How to tarp at windy shipper? Find another flat bedder that needs to tarp when finished loading as your self. One tarps while other stands on ground and puts on bungees. When finished; then they help you. Basically this becomes a two man job that takes 30 minutes per truck. Windy situation solved. Happy trucking Becca and stay safe.
I am an a retired truck driver OTR. I don’t watch a bunch of truckers videos but I in joy watching yours, I love the way you take us on a trip with you. I sure do miss those days. But I get to in joy it again with you thank you for all you do. You are a blessing to the truck industry, just keep on trucking.
Becca, next time you tarp in the wind, roll your tarp out but dont unfold it yet, get on the ground and throw a few straps over your load and tarp, snug the straps just enough to keep your tarps from blowing off, then get back on top and unfold your tarp under your loose straps it will alow you time to get back on the ground and put on some bungees, be safe.
As an ex-english teacher, the way I read it (and, frankly the way you wrote it) implies that you were talking about her. Sorry. If I actually had nuts I kinda think that maybe they should be numb.........They always seem to be hurting.
I must make a comment. You young lady are a professional big rig truck driver. You definitely have the grit to meet the unexpected challenges that your line of work throws at you. Thank you for your videos depicting you overcoming the unexpected. I enjoy being with you during your drives across the country. I have seen you chain up in a blizzard on a steep grade. Thank you again and keep on praying. My prayers are with you.
I did flatbeds the first 6 years of a 26 year driving career. I would have had the forklift driver put the tarps on top of the load before I drove out the gate. Then if it was too windy I’d strap them down and drive to a less windy location. I’ve used a building to block the wind!
I remember a story my brother told about hauling a roll of steel. It was rusty when it was loaded so they told him he didn’t have to tarp. He had them put on the BOL that it was rusty when loaded. He got to the other end and they tried to refuse it. He pointed to the BOL and they had to take it
OMG, this video had me and my husband laughing so hard! It was great you had the camera rolling as you were struggling to get the tarp down. You showed the real struggle and we weren’t laughing at you struggling, but at your realness. “For the love of fat girls” really got us! You will get stronger as you deliver more loads. Keep up the great work and keep your sense of humor!
Girl you will get back in to shape. You can't expect to hit the floor running. You have to build up everything you lost while you where home. Your doing great. Dont be afraid to ask for help from other drivers.
Just found your channel!! Love how it's like a "life in da day" in every video. I love how you don't care about the Camara angle and just telling your story. Next time I see a trucker struggle with a tarp on the road, I will stop and help. Because Holy wow!! 😮😮
If you make up some 2”x4” lumber and attach it temporarily to the top of the headache rack so you can slide your tarp from the headache rack to the top deck of the step deck so you don’t have to strain too much 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Keep your spirits up young lady. You are exceptional in your loading and driving. You just need to build your strength again. We love you too and have watched you since you started. Keep it up!
Becca, you are gold! I remember situations as bad that brought me to my knees too but you braved through them and are stronger for it! Keep on truck'n.
Hey just an FYI take I5 to 580 in to Livermore. There's 1 scale on 80 going in to cali to 99 south 1 scale 205 1 scale and then smooth sailing from there. Drive careful love ya glad your back.
I grew up in Wyoming so I know all of the areas that you went through. My town is about 25 miles E of Casper. At least you got to see some beautiful scenery and some long desolate areas. As far as the wind situation in Wyoming, that's why the population is so low. Most people can't deal with it. After you got on 80 I knew exactly where you were as I have taken that route probably 100 times. I wish that you'd have had a better experience in my state. Love you girl!! 💖💓💖
I'm glad you were able to get rid of that load and booked your.next adventure ... God bless you and keep yall safe always ❤🙏🏼🌻 your videos are always great !
Damn it’s nice to see you back in a big rig. I know it’s cheese but it’s just you in your natural element…..happy, and it puts a smile a smile on my face.
Thanks for sharing the good, bad and dam ugly stuff you experience in a days work. You have a beautiful soul and a Bonzer attitude towards life. I appreciate the amount of effort you put into making these videos for our entertainment and enjoyment. Love your style Becca. Following from Sydney Australia.
That's why they called tarp boxes in the side of your trailer. Hell with putting them on top of your headache rack. Put your straps and bungee in one side box and your tarps in the other side box.
Tough load, you got her done! Go Becca, great video! I subscribed to your brother’s channel this morning. He was concerned and caring about you with the load and wind issues.
Also you can use one six foot and I learned to use second blue tarp that's not heavy to go under heavy black one..blue light duty tarp that only weighs like 10pounds .Also can throw straps over tarps so wind won't blow away lol,ok have a great day!
Your strength will return in no time Becca :) Exhausting at first, after a break from physical work, for sure... Whilst those mountainous, switch back roads where no doubt stressful... I hope you managed to enjoy some of the vistas you showed us... That area looks stunning, despite being a stressful drive. :)
Hello BRB...Strong Work!! Please get yourself back in shape, & then stay that way...out on those back lonely roads sometimes you'll be the only one to get the job done...I'm really glad that you prayed 🙏, & then got her done 😊
Here's a trick for you... carry some small 5 lb weights with you and tie them to your bottom eye-rings on your corners so once you throw each side down from top of the load, the weights will keep the tarp from being a parachute!
Great video. Yes. With them hills out there, i love having a 13 speed manual transmission, just pick a gear your comfortable in, and hit the jake brake and glide down the mountain.
You going to be coming deliver in my home state. Safe travels. Glad to see you out there again doing what ya love. As a fellow trucker you doin the deal.
Hey Becca! Happy you are back making that real & raw content! ;) New truckers-we need to see what it takes to drive the truck and all that goes with it, (like me soon) if Livingston, TX ever dries out….need to finish my CDL skills driving test! Be safe out there! 😊❤
I doubt there are few men willing to work as hard as you do and the reason for the admiration wrote about here. I drove in the 1970's, never worked as much or as hard as seen in the videos. take care and be well.
Yo Becca, I’m sorry to see that you had to go through all that bad stuff in order to deliver the load in California but I’m glad you finally got rid of it. Have a safe trip going to Louisiana and good luck 🍀👍.
When I would tarp when it was windy I would get some binders ready on top of the load and use them to hold down the tarps. I also used them while rolling the tarps
Lol, use to live 10 min from rock springs. Lived in green river, wy for 1 year. .Ya, its windy there, thunderstorms everyday. Blizzards in the winter. Originally from san Luis Obispo, California. Now back in California.
gas tanker payed well back then but when i hauled them they didnt have baffles in tank so had to be careful you hit breaks and then 1 2 3 boom you felt liquid shove tractor forward
I’m glad your back in the truck again Becca but it looks like you struggled a little bit from being off work but I have faith that you will get back in the groove again thanks for your videos ❤❤
It’s tough getting back into the routine and rhythm when you’ve been idle for a bit. You got it done no matter how stressful and exhausting it was. Be safe on the next trip. Let us know where in Louisiana you were going to.
Hey becca you said at the end this video could be messy but it's one of your best videos on this channel, it was "intense" thanks for sharing, stay safe.

I was going to point out that she saw the trucker struggling, would have been the perfect time to offer help and get some in return.

Find some big buildings to block off the wind.

It's not that you are weak, it's that you are a mile up in elevation. Listen to yourself breathe, it's hard to exercise at high elevation.

Just think about climbing mountains higher elevations have lower oxygen 😊
