Just seeing how much lore is in the DLC is something I'm so thankful for! Gearbox is paying attention and knows what will work I think. Absolute chads. Also, they did say there would be new Survivors, plural. So that's awesome.

I don't know, I really don't want another syphoned forest type map where it's a big stage early on when you have no movement and also the combat directors get confused and spawn a horde of many as the teleporter boss and just in case that wasn't enough it's also the earliest point where you can encounter arguably the most obnoxious enemy in the dlc

WOW this is just beyond expectactions. i'm so so so excited for this dlc. it feels like they listened to what people didn't like about SOTV, mainly that it felt like the lore was lost (especially that cut ending cutscene that was so awesome) and detached from the main game. also the stges only had one variation. different variations keep stages fresh, and i'm glad they are brining it back in a new way with the day and night cycle. i also love this new character and i hope we get a mithrix level fight bc voidling was a bit of a disappointment. i liked both the survivors from sotv, and adding more survivors literally cannot hurt the game. i have faith they'll make the survivors super fun. the only two things left are enemies and items. they didn't show any in this annoucement, but i hope they scale it back with the items and rein it in with the enemies. i think we are reaching a point where there are almost too many items in this game, but i think fitting in a few more to spice up gameplay, especially reds and equipments, is welcome. i loved the idea of more enemies, but the only fun enemy introduced in the dlc was the healing elites, and thats not even a real enemy. the rest made the game a lot worse. vermin, pests, larva, both constructs, void lobsters and infestors were all super spammy and extremely imbalanced. i like gups, but the lag they introduce is so frustrating. so i hope with this new dlc we get fun enemies. given how they showed they listened to the community from sotv, i have faith they're gonna make this dlc leagues better than its predesessor.

Coming from a lifelong Borderlands fan I'm suprised it looks like they're doing good things with this franchise, I have a hunch gearbox put their "B" team on ror2 and their "A" team on bl4, like the whole prince of egypt / shrek situation.
Honestly i like that the Void isn't the focus here period. The Void's story is thinly veiled amongst the very game experience being partly inconsistent with the Void lore, especially with the Voidling and Reavers not using their telepathy on us, how we cannot be Infested, and how the logs that detail the Captain and his crew's many hours of survival do not line up with what we get: an altered version of the world with a false victory against the Void. The Void is inevitable and will win, but there is more that could happen before they take the rest of the world. And this DLC is one step before the end.
I'm bugged by the fact that they need to explain what the dlc "story" is about. That's just the most blatant cardinal sin when writing. Besides, Rain never presented itself as a story based game, it's only put together through pieces in logs.

This DLC looks awesome, and much needed, but I REALLY hope gearbox will do regular, or at least semi-regular content updates. Having every single fun new thing locked behind a paywall isn't what I want this game to turn into, it would make it a lot harder to get into, because you feel like you're missing out on half the game if you don't have every DLC. At the very least, I hope there's a launch sale for DLCs they produce.
