Repentance is NOT a works-based salvation! We repent after being born again because He has given us a new heart and we see our sins for exactly what they are and that is gross, vile, filthy. When we see them, our sins, we are full of sorrow a sadness and we repent of them, not as a work, not adding anything to salvation we do it out of a new heart that is humbled before the Lord and a hatred for what we once were. After you are born again you become a new creation in Christ Jesus old things have passed away all things have become new. We no longer do what we use too, we no longer enjoy sinful desires or pleasure, no, we are truly repentive concerning them! When God removes your heart of stone and gives you a heart of flesh you will no longer practice sin, you will be sorrowful every time you commit sin and you will repent with great remorse and sorrow. Repenting has nothing to do with "WORKS" it becomes a part of your holy character after being born again. If you still practice sin, you still lie, steal, fornicate, curse, to name a few and claim you are a born-again believer, you need to go back to the altar because a true born again believer will not practice sin. No we are not sinless we will commit sin, but we do not sin willfully we do not practice sin meaning we do not continue to sin knowingly. And when a true believer does sin they become sorrowful, full of remorse and repent of it.
I am very thankful I was directed to you! Sad there is so many that are deceived by their idea that repenting is a form of works. It saddens me to see so many change the Gospel of Jesus Christ and ignore the Word of God. It is by Grace through faith we are saved and born again, when you are truly born again your sin becomes so gross and nasty to you a sorrow wells up and you repent it is not works at all. It comes from a true repentive heart a heart that was just born of God, a heart that was once stone but just became a heart of flesh a heart for God. Repentence is not works, it is birthed out of a humble true love for God.
I never met anyone that came to Jesus and was saved and born again that repented of all their sins. He saves us in our sin. Repentance of sins is not a requirement to be saved. Show me in the Bible one time the phrase repent of sins repent from sins appears. The only thing the Bible ever says we have to repent from to be saved is dead works self-righteousness or idols. We need Jesus to repent from our sins we need the Holy Spirit to change our heart so that we willfully want to stop sinning. In conclusion the Bible never says we have to repent of sins to be saved. However once we are saved and we are Christian we should repent of our sins that is clear putting off The Works of the flesh
Firstly, I strongly agree that without Repentance there is no salvation because repentance is a turning away from sins. Sins that lead not to eternal life, but to eternal death. What I found in the NIV version of the Bible is that in Genesis 6:6, the word "repent" isn't used. Instead, the word "grieved" is. It says, "The Lord was grieved that he made man on the Earth, and his heart was filled with pain." To me, it doesn't make much of a difference though whether it says repent or grieved, because I understand that true repentance is when you are grieved by your sin, thus turning away from it. Continual sin leads to destruction. God showed me that, and that's when I met Jesus. Amen.

Satan will never repent. Catholics believe too are they saved..? Sin is the problem why we are fallen and God hates sinners and sin... so without repenting of you sins your belief is useless and we have to fight sin after we are saved it is war!!! .. and that does not mean you are going to be sinless but sin seperates us from God and we need to stop doing them and God helps you with it... tim schutte yes but if you look up the definition in the dictionary of ‘turn from’ as in turn from your sins, it means forsake. Forsake your sins in order to be saved? Where does it say that anywhere in the Bible. That is not a condition of salvation through Jesus Christ. In the Bible sin in transgression of the law. So turning from sin means keeping the law. Nobody is justified through law-keeping.
The Convergence Yes I agree. Absolutely King James Version. But if the Greek word that Jesus used was metanoia meaning change mind then why you translating that to turn from sin. It’s about acknowledging our sin and how that separates us from a perfect holy and righteous God and then understanding that we need him and turning to him as our Lord and saviour. If Jesus wanted to tell us to turn from sin wouldn’t he have told us to! He is not the author of confusion!
Revelations 9:21 and they repented not of their Murder or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. Bottom line: They did NOT repent of their Sins☝🏾 People of Ninevah repented of their deeds....obviously of their Sins and God spared them.

