The voting will be open for 1 week from today .
Cheers James. I'll be watching the vid no matter what you end up building.
LPJ Models.. The channel, where building a diorama base sounds like Rohirrim crushing into the Orc's open flank at the battle of the Pelennor fields.
Love it!
Ha ! Get out of here stalker !
Thankyou I appreciate it, It was really hard to choose what music to use and I spent hours searching through the Epedemic Sound archives, but it all came back to epic fantasy soundtracks 😀
Night shift squad, assemble! This is amazing mate, that wall is PRIME!
Thanks Numptee ! Much appreciated, as some people have said it could have done with a bit of grout but I'm still pleased with it 😀
You know what? That’s pretty bloody good! 👍🏻👌🏻
Thanks a lot :)
Beautiful work on the base. I like the brick mold. Nice and easy way to make them. Wonderful work.
Thanks Vic
good job diorama base for the minerva
As a KV, I definately want to see the KV-1.
Excellent base build! Looking forward to the figures.
I hope tamiya bring out a kv-2 I could interview the original when building it for tips!
Hoping to keep the weekly schedule up until I have to go back to work so figures should be next week
@@lpjmodels yes, I agree. I'll be sure to give you all the info you need.
Good looking. I always enjoy your work. Also, I appreciate to share this video. Please stay safe and have a nice week end.
Thanks My Freind! And you as well take care
Superb work. Wonderful attention to detail. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Steve !
Damn those bricks are nice, wonderful colors
Thanks Petra !
Really enjoyed the build thanks so much for sharing. Now its back to the T34 and the tracks.
Best of luck with the build Nick !
Excellent work, James....the diorama is super and sets the Minerva off really well. The figures will be the 'icing on the cake' so as to speak so will be watching closely for that notification in the future. Actually, the edging is quite rustic and fits in nicely with the rest of the diorama (in my opinion!!). The KV or the ship (just for a change) are my pick. See you on the next one.
Thanks Robbo ! That makes me feel a bit better about the edging, one of those things that might grow on me :)
KV is in the lead, im really surprised with how many people have voted ! See you soon
i would like to see the "FCM 35" French tank next. Great work on the diorama for the 'Minerva'. Fantastic
Wow 🤯 a Lot of work, very impressive 😉👍
Great Job 👍👍👍
Greetings from Germany 🤘😝
Thanks Hugo !
I always enjoy your videos and this was no exception. Cheers James. Stay safe!
Thanks Ferb ! You too !
GREAT JOB !!!!!!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Again a great and wonderful build 👏
Thanks mate !
Looks great,A tip when you do your base start of with black as a under coat ,then go light it give shadows to the soil and the stones .m
Thanks Paul that's a great idea ( I do it with everything else so why not a base )
Hi James excellent diorama mate looks really cool set's off your armoured car off nicely look forward to the figure video well done buddy. Cheers Gary.
Thanks Gary ! I need to get cracking
Bang on mate!! When i did a wall once! I use wall plaster mixed it so it was quite thin slap it on then with a damp sponge wipe it away any and it will take any of the gritty bits its abit like grouting lol
Good idea mate !
I enjoyed your autogyro video by the way . Paintwork came out really good
@@lpjmodels thank! Wasnt to bad! Something diffrent😁
Very nice - I love the attention to detail with things like the moss on the walls. Really quality result!
Thanks mate !
Beautiful !!! Love the way you molded your bicks by yourself. A tedious work... but you were rewarded with the result !!!!
It looks so great. I love it. Very nicely made 💪😀♥️
really nice work on that "Vinette" base James. The brick moulds are pretty cool and turn out very realistic looking bricks. Next time try edging the base with styrene sheet. It's cheap and gives a nice clean look to the edges. I'd like to see you build the ship or the T-34 but any of them would be cool. Cheers!
Thanks Scott much appreciated, the base sides were my biggest fluff up and I have leant my lesson! Styrene seems pretty low hassle so thats a great idea thanks !
At the mo the KV is winning but I think after whatever wins there may be something nautical either way.
That's the best part... we learn from our mistakes. I just made one on my Spitfire, LOL! The KV is a great subject as well and the Tamiya kit should be a bloody nice one. Cheers!
Nice Work!!!!
Great job. Thanks.
Buddy... This wall just looks perfect!!! Thanks for sharing the trick with the pigments and the container. My bricks always looked too clean... The Diorama just turned out great!!! I vote for the kv-1 or t-34!!!
Maye your wish is my command. The KV-1 won ! Hope I do as well as your kv !
you should use balsa wood planks for the edge of the base. cheap and looks great.
Good tip thanks !
An excellent diorama! ... a masterpiece !!! ... thanks for sharing ... Cheers Markus
Thanks Markus !
Was a bit late to the premiere but what a treat! Thanks James!
No worried VMS thanks for coming!
@@lpjmodels And watched twice afterwards. :)
Great job on the dio James! The details are fantastic as usual. Looking forward to seeing the finished figures to go with the Minerva.
Keep up the great work.
Cheers from Australia!
Thanks Gary ! The figures took a backseat this week, I kept messing them up for some reason so I had to take a step back but I'll be back on em soon.
