I went last year and it was the highlight of our trip. It's so beautiful with windy narrow streets. It has a beautiful cathedral too.
My grandfather and grandmother are from Toledo... They have shared with me multiple stories about the city and their youth being kids in the Civil War... This is a beautiful and very meaningful video for me to remember their memory with me and to feel my family's past
I'm excited to see Toledo, Madrid & Barcelona this Aug. 11-28, 2014. Then heading to Lisbon, Portugal for 4 days. Toledo looks great and rich in cultural history.

And to 'Rompe huesos toran'......I assume that saying that moors weren't relevant to Spanish history, is just an exaggeration aiming to highlight how rich and diverse Spanish culture is. Obviously the civilization that preserved and thought Europeans ancient Greek history, philosophy and science, ancient Egyptian history, advanced agriculture systems, developed modern medicine, advanced naval maps, developed construction techniques of Gothic architecture, and even Orujo and the term 'OLE'.....is slightly more than a grain of sand in Spanish history, even in European history for that matter.

Thank you to show Toledo, but the music is not flamenco or similiar. Toledo is more than 3000 years old. It´s a celtic city meaning: Oh Ledo!

I am a toledo as well. From the island of boriken we have multiplied since 1845.

Correct. Very dark and eerie. I am a toledo. The same toledos that raided and killed tainos in the Boriken. Thanx to our creator. We are noble warriors who grow like seeds.

The Moors not controlled Spain for seven centuries. The Moors never completely controlled the peninsula and of those seven centuries only three can be considered as an important domain.
The Moors are a grain of sand in the history of Spain. The Germanic tribes are much more important in our history and of course the Romans and the native tribes (Iberians etc).
The Morrocans who build Tolido , it's an Andalosi Architecture.
Los marroquies no costruyeron nada en Toledo, solo 3 siglos de sus 30 siglos de historia fueron bajo dominio musulman, que no marroqui.
Además el arco de herradura es de origen visigodo. Todo el mundo piensa que es de origen árabe, pero es visigodo, por algo además, Toledo fue la capital ibérica del reino visigodo.

It didn't bring me here, but it's a fun game.
I visited Toledo last week. This place looks abandoned and not friendly. There are much better towns in Spain like Murcia, Cordoba, Albarracin etc.
Abandoned? Yes, if you do not know what are the historical ruins and its conservation policy, which mostly says that the ruins must be preserved with the smallest reconstructions possible. The entire historic center of Toledo is preserved, with its narrow medieval streets, original twelfth-century bricks, cobbled streets ... all this makes the city a monument in itself, declared, by the way, a world heritage site by Unesco.
Abandoned? I think not.
Pg. Ledesma Please don't be upset because of my personal experience. I'd say Toledo is in bad condition in comparison with many other historical places in Spain. It would be great if more money from tourists were spent to conserve historical monuments and keep Toledo in better condition.
I am not upset. I only say that Toledo isn't abandoned, isn't in poor condition and doesn't need any more money. What happens is that most historic sites are rebuilt or heavily modified, hence they look newer or better than Toledo. Toledo, by contrast, has not rebuilt anything, and has the original layout of its medieval streets and walls, every house you observe is hundreds of years old and the stones you step on have been the same for a thousand years. That is why the whole city is a World Heritage Site (and other places not), preserved almost intact for a thousand years, so everything has an old look (and for eyes untrained, neglected or abandoned). But nothing further from the reality. Millions of Euros are invested in the conservation of Toledo, always with the premise of not rebuilding anything.

I disagree that the moors dominated spain for 7 centuries, are you serious? The moors only dominated a small part of Southern Spain. Spain was dominated by the kingdom of Castille not Moors!

The Moors dominated all Spain except a small part in the north, which today is the Asturias region. In the year 711 they invaded the Peninsula almost completely. From Asturias, and during 800 years, the Christians, divided in different kingdoms (Castilla, Leon, Aragon, Galicia) were reconquering the country, what is denominated "The Reconquista", wich finished in 1492 with the conquest of the last Moorish kingdom of Spain, Granada, in the south. Castilla was the kingdom that more territory conquered to the Moors, for that reason it became the most powerful kingdom of the Iberian Peninsula until the union with Aragon in the XV Century and the creation of the kingdom of Spain.
Today, there is a popular saying in Asturias that says: "Spain is Asturias, and the rest, conquered land."