Thanks Josh for this critically important and relevant teaching. As our churches have slowly been filled with false converts, for nearly 3 decades I've watched Bible believing Churches and Pastors move further and further away from this doctrine - in their proclamation of the gospel and in teaching the congregation. God gave us Chapters 2 & 3 in the book of Revelation specifically addressed to the churches, and they act as if there is no application in them for our churches today... well, maybe for the church down the road, but definitely not for our church!!! We now live in a day where true repentance and true conversion are rare!

Yes Jesus did preach repentance, but first we must correctly define what repent means and why Jesus was preaching it. Jesus was saying that you had to change your mind about Him and realize that he was the messiah. Turn from trusting in your own obedience to the law and realize that you are a guilty sinner who can never keep the law and that you need a savior. (Rom.3:19). John was telling people to repent to realize that they were a sinner who needed Jesus. John paved the path for Jesus and His ministry. To say that repent means you have to change your life and live a good life to be saved is a works gospel. As you are trusting in what you do to get you into Heaven instead of what God did for you.
Reace Wilkie Jesus said, "My words are spirit and they are life" When Jesus says repent...Spirit and life goes and touches the hearts of those who will receive. That is grace. No need to comment because scripture is very clear... So when Jesus commands to repent or perish, it is His grace, and a work of grace, not a works gospel. You have to understand that when a person who is led of the Spirit says repent, it is not that person , it is the Spirit of God......those who have an ear to hear will hear at that moment and respond. Jesus and Paul didn't always tell a person to repent because they were already in a state of repentance. Yes it is because of the grace of God that we are enabled to repent. To put our faith in Jesus. But do you believe that someone has to live a good life, turn from their sins, or do good works to be saved? Do you believe that someone can live anyway they want, good or bad, and go to Heaven?

The word “repent” in the Bible seems to have different meanings. Repent does not always mean repent of sins, but it always appears to mean some change of mind. It may be wrong to think that in every case in which human beings are repenting that they are repenting of sins. We are all thoroughly sinful and will remain sinful on this earth until we see Christ face to face. Only then will we be like Christ and utterly freed from sin. I hate sin, and I agree with God that only He is righteous, and I am beyond thankful that since I have believed in Christ I am now covered in His perfect righteousness and finally know the depth of His love for me. If you’re sorrowful about something worldly that leads to death. If you’re sorrowful because you hurt Gods feelings by breaking his commands that’s Godly sorrow. That’s something you’ve gotta be honest with yourself about. Even if it’s not Godly sorrow love rejoices with the truth so just tell God you’re sorrowful about worldly things and not your sin and He’ll rejoice with this.

I have meditated and saw The Holy Spirit. I danced with I AM. I know for a fact God is real. I know not many believe me..but I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, there are many scriptures that point to this. As well as in the Gospel of Thomas (which the church conveniently never added into the Bible.) Personally, I feel there is so much we don't even know. Reaching God should be a constant objective in our lives. So many of us are okay with the limited knowledge we have and never want to know more. In fact, I have a very religious mother that refuses to seek the spiritual side of Christ, because she has been taught it's all of satan. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Repent means to change your mind. (Acts 20:21, Acts 19:4, Matthew 21:29, Jonah 3:9-10, Romans 11:29). These are all King James or New King James. Many modern Bible versions have changed it to relented. Repenting of sin or turning from sin is a false gospel. Change your mind and go from trusting in your works to get you into heaven to trusting in the finished sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross to get you to heaven.

Some of these comments are crazy. You believe, trust, in Jesus Christ for salvation? Good! Just know know the HOLY Spirit of Truth will lead you to repent and only a wicked man will try to debate how many demons can dance on the pins of a needle. Splitting hairs is foolish and trying to get out of repentance is foolish and deceiving. I remember as a young Christian I never heard this idea, concept, of "you don't HAVE TO repent to be saved." As someone who grew up in the Baptist church (mostly during the holidays) sometimes Baptist doctrine needs to be contradicted when it doesn't align with what JESUS taught. So break out your concordance and go over the same scriptures that Josh is already teaching from.

