  • Obviously filmed a while ago for the in-progress documentary about his song writing partner Pete Brown, the late Jack Bruce casts a light upon British humour and the role it played in our country’s psyche. The ability to laugh at ourselves and a surreal view of what is life is just so British. Life with the Graham Bond Organisation must have matched it in so many ways.

Jack was the guy who lit the musical fire in me back in 1967. 50 plus years later, I'm still playing Cream songs in my car and smiling at the memories. I learned the guitar back in '67 because of Jack. Still playing today. Thanks Jack.

Jack Bruce was the most amazing bass player and a true musical genius overall. So glad he left us with so much great music to remember him by.

His singing was a perfect match for Cream's instrumentation - just as subtle, powerful and melodic.

I am glad he is self aware of the fact that he knows how important graham bond org. and cream were to music that was to follow. One hell of a musician, it is really upsetting to know he is gone.

Jack Bruce was one of the few artists who could question the importance of Frank Zappa with authority. Good he gave credit where credit is due concerning the Mothers of Invention: 2:27 The same can probably be said about artists like James Brown and Miles Davis and the bands they worked with.

I grew up with The Goons who together with The Marx Brothers shaped my sense of humour. I fell in love with The Graham Bond Organisation as soon as I heard them. I’m so glad that I got to see them play live. R.I.P. Jack.

Interesting and funny story I'd not heard before. "Disraeli Gears" is a classic. "Tales of Brave Ulysses" perfetto.

Ginger, Jack, Eric (Clapton), Graham, John (Mayall), Alexis Korner. Dick, Cyril Davis etc. were much more important to music than The Beatles and the Stones. Graham Bond is the pioneer for the Hammond B3/Leslie speaker into rock and roll. It was primarily a jazz instrument before hand. Bond was also the first pop musician to record the Mellotron (Baby, Can it be True) in 1965.

well now come out the news that the beatles didn't write their own music.sounds right if you look at the time line and what they said..lennon said that they couldn't read or write music and were so-so players.