Outstanding job mate, you've now inspired me to attempt a diorama myself. Gonna use some very helpful tips from this video. Cheers mate, stay safeand keep em coming my vote by 5he way is the KV😁😉👍
You'll do a great job when you do ! Thanks mate! (Kv is currently in the lead !)
@@lpjmodels would be nice to see the colour modulation and weathering you'll do mate. Stay safe guys😊😉👍
Very cool !!! 👍👍👍👍
Great job, very realistic! For the edges of the base, I use balsa wood cut to size and stained with thinned oils (browns or blacks), it finishes the base really nicely. Excellent channel, you're getting up there w/ Plasmo and Nightshift!
That's a tremendous compliment Maurizio thankyou, and a very helpful tip. With the base on my kubel dio I had the right idea, next time I'll do better !
Yeah definately i vote for the KV-1 from Tamiya!
Its in the lead at the moment
Wonderful
Thanks Wade !
*Such a nice diorama, it look so realistic! 👍👏*
Great diorama James. It's going to have plenty of atmosphere when you get those figures on. A pale pigment wash may work well for the mortar wiped off with a cotton bud?
Good Idea Sera thanks ! I didnt think it would matter too much, but a few folks have pointed it out.
@@lpjmodels Kathy Millat did quite a good vid tutorial on rubble etc for a bombed out building.
Excelent video mate!
Cheers mate !
Lovely work as always, mate. I really admire your patience!
Cheers mate hope you're well !
Nice dio! Love the brick mold idea! I was going to buy premodern but much prefer your idea....If it helps I face my bases with balsa wood, you can stain or airbrush....easy to fix in place, easy to cut to size and sand....and off cuts from eBay or amazon are dirt cheap!
Thanks steve ! We do balsa at work so its not hard for me to get, I think the hardest bit will be cutting the dio at right angles 😅
always a pleasure to watch your work! when is on the board next?
Thanks Michel, the votes were cast and the Tamiya KV-1 won, but after that there might be something that sinks
Top diorama!!!
Hi James looking forward to watching your diorama build buddy.
Thanks Gary ! Hope you enjoy it
That turned out great, looks really good! Cheers
Thanks Berra1991
perfect!!
Tidy diorama right there
Thanks Mate !
Thanks, I can learn a lot from you, your work is awesome !
Thanks a lot Xwator
Good stuff. Cheers.
Doing an unscripted stand up in front of a camera is tough! Really enjoying the vids and I have bought a CSM armoured car as a result. Keep up the good work!
You'd be surprised how much it happens when I'm running through the scripts on the trickier sections. I'm not a big talker , but having a YT means I gotta talk !
Enjoy the armoured car, they are really nice kits
HI James
Looking forward to the ICM Fcm 36 with the difficult paint job , as your subscribers wouldn't vote for anything else . OK if you have to the T34 with extra armour please.
Thanks Steve ! Its hard edge as well.. something that terrifies me
Impressive
The brick wall looks amazing, best I have seen. I like the footprints in the diorama but you didn’t mention it in your voice over (unless I missed it?) Great work!
Thanks Ari 😊 the boot prints I completely forgot to mention and they were really just where the figures will be glued in the next vid.
Nice shirt
Cheers ! Just turned up last week
Excellent work!, I see that you are planning on using the model cellar figures and not the CSM ones?.
Both are great figures, I got these ones as a present !
love this car. I modeled it in 3D. Is a Belgian war vehicle from 1914
Johnny its a cool vehicle, did it take you long?
@@lpjmodels It's a very great vehicle. It was very demanding and took a lot of time because of the details
Well, whole completed diorama looks really good, thus its shame that...
1) Bricks - colour and moulding them as you did is awesome. But bricks are not stacked just like that. You need to hold them together with grout/mortar (not English person so do not know the right term) and its always visible in gaps between bricks. But do not know how your reference photo looked like...
2) Edging of the base - best you can do (if you do not want to buy some pre-made diorama base) is using flat styrene sheet, wood plate or some "hard paper" (not cardboard) like 2-3 mm thick. And do it before everything. Just make frame of material you have chosen, then add material for base, than clay or whatever and go on... but careful with water based products if you choos that thick paper.
I really love the road - mud, grass, leaves and the small tree. As I said, all in all it looks really good but there is still space to improve. (As we all have...)
So cheers and carry on with your work, its really good quality of modeling!
Thanks Mikulàš, those are some very good points.
The wall to be honest I didnt want to mess up, there have been a few good comments with tips on how to do it better, which when I get around to doing a wall again has given me some confidence.
I have had some good results with plywood in the past I think I was just unprepared (which is unlike me ) thankyou for the tips its much appreciated !
i like your videos and i would like to see t-34 to please
Thanks Noel
A realy great base for the Minerva! Did you already put up the video related to painting the shown figures?
Unfortunately I never got round to it !
@@lpjmodels Thanks for the feedback. Can you let me know which figures they are? Very difficult to find Belgian military WW1 figurus.
@@HeirweghB a few companies do some, The model cellar and copper state both do resin ones. I also think either ICM or Masterbox are bringing out some styrene ones soon
Don’t like the way you glued the bricks together without any visible mortar course...looks really odd.
Yeah lesson learnt for next time. That being said I wasn't going to mix up a layer to put between. Too many things to go wrong
I vote for the T 134
