    Did you reinforce front frame for winch and if so, how?

    • @TacomaDad
      @TacomaDad  3 года назад

      Well thanks for watching! Appreciate that.
      I have not done anything to reinforce the frame. I will once I do the sas, but on ifs I will leave it as it

    Wow, someone that isn't running around like a poser with maxxtrax and actually uses his truck. Crazy world.

      Idk what you mean, I’m overland asf. Even have an rtt 😂
      I actually have trac boards but they suck ass in the real world, they are used for plates for hi lifts or jacks in mud lol

    Is that white Gen3 stock height? I was holding my breath at 5:24 I think it looked steeper than it actually was

    • @TacomaDad
      @TacomaDad  3 года назад

      He did just put a new suspension on it but I don’t think he lifted it. I’d have to ask him.
      Videos mess with the eye, that spot is steep but not crazy steep. Those two ledges just seem taller than they are on camera.

    Nice footage and respectable advice!
    I do wish you'd talk about the importance of always taking a few Lunchables along ;)

      Overlandables are a very important part of offroading. Will make sure to give them praise in a coming video!

    Hey Tacoma Dad! I’ve got a Gen 1 that I love. It’s got a 2.5” lift from Rough Country. Well, I got fired up the other day and jumped it a bunch of times over at a buddies house. It was a step-up and the approach was rather abrupt. I felt a pretty strong impact as the vehicle transitioned up the face of the jump. I’ve been feeling bad, like I damaged it. However, there is no visible damage and it drives identical to before. This was not Dukes of Hazard, it was a few inches off the ground. Do you have any experience with that type of impact on the truck? I guess I’m looking for an opinion as too whether the truck can take a light/medium hit like that without sustaining any damage. Thank you.

    • @TacomaDad
      @TacomaDad  3 года назад

      If it is still driving the same I’d say your alright. You could take it in to check the alignment and see if anything is out of wack, that would be the second place I’d start. First step is to just look over the truck, take a peek underneath and see if anything looks messed up. I’d start there!
      Thanks for watching!

    Enjoy your videos but bro!! It's painful watching what you have done to your truck! lol I have the same truck and just now working on adding 35's

      It’s not for everyone but that’s the good thing. It doesn’t look like every other third gen out there. Plus it’s a long way from being “done” lol

      @@TacomaDad Different strokes for different folks lol. You definitely have a way different Gen, it looks great! I'm not into all that rock crawling stuff but like you said in some of your videos, you have to be prepared for anything out there, rock sliders skid plates is a must! I'm currently working on getting 35s and going to get done a relocation cmc done next weekend, is their anything you recommend I need to do other than the cmc done? I seen some videos that ppl are cutting fender flares? I still want to keep them and hate to cut them off completely lol

    • @TacomaDad
      @TacomaDad  3 года назад +1

      Yeah trimming of the flares is definitely needed. I’ve seen guys running them with 35s so you should be good. I’m not sure what your offset will be but the best bet is to get them mounted and test fit. Trim accordingly.

      @@TacomaDad Hey bud,
      I meant to ask you, what did you do with your fender flares, do you still have them? Asking because I'm going to need some OEM fender flares soon to replace the aftermarket ones that I have now. I'm going to cut the fenders to clear for 35s and the aftermarket ones don't hook up directly to the holes like the aftermarket ones.

    Best quote from the video is "Floor it = broke it." So true especially when you want to get home with both CVs in tact ha ha ! Great topic, narration and on point footage !

      Haha I knew someone would like that! I don’t mind breaking them but dang it’s sure nice to climb something without breaking them lol

    Does crawl control still work in your truck? I want 37's one day and would like to see it in a video to see if it can get you places without breaking cv axles?

    • @TacomaDad
      @TacomaDad  3 года назад +1

      I actually do not have crawl control. My truck is just an sr5. If your easy on the throttle you lessen the chance of snapping cvs but it’s kinda inevitable
