- Here's my full guide on how to beat the first encounter of the new raid Salvation's Edge. The encounter is called Substratum, and here's how to clear it from start to finish for dummies. These tips will help you clear it and make your way to that sweet new raid exotic linear fusion rifle. Good luck.

bungie was not lying when they said they busted out the hardest raid yet
Love it. Everyone moaned about nez being easy, and now it's all surprised pikacuh faces 😂
@@ByronEdwards-hz2iq I sure wasnt one of the "everyone" i got a good nights sleep with 5 mins left.
11 hours in and we never completed the 1st encounter lol edit: came back today after a rest and finished 1st encounter but we didn't even attempt any after that
Same
yeah it was fucked up
wait for tomorrow for More guides and tips and save your energy for tomorrow imo
Same it is a hell of a puzzle and we got most of it down but just couldn't figure out what we were doing wrong got to dunks a few times but it was never enough time gained
This isn't the contest mode raid y'all think it is. The best of the best team have been stuck on 4th encounter for 10 hours. Just wait until it's not contest anymore. Not worth it unless you're the 1%.
Damn! This guide made this encounter feel easier than how others have explained it.
cannot relate
good to see my map is being used!!!!
Thanks for your contribution!
One thing i dont understand here; after we kill tormentor 2nd time, ping poing plates will appear, how do people know where will they spawn and who to go on what plate?
@@Calaman228 one will glow orange, and the other will have an open pylon next to it, keep an eye out when you do the second runaround!
@@haileyredrix3102 i know how mechanic works but how do you know in which room they will glow for you to stand? Do these plates glow in rooms right before you kill 2nd tormentor?
@@Calaman228 i believe so? i think from what i know its usually the one where the overloads spawn?
Also worth noting about the rooms that open: they're always rooms next to eachother. So if someone is going into the room on the right, then the upper right or lower right room will also be open.
Helps save a few seconds
For a ''PvP'' player, that was clearly explain! Awesome raid mechanics video! Thanks!
Awesome guide. By far the most comprehensive out there, thanks TV.
Wonderful guide! Thanks, TV! Keep them coming, my friend, and appreciate what you do
Great job getting the guide out so quick. Very clear as someone who watched but couldn't hear comms and didn't really understand what triggered what.
Thx for the guide. And thx for the quality editing. Alot of guides are just explanations with background play of someone not even doing the mechanics that they're talking about. Dig the map and the pauses to show the "conductor" and others. I dig quick & concise guides like these. Thx & will share to clan discord
No one else has posted a guide yet. Teams just post their first clear of each encounter and then upload a guide after the raid.
Great guide! Hope you’re doing all the encounters, very helpful!
Excellent narration and explanation! Clear, thorough and concise. Thank you!
Great video well explained! Can't wait for the rest of the encounters. Love the whisky channel also!
I really hope you make guides for all the raid encounters, because this was an amazing guide well explained, great edits to show all the important stuff, thank you very much T V
so glad you got a chance to get a good video out before cross drops like 5 videos of just gameplay. quality video
Definitely need vids for the other encounters! This video was very helpful and well made 💯🔥
Best and clearest guide I’ve seen man. You should make them for the other encounters for sure!
Hey, this guide is extremely well done. As clear and concise as it needs to be. I'd love for you to continue with this kind of stuff!
Unfortunately its for the only encounter I've already finished and know the mechanics haha
Continue with these guides brother this will help very much!
I really appreciate the clear and concise explanations. Great video.
This is a very thorough and well put together guide TV. You should definitely do more of them.
I thought that this was a great guide and explained very well, thank you TV!
Great guide! Have not gotten the TFS yet but I am surely taking notes!
Great guide. Please keep them coming!
great guide! timely too! thanks for your dedication for the world!
Excellent guide! I would absolutely watch more PVE guides from you, TV.
Very clear and informative TV!!
im not doing contest mode, im waiting for tomorrow to play the normal version, and this video helps a lot
all other videos had no comms, no explanation at all
We were able to figure out most of the encounter, but this helped to clarify what we were missing.
I am also tsking your tip of Ground team and Basement/Attic Team.
Great explanation!! Very clear on what to do.
An actual good guide. This took my team 8 hours
Please keep making guides!!!!! Your have been nothing but great!
Please do the other encounters. This was probably the best guide compared to everyone else's
Everyone: “Ping pong is hard enough.”
Witness: “Hold my beer.”
Thank you so much for the guide!
Great job TV explaining a complex opening encounter!
Thank you TV this was very easy to understand!
Yes...this is the most concise how to raid mechanics video. More please
literally the only good video explaining this encounter, thank you
Amazing vid. Very clear instructions too
AMAZING GUIDE! appreciate it! since Destiny1 your a GOAT
This guide convinced me to sub to you! Please do more for further encounters
Great video with excellent Tips.
One plate actually lights up for each tormentor you kill, so one team can start pinging the resonance back and forth early. If each team of 3 has a thunderlord and tether you can easily kill the second tormentor with just 3 and let the first plate team focus on their loop.
You can kill the tormentor with almost any light machine gun and damaging abilities, no need to waste an exotic slot
@@SuperRONDALE thunderlord was goated for first encounter, good for tormentors, good for ads and overload. not a waste of an exotic slot
@@SuperRONDALEDefinitely not a waste, for the most part this encounter is all about staying alive and killing everything. Machine guns in general are great for this encounter. Throwing on Tlord sounds perfect for this. I used Tractor on Tormentor and he got melted in seconds every time.
