Admit it, your YT feed is full of 1080ti benchmarks, and you're going to watch them all.

yes
so true
A couple edits (because I'm a special snowflake) -
1:05 - *3584 CUDA cores, not 3854
2:30 - 250A is correct, not to be confused with pulling 250 amps from the wall. This follows the formula (amps = watts * volts) where at around 1 volt, 250A = 250W. Shout out to Steve at GamersNexus for the clarification!
3:40 - the OC'd GTX 1060 will indeed be fitted with *GDDR5, not G5X
14:06 - these percentages more so reflect the performance increase of the systems as a whole rather than the individual GPUs since scores with CPU bottlenecking were included. I've redone the calculations, tossing out bottlenecked scores, and the GTX 1080 Ti (stock) ranks 29.9% faster than the GTX 1080 (stock), with the Ti OC yielding 41% more rendered frames than the 1080 (stock).
Good lookin out fam.
woot
Bitwit omg okokokok
250 amps is clearly a typo. To get 250 amps from 120v the PSU would be pushing 30,000 watts.
i love your usual mistakes. Not joking, they make you feel human.
I was going to get all "but the cpu bottlenecked" and sh!t, but then read your comment and suddenly felt good that you took the time to write this helpful comment here. Thanks
benchmarks start at 7:24
Marin Lopez thx

Damn it, and i'm over here with my peasant ass ASUS ROG Strix GTX1080.....
bakerXderek same dude my evga gtx 1080 hybrid ftw is weak af now
DUDE! I love your videos! CHEAH!!!!!!!!
bakerXderek Fuck your 1080. 780 master race
sell it....people will buy it if u really need too
sell it for 400$ and you'll become my best friend
When you have CPU bottlenecks with an I7-7700K @ 5ghz you know you have a GPU beast
Adriushkbg KBG thats fucking dumb thiugh since its thr best gaming cpu
Proko 8 Well one of them has to be the bottleneck
Proko 8 yeah but Intel won't upgrade their skus at all
Proko 8 don't get mad that the i7 7700k is bottlenecks. Lets see a test with AMD Ryzen 7 1800x and Ryzen 7 1700X with the 1080ti. Lets see if the ryzen chips gets bottleneck.
And when a CPU bottlenecked game gets under 100 FPS, you know that game is terribly optimized! Vulkan is the true winner here!
people say: "these years are the best for graphics cards" i'm still here with a gtx760
TheStoryBro I'm still here with Integrated graphica
GT 705, can anyone do better ?
im still here with a intel hd family graphics
Peanut Skippy gtx 1070 and I'm still not happy. 1080ti here I come!
Best years for graphics cards, not best years for your broke ass.
Kyle, stop being such a great guy. You piece of shit. I love you.
Matthew Ducote don't forget the no homo
Thanks man your benchmark slide are so clear to read compared to others channel
The reason why i switched (from LTT - first generation sub ) watching tech related stuff to Bitwit, jayztwocents and other similar channels. Non scripted. One person. Sit back. Relaxed. Non forced-high-energy-tone. Back to basics.
I'm a fan of LTT but you're right, sometimes the high energy gets old and a no bs just talk about the results video is nice
david tan Kyle has a script in his hand..
david tan switched? you do know you're allowed to watch multiple RUclipsrs right? You can subscribe to all of those people and watch all of their videos. you're not forced to stick with one lol.
you watch GamersNexus? easily some of the best reviews out there.
Why does the word "switch" imply that someone had to make a choice of one or the other? Switch simply means to change focus, regardless of whether it was voluntary or forced. The implication is that he voluntarily switched from LTT because it isn't his preferred tech channel anymore and would rather watch others instead.
Do Nvidia accept kidneys?
Alasdair Fraser A Kidney is worth $250,000
The Dank Dude you ---> the joke. :P
The Dank Dude how the fuck do you know
Dead Memes don't ask, they're watching.
250k? thats not bad at all.
That percentage difference / gain revelation reminded me of Jerry Springer show!
"35% is not your father!" 😂
TekTick omg tektickkkkk
TekTick omg tektickkkkk
TekTick wrong show, Maury
Fuck you all, Intel he 4000 master race boi
ye boi hd 4600 here im waiting for the new cards to come fortnite 30fps 720p verylow hhahaha
Crazy that these are still worth MSRP and more used. Even before the gpu price spike, the 1080ti was still worth so much.
last time i was this early my pentium 4 was considered flagship
DOVAHKIIN Last time I was this late, the GTX 887580 Ti was considered bad
This is so far the BEST 1080 TI benchmarks video.
