to run the Weigh Safe hitch in conjunction with a Curt BetterWeigh. It's a device that plugs in to the OBD-II port. It connects via Bluetooth to your phone, and you can get pin weight, trailer weight, weight distribution, and trailer brake gain. I suspect it uses accelerometers to measure the truck angle and the OBD-II engine load information to calculate weight. I have one of these, but I haven't gotten around to calibrating it yet. You need a level surface that you can get up to 15 miles an hour. Where I live (north GA) "level" is hard to find.

I am sure the ball o-ring was your failure. Get an o-ring pick set from HF for $2 good tool to have. Very important to clean out O-ring grove as well. Use some hydraulic oil when putting back together.

Maybe i missed it?? Isn't there a specific amount of oil to replenish the fill. Id think different amounts produces different readings.

Have a 10k weigh safe. Scale warranty after 3 uses. Returned and worked two more times. Hitching to it several times monthly. Scale has never worked again. Hitch looks great, is nicely adjustable but does not give tongue weight. Find a good looking hitch for less without the scale. They are a waste!
Of course they sent YOU another. You have a popular RUclips channel. Go figure.
