The twintercooler is definitely a pretty creative idea that forge came up with. Why not make use of the stock one in addition if it's in good shape, so it makes sense. I think the only thing I'd change is to some T-bolt clamps rather than the worm gear ones. I mean the worm gear ones are probably okay because this isn't a super high boost application, so the worm gear ones probably wouldn't blow off, but it's mainly a preference thing. I use the T-bolts anytime I can on charge piping/ intercooler flanges. Definitely a clean/ simple install and solution. Thanks for sharing 👍😁
Great video I’ve just found problem with mine the valve cover evap line leaks when 5psi applied it was the last thing I checked after bore scope, compression test leak down test new pcv new n80 new evap canister ha hope this solves problem Monday when I get my new cover 🤞wish I could tig like that even though you didn’t think it was that good great video mate
Cheers mate, my TIG welding on clean Ali is quite good, but the contamination on the pipe meant the weld pool was always compromised. Grinding back and redoing it got it to where i left it. It'll certainly do 👍
You make it look so simple and I agree totally with you about welding that adaptor on the charge pipe. Those Rtech welders are spot on for the money! Be interesting to see how much the extra intercooler makes in terms of cooling and power. Would it make it a bit slower to boot up, slightly more laggy? Thinking if its going through more cooling stuff that its slower in getting to the engine? I suppose once the system is charged it won’t make a difference, or I could be wrong lol
Yep our Rtech Tig is immense 👍 I've tuned a load of cars with twintercoolers and not noticed any additional lag. Just like the runner flaps, if you change the system that much with a bigger turbo, and then cool it... the bigger volume of charge, plus additional cooling and therefore dense air actually equals an improvement over hot oem stuff 😬
@@DecimalTenths totally agree, they still make fairly good power with a standard cooler on especially with a ko4 so it's only going to be an improvement and it looks cool as the normal replacement airtec cooler still sits in the middle of the rad pack I think
Regarding standard intercooler connections....is there any recognised fix to stop them blowing off ...I have a Leon FR where there it's only a matter of time before passenger side continually blows off ...a new pipe lasted several thousand miles even gave up & what I thought would be permanent fix 'assembled' with Tiger Seal this didn't hold either was thinking jubilee clip over the retaining clip 🤔
I have a question for you or anyone else who has installed the twinter cooler... With this install have you experienced any boost lag down low? My boost seems to hit somewhere around 2800 3000
Healthy crank, no start on my 06 mk5 jetta gli (tfsi). Just finished up walnut blasting injectors and timing belt service. Advice on tracking down the not start?
That car is so sexy with those eyes. Do you think that adding the twintercooler cause any noticeable turbo lag since the volume has been increased? I don't build racecars, so this may seem like a n00b question.
Good question, I've never noticed additional lag from these intercooler. But most full intercooler will have a big difference in volume over the stock item, so will be comparable I'd imagine.
In your best guess, how well will it keep the temperature down? My intake temperature always seems to be around 20degree higher that the outside temp. Example of the outside temperature gauge is reading 88 degrees, my AIT will read between 108 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Is this normal?

Cheers! We have great work drive over here from Jubilee and JCS. Both great options.
All the cooling !
Great job Nick its all taking shape 👍🏻
Cheers pal, definatley coming together. Next few videos will see it sorted
Wicked video mate looking forward to seeing you mapping it and learning about that process ect. 🖒👊✌
Yessssss! Love it mate.
Come one man , continue with this project !!! We are waitining for new content
Sorry dude busy boy. Back at it this week
That cossie though 🔥😍
Ha more on that soon...😉

New lights make a huge difference to the look of the car. The jazz blue Lupo in the background looks interesting?
They do don't they 👍. That's Richards little hybridturbo 1.8t Lupo. Lovely little car which is at the end of its build now.

@@DecimalTenths makes sense thank you Nick. Excited for the next instalment
This or the direnza?? Torn between a twinter cooler or a direct replacement
We often fit the Forge full size replacement these days which along with the Airtec Stage 2 are the best
I quite like that twin cooler set up, it's a bit funky
Funny for sure. Will work for what I need 👍

They are gash, hate them. They can wear and cause issues so good to inspect and confirm, you're might be goosed
It is a good choice, mount it on a stock car, without map it?
Not long to go now man 😁👍
Wellycooler is the best intercooler for the tfsi, especially the k04. They perform far better than wagner or airtec
Almost like you didn't watch the video...🤣
@@DecimalTenths I do enjoy your videos, it's good to have some decent tfsi content mate 👌
@@cuprak1lad543 Cool, our track car Mk5 will be a bit wilder 🔥😬
Ho nick! Nice video! I bought the same for my mk6 gti. Does it need welding?? Or can I simply use those adapters without any problem? Thanks!
Cheers! You can use the adaptors, however they may leak depending on the condition of your pipes and seals
Great stuff, really coming together now, did you mention where you bought the headlights? I can’t remember 🤦🏻
Probably not pal, but they came off good ol ebay 😁
Nice job 👍
Can i ask. Is it worth juat sticking with the usual larger intclr, or what is this smaller one like?
This option runs both the stock intercooler and the smaller fmic
when going for budget then this is the deal, but im going to replace mainman to DO88
Hi guys.. I am wondering if this one could fit my Audi A3 8P 2009 facelift??? Got the great offer from the GTI MK5 owner... Thanks!
It will 👍👍
@@DecimalTenths No modifications required? Same hoses?? Cheers man!!
I have a question for you or anyone else who has installed the twinter cooler...
With this install have you experienced any boost lag down low? My boost seems to hit somewhere around 2800 3000
No we don't see any issues like that with the twintercooler fitted. We have only ever fitted Forge ones though
Anyone know the part number for the mk6 intercooler so i order the right one before fitting my twintercooler 🤔
Healthy crank, no start on my 06 mk5 jetta gli (tfsi). Just finished up walnut blasting injectors and timing belt service. Advice on tracking down the not start?
Is there a way to manually prime the fuel system? (lpfp -> hpfp -> injectors)
Hi what are the intercooler dimensions? Thanks
Would this not make the turbo more laggy as it's got more to fill before making Boost?
No the response is immense 👌
Loving the content mate! What brand condenser did you use? I need a new one too!
Just one from the local motro factors pal. Can't even remember 🙈
@@DecimalTenths Damn! the fitment looks well. I’ve heard some from euros etc have fitment problems.

What has happened to the track car?
It's making a huge comeback this winter...😂😂
What power can you get out of these
The twintercooler? Check my other tuning video
where did u buy those headlights? works with halogen?
More info coming, but the headlamps were off ebay
🖒 happy days
Sweet 👏
Hi, does it prevent boost leaks?
It can simplify the system to prevent boost leaks yes
Ive heard this fits a Mk6 GTI. Is that true?
Yes it does 👍. I run the Mk6 intercooler and forge twitter cooler.
Do forge quote BHP increases for this? Or have you dyno’d without and with?
No they don't quote, bit I've tuned cars with this setup to stage2+ k04 levels in the past and its been fine. I'll show it all when tuning it.

Does the "twin intercooler " make it laggy mate?
Not from my experience of them.
Thanks bruv.
Hi, does it work for the mk6 gti?
It does indeed 👍👍
How much does the Twin IC lower intake temps? Cheers
Quite a lot, and can support stage2+ tuning no problem
In your best guess, how well will it keep the temperature down?

It will help with Intake temps with no ill effect. It isn't needed unless mapped though.
