This is a quick change oil system that replaces the oil that is held inside the filter,. This particular filter exchanges 80% of the oil with the fresh filter where 20% is left in. This is done once a year thus changing the oil quickly.
The zip tie came from the factory, and I never added a zip tie ever again because it is totally unnecessary because the oil filter mounts on very tightly.
I use a large pair of channel locks. Grab the filter and turn counterclockwise until it loosens. It does not matter if filter is damaged since it's being thrown out anyway.
Yeah, it’s pretty easy. It’s a little hard to get it on off the first time or two but once you get used to it, you just push down and turn and it gets easier.
I change it once a year it’s probably overkill, but I do it for the health of the machine. It doesn’t replace all of the oil in the machine, but with this specific easy change character that’s how they want to do it.
Is this the 22hp twin engine one? If yes, then it should have two spark plugs right? So should i remove both of the sparkplug cord (left and right), or just one closer to the oil is fine?
I must have missed something? Where did the OIL change part come in?
With this model and system, the oil is in the cartridge
Thank you. I’m changing mine this week.
No new zip tie ?
Where is the oil change part of the video? I see the "Filter" change, but not the oil.

I can't get it to lock. I dunno what to do
You have to crank it at the right angle with the right pressure. Once you get used to it, it’s easy.
@TwinCitiesAdventures thanks. My dad made it look really easy too. But said I wouldn't of been able so it worked out.
Is zip tie just out of the factory? Replacements don't need zip tie?

did you add oil after the filter change ??????
For this model, the oil is in the filter. That’s why it’s an easy change process.
Thank you so much for the demo on this oil canister change it was easy. Now to mow the yard and enjoy an ice tea on the front porch.
Glad it helped!
I can’t twist my old one off, yes I clipped the zip tie. Any ideas?
It’s really snug especially the first time you do it. You might have to use an Oil filter wrench
I can't twist mine off either. Looking for a solution to get it off.

I am having the same issue. I cannot get this thing to untwist to save my life even with a filter remover
The instruction manual says to push down on the filter as you turn it counterclockwise. Hope that helps! 🙂
Do you have to drain the used oil?
Not with this particular tractor, they want you to just do the easy change once a year.
I just changed the filter for the fifth time. I made sure the engine was really cold; it finally worked as advertised.

How often do you need to change it?

You don’t have to remove either. It’s just incase the engine accidentally starts when working on it. (Extremely unlikely)
Do you need to replace the zip tie ?
No
Do i put back the zip tie
I never do
