Hello Mr.Anderson, i have a question. Suppose i create a bunch of tasks to different people across multiple spaces, do i have a consolidated list of all the tasks that i have created all over to track at one place. Otherwise, we need to go to each and every space to see the status of the tasks.
I wish! Goole Tasks (Google Spaces) is very limited in what many would think are the most basic featured. A master-list, as you described would be ideal, but to my knowledge, doesn't exist. After some experimenting, the only workaround I can find is you can open the Chat and "star" each task that appears in the messages portion of Chat. Then, the Starred messages will all appear in the Starred section under Shortcuts. It's janky but depending on what you're trying to accomplish, could be useful. Not sure though.
The biggest issue I have with Google Tasks integration with Spaces, is the inability to create subtasks like you can in the actual tasks app. When you are working on a project with others within or external to your organization, the principal person responsible might be you, but you might need a dozen secondary tasks under the primary tasks with the ability to assign each subtask to a different member of the team.
Completely agree, it's very limiting and frustrating. I did come up with a workaround. Let me know what you think! ruclips.net/video/DGOLxAwNA48/видео.html
Agreed. Finally... could never figure this out!!! so dumb. Hopefully they'll make it easier to create subtasks etc soon. Crazy they don't have their own project management suite yet. anyway THANK YOU!!!!
I have Google Workspace Business Starter for my business and it won't allow me to add external users (needed for clients) to a task. Do you know why this would be? I would like to recommend this to other business owners I work with but this is pretty essential for those I'm working with. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!
@user-dr2pv9lh7k Yes, there is a way! You have to set it up when you originally create a new Space (you cannot do it after you create the Space). Click New Space, then click Create a Space, then in the bottom of that window, you'll see a spot that says "Advanced". Click that and then you can check the box that says "Allow people outside your organization to join". And then boom! There you have it. I made a video for you, in case you'd rather see the steps, rather than just read the steps: ruclips.net/video/ivgFseOJIiQ/видео.html
Hi, I realize this post is over a year old but in case anyone is reading and can help answer: is there a way for the google space creator who assigns tasks to set automatic reminders for said tasks ? For example if I assign a task to someone and it’s due 2 days from now, is there a way that I can set a reminder for them so they are notified before the due date? I know you can do that as an individual member for your own tasks . But my team isn’t tech savvy enough to bother !
Great question! Unfortunately, we haven't been able to figure out a way to do this. Google Tasks is a very simple (almost too simple) application. Hopefully they will add this as a feature, as it seems like a very logical next step!
Would love to help answer this. For clarity sake: are you asking if you can take all the tasks and add them to a Google Sheet, or are you asking if you can take content from a Google Sheet and add it to Google Tasks?
Great questions! 1. Unfortunately, we don't know of a way to assign a task to multiple people. You'd probably just have to duplicate the task and then assign each one individually. 2. There is a way for everyone in the group to see the task! All you have to do is add each person to the Space and they can see all tasks. Does this answer your questions?
I'm glad! Let us know if you have any questions. Also, that's cool about being in Franklin! If your company needs any help with website, marketing, bookkeeping, IT, etc, let us know!
Overall it is a terrible feature for Productivity based Team Collaboration! Totally incomprehensible that Google does not provide a proper OOTB service for Businesses.

Totally agree! I did figure out a rather janky workaround for this though: ruclips.net/video/DGOLxAwNA48/видео.html
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks.
That's awesome! I'm glad to know it's helpful. Please let us know if you'd like to see content on any thing specific.
This is for google workspace and not necessarily general google? Not seeing spaces
It is indeed for Google Workspace. I don't believe this functions for regular (free) gmail accounts.
Agreed. Finally... could never figure this out!!! so dumb. Hopefully they'll make it easier to create subtasks etc soon. Crazy they don't have their own project management suite yet. anyway THANK YOU!!!!
Yes, no doubt! They need to get on the ball! Glad it was helpful. If you have any questions, pleaset don't hesitate.
I made a video, showing a workaround for Subtasks: ruclips.net/video/DGOLxAwNA48/видео.html
I don't think I have "spaces" in tasks app.
But i see them in chat app.
I don't think I could see the tasks from chat through gmail and calendar.
Same here. Paying for 2TB so i had hope to have it
It's definitely frustrating. Google has moved it several times.

I made a video for you, showing how to do this! ruclips.net/video/wd23H7fUTxk/видео.html
You need to upgrade to Business Standard first, then it will allow you.
Especially the task list lacks some key functions, I hope they update that quick as I am open to use that once it is more fleshed out.
Yes, agreed! I wish they allowed for Sections in Tasks where I could add in a title for a specific project or task and then also allow sub-tasks!

I cannot see the spaces function.
I show how to access Spaces in this video: ruclips.net/video/wd23H7fUTxk/видео.html
@@andersonthefish Thanks it worked!! :D
Excellent!@@alejandrogarciae
Is it possible to download all the pending and completed tasks in the google sheet? Someone who is the space owner?
Would love to help answer this. For clarity sake: are you asking if you can take all the tasks and add them to a Google Sheet, or are you asking if you can take content from a Google Sheet and add it to Google Tasks?
Very helpful, thank you.
Awesome! So glad it was. Let us know if you have any questions.
Can you assign multiple people to a task? Or is there a way for everyone in the group to see a task without assigning it?

Does this answer your questions?
How and where can I get task report in Google tasks
I'm unaware of any way to export a report from Google Tasks. That would be cool though!
Thanks man! That was helpful
Franklin TN inthe comments ;)

Thank you this is helpful
You bet! I'm so glad!
We’ll not use it with such a horrible app for iphone
It definitely has a lot of room for improvement!
I don't blame you. It's rather rudimentary.

They're certainly lacking in this area. Thankfully, there are many other team-management apps that integrate well with Gmail.