You teach the same teaching like in the book of Mormon. In the Gospel of John the word repent isn't found one single time. The only condition for salvation is to belive in the finished work of Jesus Christ. He payed in full!!! John also wrote 1 2 and 3 John along with the book of revelation. You should look at the word sin and repent in those books as well since you want to single him out. There is no salvation without Repentance.

In Matthew 3, John the Baptist was looking for the fruit of their mouths. He preached the same message Jesus did in Matthew 12, where Jesus told the Pharisees he was speaking of their words. We repent of trusting in ourselves to trust in Jesus. The new born again man is free from sin, but the flesh is not. Any man who says he’s free from sin is a lying false teacher.
If we have to repent from our sins to be saved then why did Jesus have to die? It wouldn't make since that Jesus already paid the penalty but we still have to turn from all our sins. We should repent from sins to please God but our salvation is by trusting in the work of the Lord not ourselves

Hi Josh, At about 32 minutes into the video you talk about the churches in the book of revelation needing to repent, and you say that a lot of churches/Christians today need likewise also to repent. I won't disagree with you. But your message seems to be that if a Christian hasn't repented of their sins they are lost. I think this contradicts what the book of Revelation says about these unrepentant churches. I don't think that those churches were lost yet, even though they were told that they needed to repent. A lot of people don't like this guy because alot of people don't want to hear the truth. Many churches preach you can be involved in all types of immorality and call Jesus on your deathbed and it's all good when nothing can be farther from the truth. I always feel like I need to witness to non believers but the people in the church are just as lost in most cases.

What about when Jesus said why call me lord lord and do not the things which i say? And what about the thief on the cross? Last time i checked there hasn't been anyone else who was in the same situation, and to look at that as an example is to neglect the fact we are not in that predicament therefore it should be by no means be an example to those who have the ability to experience the fulness of following Christ. I never said we are saved by works, but we are saved to do them, read eph. 2: 10 and we are expected to uphold a standard of righteousness and turning from sin. I do not always find it helpful to think of stopping sin, because sometimes a sin is not doing something. Would you say start the non-sin? For instance if your sin was not going and making disciples, or not tithing.

I have a question, it might seem like a silly one but I'm curious for your answer. Is playing videogames a sin. They don't really glorify God in any way, but I do not see them as harmful. Maybe they are, I know if you play more videogames than you are spending time with God it's Idolatry. But if you're just playing a bit here and there, are they sinful?

Why is it that everyone who's into false doctrine has a whole bookcase full of books about the bible? James is written to Jewish believers and focuses on sanctification and discipleship not salvation. James 2 is not written to unbelievers to tell them how to be saved or justified. Enough: Jesus died on the cross for sinners. We are all sinners. How does a person become sinless? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.......... Sinless before God because Christ justified us. To focus on our sins is to not have faith in Christ. To focus on repenting, our focus is not trusting Christ forgiveness. To focus on making a promise, or to feel sad, is to not focus on the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. If you can't take the clear gospel in John 3 and go with that, you have a problem with personal pride. The gospel is good news. It is the gift of God. It is not good news if you have to work to get it, work to keep it and work to not loose it. A believer is not supposed to live it up in sin, you can't be a light and a good example to the rest of the world and share the gospel if you sins are obvious. However on the side of this video since any sin is enough to send you to hell if you think you have to keep up the good works. What do you call sin. Most goody type "christians" have problems with pride, back biting, boasting not following the safe driving laws, find ways to get around tax laws unfairly and more. I'm not impressed! The point I'm making and the bible makes we all still sin in some form even if it is in our mind. The point is we need to believe in Christ alone for our salvation, and then as you choose to and you should work out what that means to you and be thankful to God in how you live. Dude you need to stop teaching before you actually research the Greek. You need the proper definition of metanoia and the context in which it’s used. Not once is repenting of sin mentioned in regards to salvation. Yes Christians turn from sin, but metanoia which is to change your mind used in the context of changing your beliefs about Jesus to believe he is the Christ. Even you haven’t repented from all of your sins in the way you teach it.

