If you're not prepared, the Pearson VUE security can be a bit overwhelming. At the time I took my exam, I was suffering from allergies and was NOT allowed to take any tissues or cough drops into the exam room. If I needed a tissue, I had to raise my hand. Pearson VUE's policy prohibits you from taking ANYTHING into the exam room, no matter how harmless or necessary the item might seem to you.
So I'm confused. So are they showing you how to take test? Are they showing you how to administer it to someone else? I'm just a little bit confused if anybody can clear this up for me. Thank you in advance.😊
Just beware any potential test-takers, the staff can be pushy and show absolutely no sympathy, but don't let this put you off. This video misses something which came as a considerably shock for me, the fact they showed me a sheet with instructions, which included rolling my sleeves up, emptying my pockets, showing my empty pockets, pulling my hair up and showing your mobile phone is switched off. It was really off putting as I never expected it, so just be aware.
As a test administrator: yes they missed the security part in the video; however that security check is necessary to filter out anyone who decides to cheat. Imagine if you end up with life threatening injuries and the nurse/doctor who attends to you cheated on their exam and doesn't actually know what they're doing. Would you trust that person?
This video is not very comprehensive. It should include the fact that you have to do a self-search of pockets and pat down before entering the testing room. ID is checked each and every time you leave or enter the room and when you receive a print out at the end. They read rules to you each time too and you are video and audio recorded. Lots of security! Add that you can bring drinks and snacks and put them in your locker. A lot more information could have been included!
Pearson has lobbied to become a test center for the Department of State I was disappointed with my experience before taking the exam. I contacted Pearson VUE about an issue with my name on the registration confirmation, but I didn't receive a response. Fortunately, everything went smoothly on the day of the exam. Although the local staff at the Pearson VUE center in Vietnam were friendly, the condition of the center was dreadful. The waiting area was dark and hot, and we had to wait for half an hour before the test. The building was dilapidated, with old carpet and peeling paint. The most concerning issue was that the only toilet in that three-story test center was in terrible condition. I don't expect to receive a response to this feedback, but I'm sharing it here and on other forums to help others make informed decisions.
I am sorry to mention here that I came to know from one of the Pearson Vue Test Center staff that Pearson VUE pays a very shameful cheap & less amount to conduct exams, so it is not easy to facilitate the candidates with a luxury environment even building rent, utility bills, internet charges, computer equipments & securities devices local center bears . Pearson Vue needs to pay well for the centers although Pearsons & venders earns a significant fund from candidates.

Weird. I'm an administrator at one PPC and we provide tissues and allow candidates to bring cough drops if necessary

That check-in process has the same procedure as airport security of some sort.

This is not a realtime exam just a demo..seems very similar during my CCNA exam days.

Yeah it just checks the pattern in your hand with IR light. The machines are kind of junky though and don't work very well half the time
