    I am a long hauler too. I took antihistamines for a year then switched to natural things. What works for me is 500 mg each of a good quality reservatrol and berberine. They thin blood, steady my bp & sugar, help the fog + fatigue. I am also having a daily electrolyte drink so long as my HR is not elevated. My salt was at the bottom of the "good" spectrum and I feel much better when I get it. I take cbd and melatonin sometimes to help me sleep.

    Good evening, is there any information about EBV being activated in long haulers. I'm hearing lots of doctors say that the cause of long covid is the activation of ebv in the body.

    • @fabulousdoc
      @fabulousdoc 3 года назад +6

      The suggestion that EBV reactivation is the cause of long covid is nonsense.
      But it may play a role as the immune system becomes dysregulated in LC.
      However I do use Valaciclovir with patients who have EBV reactivation.
      Note you can test for this from a blood test. EBV igG/igM

      I get the same problem even with low doses. Your magnesium levels could actually be fine. When I got tested my mag was good, it was my potassium & sodium that were low. I do eat tons of veggies so maybe get enough magnesium already. But I focused more on those 2 and feel better. I'll do 2gms salt with 500mg potassium it always makes me feel better without the lethargy magnesium causes.

    Sincere thanks for this program. I found B Complex, D, collagen, and omega fish oil capsules very helpful for about a year. I follow an anti-inflammatory diet to the extent possible as far as I can determine what does and does not work for me. Then, several weeks ago, I added choline, with fabulous results. Within a week, I could tell a real difference. I finally feel like I might be able to gradually add activities without undoing the benefit of pacing. Nothing wild and crazy yet, but this is the closest I’ve gotten to recovery, after dealing with this for almost two years. Thanks for continuing to help us with your programming. Best wishes to all who are struggling to recover.

    do you know her stance on Inter fasting?

    • @fabulousdoc
      @fabulousdoc 3 года назад +1

      I very much recommend intermittent fasting.. as long as the periods of fasting are not too extended as to make them stressful to you.
      Some people need a transition to become fat adapted, I.e to be able to burn fat as fuel so starting over with 12hrs and building up to 24hrs with electrolyte intake can be useful for some but if you are still very unwell with POTS and extreme fatigue I do not recommend outside a medical facility. They do this at e.g @lanserhof and (less expensive) Buchinger clinic in Spain and Germany.
      I find using exogenous ketones helpful like beta hydroxybutyrate (salts) and the Oxford ketone ester. (Appreciate not cheap)
      They can give some of the Neuro benefits of fasting.
      But fasting also rests the gut and resets the micro biome 🪲

    Does anyone with medical expertise know if it's ok to take 500-1000mg of quercitin per day on an ongoing basis? My supplement bottle says not to take longer than 12 weeks in a row, but I'd like to continue for now, if I know it's safe... Thanks.

      If you search this question online this is what you’ll find out: It is not known if long-term use or higher doses are safe. This tells me that no studies go past 12 weeks. To prevent or treat Covid or long-haul you only need 250 to 500 mg. The lower dose is showing just as effective as the higher but depends on your symptoms and if you’re high risk for infection.

I was curious to know if you have any knowledge of the H.E.L.P Apheresis treatment? It's very new and a research paper is coming out soon on the matter (though it has a rather small sample size). So Niacin is good for some but I prefer the whole methylation cycle to be supported. So that's using creatine, phosphatidycholine, and D-Ribose as well. I also think Arginine and niacin together is good as triggers more nitric oxide release which is vasodilatory and good for the vascular system.
      I also use GTN patches in small cuts with some for same effect 👍
