Roman Abramovic came in 2003, spend about £150m in his first season and arsenal responded by going the season UNBEATEN! The reason arsenal are struggling today is because one by one players left and mediocre players came in. Also 2007/08 arsenal should of won the league, but threw it away.
this isnt live footage though surely? this is from arsenal tv and judging by the arsenal crest this is a replay from the last 6/7 years and im guessing this commentary was added then
Exactly Dungarth totally agree with you too many foreigners both as players as well as coaches and owners ruining the passion and pride of the English Game. Lets make a stand before it gets way too late. James
I think that's a bit unfair. In '98 Arsenal were just a better team vs the other clubs around them. The last 4 years have seen Arsenal in transition and haven't moved forward because good players keep leaving. You can't blame the current crop if they are not good enough. Arsene Wenger a) hasn't had money to buy big and b) many of his cheaper signings haven't come off.
Because Wright had been out injured for alot of the season and Wreh came in and scored some vital goals in the run in and was the in form player at the time.
@Boris The Blade Newcastle back then is like Spurs nowadays puting the Pressure to Manchester United but Always got empty hand i mean no Premier league, FA Cup or Champions league tropies for them
I hate the football these days when all that matters is money... no glory and no feel anymore. Many play for the money, not because they love it and feel that It's fun to do. Nowadays football is their job not their entertainment. Leading to an extremely boring football... I miss the football a couple of years ago. It's nothing wrong with the sport. But It's the stupid managers that are so greedy.....
I was at this game as a gooner what a team but God rest Gary Speed 🙏 what a player 👏
This was without any question my proudest day as a Gooner!
Anelka should never have left Arsenal. That was the biggest mistake of his career. He was a phenomenal striker on his day.
what a brilliant pass from petit!

When was the last time a player(Anelka) scored in a cup final and not one of his team mates went to celebrate with him?
Anelka with hair... good old days :)
'Unprecedented second double' - Did the years 1994 and 1996 not exist in Arsenal's history? Probably not.
god i miss shearer in his prime terribly.
Overmars and Anelka's goals were unstoppable
1-0 Marc Overmars (23 min)
2-0 Nicolas Anelka (69 min)
@Dungarth Yeah, during "those days" you only had domestic billionaires buying titles (Jack Walker, Blackburn 94/95).

Without Arse-Shaving it was better!!!!

many players has been retired.
Well noticed...that is bizarre!!!
Maybe the players know that one day he'd join Chelsea!!
How on earth did Wreh start infront of Wright
Because Wright had been out injured for alot of the season and Wreh came in and scored some vital goals in the run in and was the in form player at the time.

No noise from the arsenal boys, we are defiant even when we lose
Congrats Arsenal FC winning the FA Cup but for Newcastle their noises Cup 🤠😜

I don't think Anelka even liked himself? Nasty Nick eh?
notice no none came to celebrate with him!! did they not like him our something
Anelka was barely born 27 years ago stupid... many of these players didn't play professional football 27 years ago. None did XD

Just too corporate - football is fans standing on the terraces not sitting in seats having a meal and playing on an iPhones
You are correct 😥