But Jesus died to atone/ cover your sins and bring you back to God when you Get right and STAY right with Him. Becoming holy is not an event, it is a PROCESS. So pray to the Lord and ask Him for the Holy Spirit which will convict you of sin on your new walk with the Lord. For God to forgive us, we must forgive EVERYONE who has ever hurt us or done wrong to us so we have no bitterness in our hearts. Unresolved bitterness that you carry with you only leads to quickness in getting angry in the future. Forgiveness is not just for them, it is for YOU too... If you haven't done so already, you should work on this when you talk to God in the next couple of days to let Him know WHO you are forgiving, and for WHAT, and WHY you should forgive them.... I am not saying you have to stop ALL sinning right away for Jesus to reveal himself to you spiritually. The Holy Spirit enters when one truly makes the decision to believe on Jesus as their Lord and Savior. But I am saying that God, in His foreknowledge, may not reveal His Son to those whom He knows don't really want to fully turn to Him, but are just testing Him and would end up NOT REPENTING, therefore rejecting Him anyway. In other words, God knows our hearts and if we desire to fully know and receive God, or if we are just testing Him without a repentant heart. When you get the Holy Spirit you will STOP willful sinning. Ask the Lord which sins you need to repent of and He will reveal those to you. You will go thru the process of Sanctification (being made holy by sinning less and less) in your new Christian walk with the Lord. One of Satan's greatest tricks is to excite/ entice us with 'worldly' pursuits and stay busy so that we never have time for God. You must make time for God daily or the devil will get you like he has you now. He has been torturing your mind and keeping you in the bondage of sin. YOU MUST NEVER, EVER, EVER GIVE UP. Let God know the areas you are weak or ignorant or still confused and would like his guidance. He will help you, He really will!! Pray to God every day and night for His help in what you need, (not want). Pray for discernment and wisdom. Ask God what His will is now, not yours. Seek God through Jesus Christ, who is His word. Read your BIBLE daily, start with ALL 4 GOSPELS, to draw closer to God and help you fight the enemy. Make Jesus’ teachings and the New Testament the new standard for your life. "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6. Again, since sin is what separates us from God, we must come to the point of hating sin so we do not disappoint the Lord or ourselves on Judgement Day. The fleeting pleasure of sin is not worth it. The verse "resist the devil and he will flee" comes from OBEDIENCE to God that takes the "power" away from demons. Satan will still tempt you of coarse since that is what he DOES. But as soon as sin comes up in our hearts OR our minds we must defeat it IMMEDIATELY so it does not continue to LINGER AND GROW. When you let it grow it can overcome us and turn into action if we let it. That is how the devil gets in and STAYS IN. And idle time is the devil’s workshop. God always provides a way out of sin, you just have to find the strength 'in the moment' to walk away. "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it." 1 Corinthians 10:13 You have to fight the enemy every day, all day. The fight NOW is better than going to hell where you can't fight your way out. So "resist the devil and he will flee" - you will have peace especially when you get more familiar with God's word - the verses you learn help to reassure you and keep the devil 'at bay' so he stops torturing you and keeping you in willful sin (bad habits). Reading the bible daily helps give us peace “Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.” Proverbs 3:7. This is an ONGOING process and the healthy Fear of the Lord helps us to become sanctified. The devil gets in because he knows your weaknesses and will use them against you. He will not try to go in thru a locked front door (one sin previously conquered), he will sneak around to find a breach... The devil never stops. So you must "Put on the full armor of God." Ephesians 6. Read it.Or you will continue to be miserable until you surrender your life to Christ. The devil is never gone for good, NOT YET! Not til we're in heaven. We must fight the enemy every day, all day. The devil TEMPTS us b/c that's what he DOES, even to the most strong Christians. This is the SPIRITUAL WARFARE WE ALL go through. He will use FEAR and DOUBT to try and throw you off the narrow path. "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.' James 4:8. You purify you heart by not giving into the temptations of the devil and you stop being "double-minded" by not just professing with your lips but by professing with your actions and not being a "double-minded hypocrite saying one thing yet doing another. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9. Read the bible and stay in God's word DAILY to help you stay at peace and put God's word ON YOUR HEART... TO PURIFY IT FURTHER. This is like the purifying process of gold. It is passed through the fire and heated so the impurities rise to the top. This is an ongoing process until death, but deliverance helps this process become easier. The verse "resist the devil and he will flee" comes from Obedience to God. OBEDIENCE takes the power away from our demons so we can be delivered from them. Now you just have to remain on the narrow path of repentance until the end. Just ask God constantly which sins to you need to get rid of and He will reveal them to you. If stumble, ask God HUMBLY to forgive you and help you to learn from that sin and He will help you. He really will!! But the only one who was perfect was Jesus Christ. So it is a constant process of refinement. The Holy Spirit will help and guide you daily. Welcome to your New Christian walk with the Lord!! Is repentance necessary for salvation? YES. What are we to repent or turn from to be saved? UNBELIEF. Saying you have to "repent of your sins" is works in God's eyes according to Jonah 3:10.