I peed a bit when I saw benchmarks are out...
Kyle, thanks for always pushing out solid content. I religiously watch out for your new videos and they're always a joy to watch. Keep 'em comin'. The videos, that is. I mean, keep making videos....
Now developers have to make games that will eat all 16 threads of the RYZEN xD
Arek R. No need to bash another tech youtuber just to compliment another. Linus is still awesome.
What the fuck you are talking about???
Your comment was below another users comment, which was talking about how this person moved from LTT to bitwit. I'm assuming they miss-clicked and responded to the wrong comment.
Arek R. Maybe in 2025 when consoles finally catch up. 😅
consoles will never catch up unless it does a yearly new console out every year lol
holy the 7700k at 5ghz bottlenecks it
Nah these results are bogus, the 7700K shouldn't be bottlenecking at this low an fps. Paul's Hardware for example got GTA 5 results 10-15 fps higher for all cards, and it scaled as you'd expect when overclocking. And stfu USMAN stop being a troll.
he needs to download more ram
Easily the best video out showing 1080 Ti benchmarks ! Thanks for making such awesome videos man :)
250 amps? u sure?( 2:30 )
Are *you* sure?
Since the gpu runs on ~1.1V and around 250-300W this is a very realistic number.
Fabian Biegert Yeah watts is rite.. he said amps
I thought I was the only one who noticed the mistake :D
7 years later this Bitwit guy seems do not age a day, what a lad, big fan of you Kyle!!
So.. NVIDIA also benched the 1080ti with MYDMark against the 1080? 😮
awesome video thanks dude! nice to have stereo sound on the video. much apreciated :D
wanna hear a joke?
my bank account
Thanks for being working like that everyday just to provide us many information about benchmarks, also I have learned a lot about PC GAMING thanks to you.
includes cpu-bottlenecked benchmarks then says it's not 35℅ faster. smh
7700K shouldn't be bottlenecking at less than 100 fps. Something is up with his benchmarks, I've seen better results from other channels.
Also didn't even use the correct driver.
I really like the data in the way you present it. Honestly I watch your reviews before anyone else's.
PLZ MAKE 3440X1440 PLZ
umm... if your going to overclock the 1080ti to reach their 35% claim, you need to oc the 1080 too. they would only be accurate if you compare stock to stock or max to max, not stock to max. that's Nvidia Grafworks or AMD slideworks stuff there.
Still would stick with a 1070 for 1080p and 1440p gaming.
Exquisite Yea!
Exquisite that's what I'm using. Love my little Mini-ITX running every game at 60-90fps
not if you want max out graphic setting, i'm still not getting 60fps (1440p) in gta 5 with maxed out everything and I got a 1080 founder one
Especially now that the 1080ti has released the price is going down ;)
what sites do u find these new prices? I can't find them anywhere lmao
The FPD metric.. that is a great idea. But I think it could/should be expanded to be used for both an "upgrade" (say if someone has a 970) and a "new build" (where it includes the FPD once including a complete new set of components (ram, cpu, mobo etc). for a new build, I think the value goes up quite a lot.
1:06 I think that should be 3584
Not all heroes wear capes
John Doe dyslexia has I
Nice video of the 1080Ti. I also like how 1440p is becoming the standard for benchmarking instead of 1080p. By the way it says Hyper 212 Tubro instead of Turbo at 3:54
I HATE MYSELF! I bought a GTX 1080 2 months ago. :'( why?
Joshua Byrer bad timing confirmed
Joshua Byrer i also, but hey, fuck it, enjoy your cards untill at least the 1180 TI is to be released because there are new ones surrounding every 6 months, we still have beast cards..
get another 1. solid 4k performance with 2
And I literally paid $700 for my aftermarket Asus GTX 1080 ROG STRIX card. What's your point?
Joshua Byrer I saw a post on Reddit that you can get some of your money back
I'm here now, in 2020. I have a 1080Ti in my build and I'm about to install a 3080 in my build soon. I just wanted to revisit and nostalgia a little about the time when I watched videos like this, and I couldn't afford 1080Tis, and I was rocking a R9 390 and an i5-4690k.
I wouldn't waste money over 35% faster speed.
I would if it's more or less the same price as a 1080.
