Excellent video. So glad the cosmic is getting some much needed exposure. I sent mine to omega for an estimate and they nicked the super rare nylon gasket and replaced it with an o-ring to hold the outer case and movement case.
Many thanks. What tool do you use to remove the split stem? Or any hints and tips? I have a cosmic with a one piece case that I only have the choice to remove the crystal, whenever I do this I get scratch marks from the tool, do you have a video on that or any tips? Ta.
I have an early 1970’s omega seamaster cosmic 2000 diver. Personally I think it’s the best looking of the model line up. I’m going to sell it though to fund driving lessons for my daughter. Any idea of the value please??
Thanks for the video, this has been very helpful! I was wondering how to put it back together? Each parts one by one, or stacking all together and pushing the opposite way? Cheers
To re install > Fit the movement to the grey retainer and insert into case module > Attach stem & crown then test function ( winding/time setting ) > Fit front gasket/bezel & glass in case press > Test movement again for accuracy and adjust if needed > Pull & remove crown before fitting case back to allow air to escape > Re fit crown, test again > Done :) Hope this helps
The bezel is actually part of the inner module so you can not just remove it, you would have to swap it out from another model or have the original silver plated.
Hello, i have a question, could You tell me dimensions of the sleeve which You used to pull off mechanism? External internal, lenght and that internal step if possible. Thank You very much, because i would like to make this by my own.

@@welwynwatches5976 you're a star, thanks a lot for your time and detailed explanation.
I just bought that same watch, where can I find a Sapphire replacement crystal? Thank you!
You can find any standard sapphire of the following size 31mm Width x 2.00mm thick with bevelled edge and it should fit just fine :)
Where are you based sir , my late father left me with this watch and it needs a new glass , service and buff..
Question how did you remove the stem without removing the case back or glass from the start?
The stem is a two piece type with male & female parts so the crown section just snaps out when pulled with force.
I appreciate the quick response thank you so much 😁and because I just purchased one of these but not many videos on these type of models.
Can you change the bezel on this watch. I have a gold bezel, but the rest of the watch is silver/chrome

If you are talking about the grey Delrin dial ring then I do not know the dimensions of that sorry.
@@welwynwatches5976 seems white one, it helps You to pull out whole mechanism, that one where is a sign by pencil - omega cosmic :)
@@patoma847 Ah I see, the die I used was OD=45mm ID=33.80 with 28.20mm lower hole. Total height 22mm, top of die to inner ring 13mm, hope that helps.