Repentance is NOT a works-based salvation! We repent after being born again because He has given us a new heart and we see our sins for exactly what they are and that is gross, vile, filthy. When we see them, our sins, we are full of sorrow a sadness and we repent of them, not as a work, not adding anything to salvation we do it out of a new heart that is humbled before the Lord and a hatred for what we once were. After you are born again you become a new creation in Christ Jesus old things have passed away all things have become new. We no longer do what we use too, we no longer enjoy sinful desires or pleasure, no, we are truly repentive concerning them! When God removes your heart of stone and gives you a heart of flesh you will no longer practice sin, you will be sorrowful every time you commit sin and you will repent with great remorse and sorrow. Repenting has nothing to do with "WORKS" it becomes a part of your holy character after being born again. If you still practice sin, you still lie, steal, fornicate, curse, to name a few and claim you are a born-again believer, you need to go back to the altar because a true born again believer will not practice sin. No we are not sinless we will commit sin, but we do not sin willfully we do not practice sin meaning we do not continue to sin knowingly. And when a true believer does sin they become sorrowful, full of remorse and repent of it.

I am very thankful I was directed to you! Sad there is so many that are deceived by their idea that repenting is a form of works. It saddens me to see so many change the Gospel of Jesus Christ and ignore the Word of God. It is by Grace through faith we are saved and born again, when you are truly born again your sin becomes so gross and nasty to you a sorrow wells up and you repent it is not works at all. It comes from a true repentive heart a heart that was just born of God, a heart that was once stone but just became a heart of flesh a heart for God. Repentence is not works, it is birthed out of a humble true love for God.

Show me in the Bible one time the phrase repent of sins repent from sins appears. The only thing the Bible ever says we have to repent from to be saved is dead works self-righteousness or idols. We need Jesus to repent from our sins we need the Holy Spirit to change our heart so that we willfully want to stop sinning. In conclusion the Bible never says we have to repent of sins to be saved. Firstly, I strongly agree that without Repentance there is no salvation because repentance is a turning away from sins. Sins that lead not to eternal life, but to eternal death. What I found in the NIV version of the Bible is that in Genesis 6:6, the word "repent" isn't used. Instead, the word "grieved" is. It says, "The Lord was grieved that he made man on the Earth, and his heart was filled with pain." To me, it doesn't make much of a difference though whether it says repent or grieved, because I understand that true repentance is when you are grieved by your sin, thus turning away from it. Continual sin leads to destruction. God showed me that, and that's when I met Jesus. Amen.

tim schutte yes but if you look up the definition in the dictionary of ‘turn from’ as in turn from your sins, it means forsake. Forsake your sins in order to be saved? Where does it say that anywhere in the Bible. That is not a condition of salvation through Jesus Christ. In the Bible sin in transgression of the law. So turning from sin means keeping the law. Nobody is justified through law-keeping.
i strongly recommend using KJV and not the NIV...NIV glosses over or disregards completely Repentance and the Deity of Christ.
The Convergence Yes I agree. Absolutely King James Version. But if the Greek word that Jesus used was metanoia meaning change mind then why you translating that to turn from sin. It’s about acknowledging our sin and how that separates us from a perfect holy and righteous God and then understanding that we need him and turning to him as our Lord and saviour. If Jesus wanted to tell us to turn from sin wouldn’t he have told us to! He is not the author of confusion!

