Playing PS1: "OMG, look at this graphics!!! It's like a movie!"
So many memories!
😂
Grand turismo 2 ... i felt like that ... nowadays i look at it and my eyes fall off ...
@@tingtingting7 ps4 exclusive like god of war and ghost of tsushima are VERY creative games
@@tingtingting7 No Fifas DID aways evolve in the Ps4. There WAS a difference between Fifas 16 to 19. But from 19 to 20 maybe not so much.
DonProduction it’s good game for sure but creative?
You damn right! Ps1 is still movie tier in my eyes.🤣
Graphics and controls have come a long way but watching "Tenchu" reminded me of how many top notch titles there were for PS-1.
Once PS1 added the analog sticks games started to control way better.

"You have done well"
Yeah it’s crazy to see. After watching this, I feel like Tenchu was actually ahead of its time.
lets hope the bring tenchu back for ps5
That was pretty close, but the PS1 is the clear winner.

The jump from PS1 to PS2 feels like an actual generation leap. The other ones, not so much.
Right
Most people say ps2 to ps3 was the biggest jump but they never heard of onimusha 4 dawn of dreams they just play gta they probably think resident evil 4 is ps3 game lmao
Normie eyes cant see past ps2 graphics
@@riptidev10 oh yeah gameplay wise and hardware wise ps2 was a gaint leap and normies don’t understand that and like I said there are ps2 games that have really good graphics that look like a ps3 game but they only play gta so they wouldn’t know
@@armorwolf7934 that doesn't have to do with current gen. PS2, PS3 games are already considered old games so it doesn't matter even after you repeat the same thing to me
"Can you still not notice the difference, mom?!"
"Stop yelling and turn off that NES"
Mom: Nope
"Games never teach you anything!"
“It all looks the same to me”
Lucky my mom can because she's a gamer.
0:00 Damn, Sekiro 2 lookin' pretty good
Fun fact: Sekiro is heavily inspired by Tenchu, which Fromsoft published back in the day. So Sekiro is more like Tenchu 6.5 or whatever.
Sekiro is not that great dark souls and bloodborne way better. The gameplay in Sekiro o overly difficult in a stupid way so for anyone who couldn’t kill certian bosses can never finish the game, they cant summon someone to help or build their character to over power there is only one playable way and thats to sit and die over and over until you know every single move its boring and lazy especially having the bosses over and overs also having two hard bosses after each other. Thats not making it harder thats just lazy and no customization. Not trying to say sekiro terrible just saying next one should play better not easier but more option.
@@shaunschneeberger6301 sekiro isn't overly hard lol. Learn how to parry
@@shaunschneeberger6301 git gud
@@shaunschneeberger6301 im with you, i platinumed dark souls and bloodborne but sekiro doesnt give you the option to make a character build to suit your playstyle. The most notable change was from PS1 to PS2, then everything else looks more like an upgrade.
It's from ps 2 to ps 3 for me

agreed it was crazy
Ps2 graphics are so beautiful
Every console has made some pretty big leaps. PS5 will be noticable because the PS4 was outdated on release.
Tenchu needs a next-gen reboot. Definitely in my top 5 for ps games.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I NEED ALL TENCHU REMASTERS AND REMAKES AND AT LEAST the next installment in the new gen consles.
Sekiro was initially supposed to be another Tenchu game but things changed during development and it became its own game instead
Sum 1 for sure. I thought everyone has forgotten about that franchise. I still love Tenchu 2 and 3

But...but... Ray Tracing is a gimmick remember?!?? It’s only good when your console gets it huh?!??
Props for using Onimusha footage! One of the games that truly pushed the PS2 hardware to its limits.
Watching this video is one thing. But having LIVED through each generation is a totally different experience. Truly blessed if you witnessed the evolution and were part of it to the present day. God bless oldschool gamers. They are the reason gaming is popular mainstream culture now
Watching since Atari. It is amazing of how far games have come, and of how old I feel too. XD
Since coleco vision, swag master system, Atari and so on here
@@KP-my1ud swag master system? I must have missed that one. No wonder I never had swag growing up...

