I think DS deserves a lot more credit too! The babies having different abilities that can help you through stages was a great idea. They even hint at modern Yoshi in the ending!
19:50 Fun fact, when you first see the goal in the upper screen when you are down in the section with M blocks, if you bring a flower enemy and place it on the blocks and jump with it you actually can get up there and grab the goal skipping half the autoscroll! I don't remember if there were undodgable coins there but i loved to do that as a kid :)
I had to yank my left earphone out at 44:09 because there was some weird ASMR sound effect that was really unpleasant to listen to. People whispering like that makes my skin crawl
Have really enjoyed watching your challenge videos and hope your channel grows so you make more, so I will say keep when you upload in mind! yt can't recommend people videos when they're asleep!
One of my childhood DS games! If you ever plan on doing mario 64 with lowest coins, id recomend the DS version as it has more characters. allowing you to get past more coins! And im pretty sure that star that turns baby mario into super baby mario is meant to be like a baby??? version of the starman powerup.
Yoshi's Island DS is not a bad sequel but I do take issue with Yoshi's new sprite and the OST. The original game overall just has the better aesthetic, visually and in the music. No Yoshi game since SNES Island has had a soundtrack even close to that games. Nostalgia plays a huge factor I'm sure (SNES Yoshi's Island is my favorite platformer game ever) but I have a genuine love for music in general and just find the original games music to be much better composed. Great video though. Nice to see a Yoshi game get some love.
Despite this game being a part of my childhood too, I have little to no memory of most of the boss fights, so I’m gonna try to see what names come to mind when I see them again in this video. In order: -Bashful Burt Bros. -Hector the Collector -Peter the Poltergeist -Rocky Piranha -Charles the Cheep Cheep (I forgot what this boss was immediately after it was over so I had to go back in the video to see what it was) -Terrence the Terrible Termite -Ferris Frank -Stan the Stilted -Gran Goony -Bowser and Bowser
branching out to more video games is a great idea. its harder to get burnout with a wider varitiy of games, and even if people dont quite like the game you make a chalenbge for, they would probably like it since your good at these types of chalenge vids. like now people who stay subbed will be cause they like how you do things and not just a specific game series, allowing for better future growth. also vidya gaem make brain go bbrbrbrbrbr
Wait, 2-3 is where that song comes from? Ive heard that song all the time and always wondered where it was from, since it sounded so familiar. I played the GBA port of the first yoshi's island, but never DS. I've heard it was good, probably should play it someday
It’s the single most important game to the Mario lore, so that’s a point in its favor for me and the other ten people that are interested in that for some reason, probably none of which none of whom are anyone making Mario games.
It's strange. I can remember with absolute certainty that I played Yoshi's island on my DS as a kid, but even as early as level 1-2 is something I don't recognize at all. Was I playing an emulation of the original without realizing it or is my memory just that bad?
0:10 hmmm. Phantom hourglass and Spirit tracks..... although, i think some people have gotten past the ds stylus gimmicks... so i dunno if not that, then skyward sword, but that also had HD remake... so ill note that the Wii's version had better motion controls, oddly. (well. wii remote plus was a better way of doing motion detection, instead of ONLY being a gyroscope like the joycons are... so thats probably why)
For me, the looked down upon game in a beloved franchise is easily Skyward Sword. I didn't even realize it was hated until waitching Linkus7 hate on it a lot, it's easily one of the best games, top 5, in the series, 2nd half has some of if not the best dungeons, aswell as, in my opinion, the best boss in the series. And yet it gets so much undeserved hate. I swear if Skyward Sword was first released on switch in stead of the wii, exactly how it is, people would happily call it top 5 if not top 3. Anyways, great video
i feel you could have avoided that coin in 1-2 just take an enemy in yoshi’s mouth and spit them out upwards unto the blocks or mushrooms and jump on them before they fall off and flutter up
So, remember that comment I made a couple videos back about trying to beat it on the original hardware? Yeah, considering the amount of frame-perfect jumps in this challenge, forget I said anything...
Great analysis, thank you! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
13:25 "I have no clue what this dude's name is."
The stage is called Gilbert the Gooey's Castle
So that's Gilbert
Gilbert the gooey
I always liked Yoshi's Island DS a lot, the enemy gallery was a fun addition to run through