Thanks Josh for this critically important and relevant teaching. As our churches have slowly been filled with false converts, for nearly 3 decades I've watched Bible believing Churches and Pastors move further and further away from this doctrine - in their proclamation of the gospel and in teaching the congregation. God gave us Chapters 2 & 3 in the book of Revelation specifically addressed to the churches, and they act as if there is no application in them for our churches today... well, maybe for the church down the road, but definitely not for our church!!! We now live in a day where true repentance and true conversion are rare!
The saved may repent but the unbeliever can`t, that would be works, trust is the keyword here, trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ...

Repentance is still a work of Grace it's not a works based salvation. God gives the will, the promise, and the power. a soul must only submit to that promise when the word of God pricks the heart. It opens the heart to faith in Christ by grace which saves.

Yes Jesus did preach repentance, but first we must correctly define what repent means and why Jesus was preaching it. Jesus was saying that you had to change your mind about Him and realize that he was the messiah. Turn from trusting in your own obedience to the law and realize that you are a guilty sinner who can never keep the law and that you need a savior. (Rom.3:19). John was telling people to repent to realize that they were a sinner who needed Jesus. John paved the path for Jesus and His ministry. To say that repent means you have to change your life and live a good life to be saved is a works gospel. As you are trusting in what you do to get you into Heaven instead of what God did for you.

When Jesus says repent...Spirit and life goes and touches the hearts of those who will receive. That is grace. No need to comment because scripture is very clear...

The word “repent” in the Bible seems to have different meanings. Repent does not always mean repent of sins, but it always appears to mean some change of mind. It may be wrong to think that in every case in which human beings are repenting that they are repenting of sins. We are all thoroughly sinful and will remain sinful on this earth until we see Christ face to face. Only then will we be like Christ and utterly freed from sin. I hate sin, and I agree with God that only He is righteous, and I am beyond thankful that since I have believed in Christ I am now covered in His perfect righteousness and finally know the depth of His love for me. If you’re sorrowful about something worldly that leads to death. If you’re sorrowful because you hurt Gods feelings by breaking his commands that’s Godly sorrow. That’s something you’ve gotta be honest with yourself about. Even if it’s not Godly sorrow love rejoices with the truth so just tell God you’re sorrowful about worldly things and not your sin and He’ll rejoice with this.

Also, there are many scriptures that point to this. As well as in the Gospel of Thomas (which the church conveniently never added into the Bible.) Personally, I feel there is so much we don't even know. Reaching God should be a constant objective in our lives. So many of us are okay with the limited knowledge we have and never want to know more. In fact, I have a very religious mother that refuses to seek the spiritual side of Christ, because she has been taught it's all of satan. That couldn't be farther from the truth.

Repent means to change your mind. (Acts 20:21, Acts 19:4, Matthew 21:29, Jonah 3:9-10, Romans 11:29). These are all King James or New King James. Many modern Bible versions have changed it to relented. Repenting of sin or turning from sin is a false gospel. Change your mind and go from trusting in your works to get you into heaven to trusting in the finished sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross to get you to heaven.

Some of these comments are crazy. You believe, trust, in Jesus Christ for salvation? Good! Just know know the HOLY Spirit of Truth will lead you to repent and only a wicked man will try to debate how many demons can dance on the pins of a needle. John also wrote 1 2 and 3 John along with the book of revelation. You should look at the word sin and repent in those books as well since you want to single him out. There is no salvation without Repentance.

In Matthew 3, John the Baptist was looking for the fruit of their mouths. He preached the same message Jesus did in Matthew 12, where Jesus told the Pharisees he was speaking of their words. We repent of trusting in ourselves to trust in Jesus.