Sound effects on ps1 are still impressive. When blade hits blade.
All I am hearing is "fuck fuck" when the player gets hit
hahahhaH true
Yeah true I like that
How is that impressive? Lmao
not sure if this is sarcastic comment but ps2 tenchu had exact same sound effects.
So it looks to me as though general movement and animation of game characters took a massive quantum leap from the PS1 to the PS2 era, the likes of which we haven’t seen since. I don’t mean graphics, but just the smooth way in which characters move. Everything in the PS1 era looked very staccato and jittery (and not just because of resolution). Then suddenly in the PS2 era everything started moving super smoothly. All advances in animation since then have been small incremental improvements and fine tuning in comparison
@Mr. SaladSpork PogU
The ps2 was the one that started using the joystick, so naturally movement would improve
Character animation didn't receive a massive jump from a visual standpoint because when we get ultra realistic character animations people complain about input lag and clunky gameplay, example: RDR2. There was quote from a lead animator of EA Motive that was like this: "“We could probably do 100% realistic animation in games if we weren’t fighting player’s expectations for response.", and this really sums it all, you can't have both.
On PS1 i'm guessing it's because the characters are so low poly, you couldn't get good animation, if you wanted to.
@@Papoide well, higher hz=faster response.
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams was amazing. Sad to think that so many old school classics no longer exist
i found a copy of it at a pawn shop after beating Onimusha 2 and 3, then went on to get the the final boss and quit for like 4 months and then come back to beat him first try....good times
All I'm saying is, return to the game in a few years y'all. Do the 100 demon realm gauntlet when you have max healing and magic healing items, upgrade only the Good skills to max aka Criticals, Helm splitter and whatever else you wanna rock since you'll be loaded up on skill points. Then you'll have the sword Nobunaga used in his demon form at the end of Oni 3. Most damaging weapon in the game and you can do it for side charecters as well to make the final boss rush easier.
💯💯💯
"Tenchu" still one of the best games ever made.
Yeah... no

The PS1 and the 5th generation of consoles was the biggest leap in gaming in my opinion because the shift from 2D to 3D was just mind blowing for people like myself who grew up playing the likes of tomb raider and sega rally. I guess it's just something only the people from that generation can truly appreciate.

PS1: Expect dancing shapes and nothing more for graphics, lighting is non existent aside from globular static light maps, LOD distance isn’t a thing as geometry is loaded directly in front of the player to save up as much resources as possible average game size is 250MB
PS2: Actual discernible characters and world geometry with visible and definable detail, everything looks like how it should although a bit rough around the edges since most resolutions are VGA-720p and there is no anti aliasing, lighting is here but still very static and does change, but looks somewhat convincing and LOD distance is now a thing that makes worlds believable with adequate viewing distance of player bound sections of maps ( open worlds still are heavily limited and sectioned off from loading screens ) average game size 1 GB
PS3: PS2 graphics scaled to HD resolutions and drastically improved texture details and lighting that is somewhat dynamic and interactable with but is totally rasterized. LOD distances are even further creating more immersion as you can see decently far, open worlds are very doable and convincing. all with plenty of resources to spare for some artistic freedom, average game size is 10 GB
PS4: A drastic and complete overhaul to everything, complex character models with small visible imperfection details, full tessellation, FHD-4K texture support, full bump mapping, ambient occlusion, SSAO, active light refraction, light rays and cascading full water tessellation and transparency, basically there is nothing to really complain about. LOD distances are as far as the eye can see generally the entire playable world can be seen in any spot, average game size 40 GB
PS5: The next generation never looked so crispy with 4K-8k texture support, extremely fine animations, lighting is mostly ray traced if not partially rasterized, global illumination, sub surface scattering, 3D geometry and complexity is 1:1 with reality as its captured with photogrammetry. Environments are almost completely dynamic with many outcomes and player choices ( depends on the game ) everything has a finer level of detail with small at first it just takes everything that much closer to the real world, artistic freedom is unlimited as developers can created whatever they can think of, bounded by nothing other than the imagination, estimated average game size 120 GB
PS6: The last significant leap in how games will look, the point at which the only thing that can be improved upon is higher resolutions but since games are all native 8k any need or want to go higher is impractical since diminishing return kicks in really hard beyond 8k. Animations are life like with incredibly accurate and realistic transitions, lighting and shadows are 100% ray traced at 8k resolutions, everything is actively tessellated and intractable to some degree. Real-time frame by frame water caustics and waking with a 100% transparency factor plus realtime fluid simulations, detail is down the the pixel a single character model from PlayStation 6 would have well over 150 million active polygons more than several entire PS3 games combined, world sizes are always open world to make the most of developing costs and worlds can be as big as the developer chooses, all loading times are done during boot up as there are zero in game cells and cutscenes happen in realtime on the hardware itself, this is the pinnacle of video game graphics. Estimated download size is 1.5 TB
My my great great grand son will able to play ps6 one day
PS7 will have VR indistinguishable from reality at times. PS8 will be completely indistinguishable from reality. We will reach singularity at about PS10 at which point we may be able to live our entire lives in a virtual world with direct brain connotations. This may be possible by the year 2055-60.