People need to realize that thunderlord is a great exotic, when you’re not using it for dps like a bot. It’s a machine gun and a damn good one when you’re using it for adds and beefy targets like tormentors, like you should.
Commemoration with Reconstruction + Killing Tally put in work for me. Ran it with Izinagi's with a teammate running Div
Thank you for the guide!
So well explained, good stuff TV
Great guide!
Awesome video. Explained the mechanics in a clear and concise way. Greatly appreciated!! Pleaseee make a guide to the second and third encounters 😊
By far best video on RUclips , now we need all encounters
you had the best explanation of the closing off conductor mechanic. thanks
Beautiful Guide!!
Very well laid out. Thank you! ❤
Great explanation!
Wow great guide TV... very informative and easy to understand, I would recommend it to others. You should keep doing occasional pve content 👌
Great guide thank you so much
One of the best and thorough guides I’ve seen for a raid encounter. Hope there’s more for the remaining encounters. Thanks!
Great guide. Thanks
Very well explained!
Best guide! Thanks TV
Great guide
Tv, this video did really well. I think you should do this for every encounter!
You made it sound so easy. GG!
thanks for the guide !
Nice explanation -ty!
Trying tomorrow
Good tip buddy
Raising a nice Westwood for that (literal) last second clear 😊
Best guide! thank you
Really found helpful and clear explanations thanks for putting it together so Quick Look forward to the others and the link going into our Discord clan help section as a guide hope thats ok
Very good guide
Thank you for the video
I knew we were doing this so wrong. We had the general idea of what is going on just not the timing of everything. Man this is an awesome encounter! Shit I haven’t even seen the 2nd one I’m hyped!
First time I ever watched a video and now I know the exact mechanic, all I need is to get in there and see the layout now to separate the teams
I’m not good enough for contest on this but can’t wait to dive in after contest, this one looks like it’s gonna be a blast
TV, great guide
Got recommended to your channel during the competition mode* great video my friend
Edit:typo
I can see why many racers were stuck here, but thanks for the guide.
Nice guide i love it.. i wait for the other encounter. Pls hurry up 😅
Bro, you really do love this auto rifle😆👍
Thank you!
Concise description of this encounter, even after contest mode this is going to break a lot of teams. Coordination, mechanics and add clears all in one with a clock. Pressure cooker.
Thanks for this
One thing I’ve noticed while playing is that after the second tormenter, the glowing plates will always be in the third room that your team visited, and then the second plate is in the room AFTER that room if you had continued in the loop into a fourth room. That also means that you could big brain it and right when you see the supplicants coming out of the rooms, you know exactly where everything will happen in that phase
Seems like a good guide
Well done guide! I prefer this to Khakis and Fallout's guides.
Thanks! It’s a hard one on day one
Great video, please make a full raid with all in 5 Encounters
Clarification :
All players return to the centre, and kill the Harbinger. This closes all side doors and spawns another Resonant Chest, where you can dunk all your Pyramidal Resonance. Each resonance you dunk increases the Final Shape Looms wipe timer by 20 seconds, up to a cap of 3m20s total (10 Resonance). After a short while, you start again at Phase 1.
You don't need to dunk a specific amount of Resonance to finish. You might have to dunk at least 1 per cycle, though this hasn't been confirmed. The dunks are mainly for the wipe timer.
The encounter is always 3 cycles, when you dunk for the 3rd time the encounter ends and you can continue to next traversal.
Thanks ! 😊
if you are running out of time on third run of ping pong , can you end it earlier ? since all you need to do is dunk into the center room chest.
@@siongyigan7696 a bit late of a reply but yes. You don't need 3 stacks on your last cycle. It's always 3 cycles.
you are worth GOLD mate.
Thanks mate =)
thank you
So the ultimate goal is to bank XX amount of resonance and the bullet points to doing so are:
1. Hydras open doors
2. Open doors lead to overloads
3. Overloads spawn tormentors
4. Tormentors activate plates
5. Plates spawn resonance
6. Obelisk turns off plates (and I'm assuming both being turned off is what spawns the chest to deposit????)
7. Depositing resonance extends timer/eventually ends encounter
Is that all correct? Thanks for the guide, actually very well laid-out!
We did this for 6 hours, figured out how to do it, but half of us never raided before and did not have the equipment for this lol. It was fun tho!
After the 1st tormentor the 1st team can technically start their plate mechanic if your team is coordinated enough. We were getting enough at about 1 min and pushing our timer to max about everything. The 1st team gets done super fast and can help with ad clear.
something to note is that if the light is at your plate, there will be a ring around the plate that shrinks very fast and plays a sound if you didn't see it go into the plate you can use that as a quick heads up that oh, i need to step on it
Oh please TV make a guide for the rest of the raid, Id like to try soon
painful to see this video, because it confirms my team had it all figured out, just couldnt pull it off
Can you do guides for the other encounters? 🤞
Good explanation. Got a little muddled when you started explaining the plate mechanic though. You started out saying you need TWO people to manage plate. Then jumped and said 4 people need to manage and get essence and step on plate. Was a little confusing. But overall the most comprehensive and concisely explained guide I have seen and EARLY.
2 teams of 2, four plates total and one person for each plate. Then 2 floaters.
TV - this is amazing content. More pve guides please.
First plate is always where first overlord spawn
Is it correct that the glowing plates will be in the third room each team cleared before killing the second tormentor? Or are the glowing plates always in the rooms where the overloads are killed?