Yoshi's Island DS was one of my favorite games as a kid, and I'm so glad you made this video. What a nostalgia trip! ❤❤

I love this game as well, it was full of so many original ideas we don't see in most 2D platformers
this is great! an often forgotten game that’s so near and dear to my heart. glad to see you branching out content!
Finally Something to Watch : )
Have really enjoyed watching your challenge videos and hope your channel grows so you make more, so I will say keep when you upload in mind! yt can't recommend people videos when they're asleep!
He's only been here for a few months, but he gre really fast. I was one of his first 50 subs.
26:33 This isn't even a cry, it's screams of the darned!
This game was a part of my childhood. Played it so much. I still have never been able to get past the really long cave autoscroller in world 5 tho.
I have NEVER played Yoshi's Island DS. This was a fun watch!
23:10 I don't think the problem is Yoshi not being able to swim, I think it's that they don't want the babies to drown.
To answer your question at the start, I quite like Paper Mario Sticker Star
Mine is yoshi’s new island.
I guess Sonic Heroes fits the description.
Reach’s 4-7 holy ****ing s***! That’s a lot of coins.
Nice vid 😎👌👌
We movin away from kirby, epic

Kirby Squeak Squad. Or Canvas Curse.
One of my childhood DS games!

-Terrence the Terrible Termite
-Ferris Frank
-Stan the Stilted
-Gran Goony
-Bowser and Bowser
Awesome video!
Yoshi's Island DS!!!! My first game I bought myself, I love it so much. I need to finish the enemy gallery & challenge levels at some point...
Please consider tackling Woolly or Crafted World! I’d love to see more Josh on this channel :D

I KNEW there was something FISHY about that water!
Never played or seen this game before!! I won't even guess! But I'm having a nice time already
I love this series, I'm so curious how much time it typically takes to get all the footage, especially with all the pixel-perfect jumps
@@anitathompson2838 each game various. This one was about 7 1/2 hours
Wait, 2-3 is where that song comes from? Ive heard that song all the time and always wondered where it was from, since it sounded so familiar. I played the GBA port of the first yoshi's island, but never DS. I've heard it was good, probably should play it someday
Never played this game but always wanted to because I thought look fun. Also my lord that 5-5 rant
I remember getting stuck at 3-4 for so long as a kid, I don’t recall ever actually getting past it
Neat! Do you think a Minimum % run would be interesting, or would it overlap too much with Minimum Coins?
THE ONLY GAME THAT HAS A HIGHER RESULT IS KIRBY PLANET ROBOBOT
Just fyi, the final boss isn't baby Bowser's dad, it's Bowser who time travelled in the past lmao
To also answer your question at the start like somebody else, my favorite black sheep is Dark Souls 2.
It’s the single most important game to the Mario lore, so that’s a point in its favor for me and the other ten people that are interested in that for some reason, probably none of which none of whom are anyone making Mario games.

You were playing the GBA port of the SNES game on your DS. I had the same experience

44:07 Is it just me, or does it kinda look like they are doing a Kirby victory dance?

Anyways, great video
Answering your starting question: Super Mario 64 DS
For the Intro question: Dark Souls 2.
i feel you could have avoided that coin in 1-2 just take an enemy in yoshi’s mouth and spit them out upwards unto the blocks or mushrooms and jump on them before they fall off and flutter up
7:12 you’d think the devs would’ve accounted for that?
So, remember that comment I made a couple videos back about trying to beat it on the original hardware?
Yeah, considering the amount of frame-perfect jumps in this challenge, forget I said anything...
Thank god for save states
Great analysis, thank you! Could you help me with something unrelated: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
The game I think of is Shining Pearl.
Yoooo
Do yoshis have cloacas? 🤔
Wait, who on earth considers DKC3 to be weaker than DKC1?
sonic chronicles is mine
a red coin is a RED coin bruh. of course it wont count as a gold coin.
People hate this game?! I thought it was inoffensive at worst.
Goodness, Yoshi's Island DS. A good game casually, but Miserable and Obnoxious to 100%.