altho I usually say take any pre-release gameplay footage with a grain of salt this is actually how its gonna look if not near similar.
they don't dovvngrade their games usually. Ubisoft does.
It's release day, they aren't gonna downgrade graphics in 2 months :p
And uhm...it's PS5, how is it strange it looks good?
Also it will look better than this in-game, cause this compressed YT video 😌
@@M15FiT5x this is from the same studio that did the Shadow of the Colossus remake. I think you need an eye doctor friend
@@pillarmenn1936 lol people crazy
Cant wait to play those
The Tenchu opener. Nice.
Tenchu stealth assassins. 1 of my favorite video games of all time. They just dont make them like they used to! The soundtrack in that game is incredible! So many damn hours plugged into this series as a kid! Always makes me happy to see it again no matter what video it is. Its sad that people today will never even give it a chance because of how outdated it is to todays standards but man these people dont know what they are missing! The countless hours of joy put into becoming a master ninja! A story about honor and real japanese culture at a time when such masteful stories was rare! And the boss battles i mean come on!? Who that has played this game doesnt remember onikage as 1 of the all time greatest boss battles! And that last mission fighting 2 bosses that were so difficult! Back when games were challenging and without checkpoint! If you died you went all the way back to the start of a 30 minute map! The game required real skill. Damn i miss those times! The voice acting, graphics and controls are way outdated to todays standards but a great game will always be a great game no matter what! Good times. Those first 2 games on the ps1 were experiences of my youth ill never forget! Simply epic!
sekiro is basically tenchu grown up.
@@andreiteleuca1979 nah i liked sekiro but its not tenchu! In fact it disappointed me because the title started out as a tenchu title but because of the success of souls was transformed into sekiro. Besides, from software made tenchu z which was 1 of the worst of the entire series! So maybe we wouldnt of missed much anyway even if it had been a tenchu. The main entries are all that matter imo. Tenchu 1 2 3 and 4 were all awesome! Even tho 3 was made by a different studio it was a solid effort! But the spin offs. Nah they were spin offs for a reason lol
Imagine showing someone from 1994 Footage of the New Demon's Souls remake, theyd be like "Hey look someone dressed up in medieval armor and edited the video to create health bars and make it look like a video game". Like I don't think their brains would be able to process the fact that they are looking at animations.
Dont make fun of ur ancestors .....wht if i arrive in ur time n then strt showing off gta 6 ....which is controlled by mind instead of controller and looks as real as real footage .........
@@rahulverma8774 first of all you sound dumb cuz that is not what gta 6 would be controlled with and second of all the realistic scenario would be if someone from 2080 came because 1994 animation to ps5's animation jump is as big as from 2020 to 2080 so yeah I would have a very hard time believing its a game if I played a game from 2080.
@@manjitkapri1816 disgusting
Yeah they would totally think those dragons are real
@@manjitkapri1816 you missed his joke. He was saying so much time would pass and technology will advance to crazy heights before a gta 6 would be released. Hence the controlling with minds.
Lol @ the game in the description. Vacation Simulator.
Haha the voice acting in Tenchu is hilarious
I think going from the PS4 to PS5 we see the smallest difference. I think that we have reached a plateau in graphics and what modern tech can achieve. I hope that all games are 4K 60 FPS or 1080p from now on. 😬
The graphics will be amazing a few years from now
@@prod.franchise that's right! Look at early PS4 games and titles like RDR2 or TLOU2 the graphics are amazing, even on the same system
@@niccoloesposito5788 yeah, compare that to launch titles on ps4
Tenchu looks lovely even nowadays
LOL I JUST REMEMBERED THAT FIRST TENCHU MISSION. Damn it was good.
Damn. Seeing onimusha getting some recogniton makes me feel good. Spend 100s of hours on that game when I was a kid
YES FINALLY SOMEONE WHO PLAYED ONIMUSHA THANK GOODNESSSSS
yes went to dungeon 100 to get special weapon but instead dead on the process... :D I need those kind o game to killing time again....
@@albaliem8968 i managed to get that weapon Roberto, the sword guy and the spear guy. Took me legit 8-9hours for 1 clear