Hi Josh, At about 32 minutes into the video you talk about the churches in the book of revelation needing to repent, and you say that a lot of churches/Christians today need likewise also to repent. I won't disagree with you. But your message seems to be that if a Christian hasn't repented of their sins they are lost. I think this contradicts what the book of Revelation says about these unrepentant churches. I don't think that those churches were lost yet, even though they were told that they needed to repent. A lot of people don't like this guy because alot of people don't want to hear the truth. Many churches preach you can be involved in all types of immorality and call Jesus on your deathbed and it's all good when nothing can be farther from the truth. I have a question, it might seem like a silly one but I'm curious for your answer. Is playing videogames a sin. They don't really glorify God in any way, but I do not see them as harmful. Maybe they are, I know if you play more videogames than you are spending time with God it's Idolatry. But if you're just playing a bit here and there, are they sinful?
If you say it doesn't glorify Him. Then you have your answer :) Video games are a HUGE distraction. They are harmful that can let in different types of demons or channel witchcraft. Its impossible to turn from sin also because "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in is". You are basically creating the criteria of what sins you need to repent of because I assume you agree nobody can repent of all their sins. So which sins need to be repented of before we can get saved?
Seems you have no understanding on dispensational teachings...? And there is no way an unrighteous can turn from their sins - first after believing in Jesus and being born with the Holy Spirit you can know you sins and repent from them. Repentance = change of mind.

James is written to Jewish believers and focuses on sanctification and discipleship not salvation. James 2 is not written to unbelievers to tell them how to be saved or justified. Most goody type "christians" have problems with pride, back biting, boasting not following the safe driving laws, find ways to get around tax laws unfairly and more. I'm not impressed!
The point I'm making and the bible makes we all still sin in some form even if it is in our mind. The point is we need to believe in Christ alone for our salvation, and then as you choose to and you should work out what that means to you and be thankful to God in how you live. If you fail, your still saved God is faithful.
If you choose to live your own way after you believed in Christ for the free gift of salvation, you're still forgiven, but you will not have rewards.

Dude you need to stop teaching before you actually research the Greek. You need the proper definition of metanoia and the context in which it’s used. Not once is repenting of sin mentioned in regards to salvation. Yes Christians turn from sin, but metanoia which is to change your mind used in the context of changing your beliefs about Jesus to believe he is the Christ. Even you haven’t repented from all of your sins in the way you teach it.

