You are playing PS1 on PC emulator on a higher resolution than the original PS1 can render which gives a wrong impression that PS1 had better graphics than it actually had. You should make the video with the output resolution set to native PS1 resolution with no Anti aliasing for fair comparison.

Racing games already have all the hardware they need since Ps3. (Unless you have plans to add serious physics for Crashing Scenes - something not very family friendly)
The annoying part is that Gran Turismo 3 actually has a 16:9 display mode in the settings, but for some reason this guy decided to forgo that and just stretch the 4:3 picture instead.

Emulators for you lol, they strive to match but in some cases have weird oddities like this. Another funny one is some save boxes in Resident Evil 3 and the top being offset to the bottom, also the input lag you get in some of these emulations is just not on par.

Thanks for the share. The increment seems substantial between PS1 and 2. Then 3 looked very life-like. From there it seemed more play improvement than anything.The next bump of substance IMO, appears to be from PS3 to PS5- resolution and contrast/brightness.

Release Dates: Gran Turismo: December 23, 1997 Gran Turismo 3: April 28, 2001 Gran Turismo 6: December 6, 2013 Gran Turismo Sport: October 17, 2017 That is a massive gap from gt3 to gt6. To me that was the biggest jump but it damn well should have been.
Gran Turismo 4 was fricken fantastic for the PS2. I played that game for hours... especially after getting to the Endurance Races. At least until my PS2 up and died one day. That was a tragic day.
My PS2's spindle died one day, @@papanavarrete3152. I would of sent it in for repairs to Sony at the time, but Sony was adamant about "No repairs, only purchase a new PS2 from us!". This was also sometime soon after the PS3 came out and Sony discontinuing their PS2 production. So yeah... hard hitting at the time.

I've finished every polyphony game with all golds and I'm still playing GT sport at least twice a week. It's the best looking and has the best sound out of any GT.Bring on GT7 polyphony I can't wait.
GT1 had native support for wide screen if you set the field of view to narrow, as did GT3 if you set the aspect ratio to 16:9 Also, are you drunk while recording this?
I can personally attest to PCSX2, @@davincho0948, being extremely slow for Gran Turismo 4. As it turns out GT4 is very computationally heavy. This worked well on the PS2 due to it's architecture. For a PC to be able to run GT4 at reliable 60 fps your CPU must be at least dual core 4GHz. I have not bothered to download PCSX2 again since I have been able to play other games on Steam for much of this year. So I do not know if my new PC's CPU can handle GT4 beyond a steady 30 FPS and higher.
The game may be looking good (i never played gran turismo) but the handling and the speed looks like you are driving a car from gta 3 or vice city until gran turismo 6

So I was never a big “Gran Turismo” person, mostly because I’ve never been that much into realistic racing games. That being said, I seem to remember the graphics being much better looking in the Gran Turismo games than what was being showcased here. Is my memory just bad? I remember watching demos of the various Gran Turismo games over the years and thinking that they always pushed the hardware to the max in terms of aesthetics. People who are complaining about the emulator probably never had a PS1/X. Yes the emulator projects a better resolution than the PSX has, but if you had actually owned one in the 90s, that thing was the most realistic gaming you had ever seen. This emulator feels like how I first saw it.

Ps1 to ps2, biggest graphical jump, the the original looked most fun to play. Ps2 to ps3 was next big jump. The rest were minor increments. Ps4 video didn't look as clear as the ps5 one so probably less of a graphical jump than it looked in this video. Still thanks for sharing, nice to see across all 5 platforms.

GT1 isn't stretched actually. He either patched it or used the ePSXe wd autopatch setting.

This is a very bad comparison. Don't enhance the graphical quality with emulators when comparing old games.