Those who do not repent will be judged for their sins and will go to hell (the lake of fire) when they die. You must be SAVED. Today is the day of SALVATION as tomorrow is never promised. Repentance is an intentional change or turning away from sin and turning to God; from wanting to sin to not wanting to sin. If you truly want to repent it is because God has laid it on your heart. Confess ALL of your sins to Him. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. Pray and cry out to Jesus Christ with all of your heart and wide open soul and ask Him to forgive your sins. He will blot out all of your sins when you REPENT/ TURN from your sins. He will take away your heart of stone (from being “hard hearted toward Him”) and give you a heart of flesh. But you must repent so He can LIVE in your heart again. You must come to the point of HATING SIN because it is what separates us from God. That is why you feel the way you do. Breaking free from the bondage of sin is not an event but a process. But Jesus died to atone/ cover your sins and bring you back to God when you Get right and STAY right with Him. Becoming
holy is not an event, it is a PROCESS. So pray to the Lord and ask Him for the Holy Spirit which will convict you of sin on your new walk with the Lord.
For God to forgive us, we must forgive EVERYONE who has ever hurt us or done wrong to us so we have no bitterness in our hearts. Unresolved bitterness that you carry with you only leads to quickness in getting angry in the future. Forgiveness is not just for them, it is for YOU too... If you haven't done so already, you should work on this when you talk to God in the next couple of days to let Him know WHO you are forgiving, and for WHAT, and WHY you should forgive them....
I am not saying you have to stop ALL sinning right away for Jesus to reveal himself to you spiritually. The Holy Spirit enters when one truly makes the decision to believe on Jesus as their Lord and Savior. But I am saying that God, in His foreknowledge, may not reveal His Son to those whom He knows don't really want to fully turn to Him, but are just testing Him and would end up NOT REPENTING, therefore rejecting Him anyway. and stay busy so that we never have time for God. You must make time for God daily or the devil will get you like he has you now. He has been torturing your mind and keeping you in the bondage of sin. YOU MUST NEVER, EVER, EVER GIVE UP. Let God know the areas you are weak or ignorant or still confused and would like his guidance. He will help you, He really will!! Pray to God every day and night for His help in what you need, (not want). Pray for discernment and wisdom. Ask God what His will is now, not yours. Seek God through Jesus Christ, who is His
word. Read your BIBLE daily, start with ALL 4 GOSPELS, to draw closer to God and help you fight the enemy. Make Jesus’ teachings and the New Testament the new standard for your life. Again, since sin is what separates us from God, we must come to the point of hating sin so we do not disappoint the Lord or ourselves on Judgement Day. The fleeting pleasure of sin is not worth it. The verse "resist the devil and he will flee" comes from OBEDIENCE to God that takes the "power" away from demons. Satan will still tempt you of coarse since that is what he DOES. But as soon as sin comes up in our hearts OR our minds we must defeat it IMMEDIATELY so it does not continue to LINGER AND GROW. When you let it grow it can overcome us and turn into
action if we let it. That is how the devil gets in and STAYS IN. And idle time is the devil’s workshop. God always provides a way out of sin, you just have to find the strength 'in the moment' to walk away. "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it." 1 Corinthians 10:13 You have to fight the enemy every day, all day. The fight NOW is better than going to hell where you can't fight your way out. So "resist the devil and he will flee" - you will have peace especially when you get
more familiar with God's word - the verses you learn help to reassure you and keep the devil 'at bay' so he stops torturing you and keeping you in willful sin (bad habits). Reading the bible daily helps give us peace “Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.” Proverbs 3:7. This is an ONGOING process and the healthy Fear of the Lord helps us to become sanctified. The devil gets in because he knows your weaknesses and will use them against you. He will not try to go in thru a locked front door (one sin previously conquered), he will
sneak around to find a breach... The devil never stops. So you must "Put on the full armor of God." Ephesians 6. Read it.Or you will continue to be miserable until you surrender your life to Christ.
The devil is never gone for good, NOT YET! Not til we're in heaven. We must fight the enemy every day, all day. The devil TEMPTS us b/c that's what he DOES, even to the most strong Christians. This is the SPIRITUAL WARFARE WE ALL go through. He will use FEAR and DOUBT to try and throw you off the narrow path. "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.' James 4:8. You purify you heart by not giving into the temptations of the devil and you stop being "double-minded" by not just professing with your lips but by professing with your actions and not being a "double-minded hypocrite saying one thing yet doing another. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9. Read the bible and stay in God's word DAILY to help you stay at peace and put God's word ON YOUR HEART... TO PURIFY IT FURTHER. This is like the purifying process of gold. It is passed through the fire and heated so the impurities rise to the top. This is an ongoing process until death, but deliverance helps this process become easier. The verse "resist the devil and he will flee" comes from Obedience to God. OBEDIENCE takes the power away from our demons so we can be delivered from them.
Now you just have to remain on the narrow path of repentance until the end. Just ask God constantly which sins to you need to get rid of and He will reveal them to you. If stumble, ask God HUMBLY to forgive you and help you to learn from that sin and He will help you. He really will!! But the only one who was perfect was Jesus Christ. So it is a constant process of refinement. The Holy Spirit will help and guide you daily. Welcome to your New Christian walk with the Lord!! The Christian walk is not an easy one but it is certainly well worth it in the end. It is all about the journey AND the destination. May the God of all peace bless you abundantly.

When Jesus said 'I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance, He was speaking to the 'scribes and Pharisees', who were self righteous hypocrites. He was being sarcastic.... You have been deceived and you are teaching the 'doctrine of devils'.
Also read 1 John 5:13 Mr. false teacher. Actually just read the entire book of John, which claims to be written so that people know how to get saved. Strangely enough the word repent doesn't appear even once in John, which is the only book in the Bible which claims to be focused on the topic of salvation only.