RedEyeJedi You don't have the money.
I do. but I'm not a fucking loser who works at McDonald's neither
Alcatraz no it wont
H2o Gaming network anybody who has a job, doesn't matter where, is not a loser.
You have the best 1080ti review in my inbox! Nice vid Kyle!
BUT CAN IT RUN MINESWEEPER?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!
Nope,
Requires quad-SLI 1080 TIs and a motherboard that supports 5 i7-7700k CPUs at 6.9Ghz each (pro tip: Use stock coolers for best results! Will keep your CPU at -420°C and if you start freezing swap them with AMD processors, instant heating!) and 640 GB DDR4 Ram because the game is just TOO demanding and will DEVOUR your PC and fry it just to run at 44p lowest settings at 5 FPS.
Btw its worth paying for all of this just to play this masterpiece!
I'm done.
Hans Sejer
;)
⁊⁊⁊ xD
Great video as usual. As I also have 980 ti sli id like to see a performance comparison between 980 ti sli and the 1080 ti, single and in sli. Putting my rig underwater next week and debating on the switch to lower power consumption.
did anyone else notice the vape behind him?
...who cares?
just interesting to know that he vapes?
Awesome review Kyle. I think it is worth it. I am hoping the pre OC'd models well close that 35% gap a little further.
Sorry, but the 35% is bullshit it isn't that much faster, you say when it is OC against the stock 1080 it is, which is true, but that is irellevant when you can also OC 1080. This was totally bullshit
CaptainRedBleach that was my thoughts as well.
CaptainRedBleach I'm gonna say most of the reason it didn't reach the 35% mark without being overclocked is because of the CPU bottleneck. Literally half of the game benchmarks showed little difference between the Overclock and the stock speeds which means it was the CPU that bottlenecked at that point, which dragged down both marks and letting the 1080 stock catch up.
Wtf is wrong with you? Do you need a checkup by your surgeon?.. ohhh sorry, you can't because you are brain dead.
Ruptured Nut you are part of the problem. That problem being cancer.
In this video, if you watched it that is, it does not show the 1080 Ti being 35% faster than a 1080... out of the box, which is the claim being made by Nvidia. An overclocked 1080 Ti has a 35% increase over an out of the box 1080, but that isn't the claim.
Gave this video a like for the MYDMark benchmark. It's such an underrated benchmarking software! I never see the other RUclipsrs using it.
Early squad, like!
woop woop!!!
cancerrrr
No, no it wasn't too good to be true. Only card faster, to this day, is the 2080ti.
Shit :o
I enjoy watching your videos Bitwit! best regards from norway :D
Wow, unlike Ryzen, Nvidia delivered.
Amir Paydar actually they didn't, they said out of the box, 35% but you have to overclock to get the 35%, and how did Ryzen not deliver?
How are Nvidia (GPU) and Ryzen (CPU) even remotely comparable in your book?
Tarim Khan how did Ryzen not deliver in your book? compare it to the 6900k ($1,000) and the 6950x ($1,600) how did Ryzen ($330-$500) not deliver?
Uhmm...That is what I was trying to say maybe?
What I meant was that he's comparing a CPU to a GPU.
Thx dude for this video. Beautiful presentation. Awesome reviews :D.
First!
dstrbdmedic167 nice!
This is what you do when you get here early right?
dstrbdmedic167 nope you need to do a unfunny joke
Your value & percentage improvement numbers change considerably if you only look at your 4K benchmarks. I ran the numbers myself & found the following:
1080 - 490frames, 0.98frames/$
1080Ti - 652frames, 0.93frames/$
1080TiOC - 699frames, 1.00frames/$
Again with only 4K benchmarks, you get that the 1080 Ti is 33% faster than a stock 1080, & the 1080 Ti overclocked is 43% faster than an stock 1080.
I'm not saying the summary you did is invalid in any way. Only that if you look at the 1080 Ti as a 4K gaming card, which I believe was NVidia's intention, you get a lot closer to the claimed 35% improvement & a much closer value parity, which makes sense, as you saw some CPU bottlenecks at 1440p.
Also, off topic, but I'm just curious, what core temps did you see on that i7-7700K @ 5.0GHz with a Hyper 212?
The three holes in the back of the card at 1:40 are they for ventilation? Are they threaded? And if they are threaded what would you even mount to it.
rapidly becoming my fave tech guy
Saw your video pop up in my feed and I hopped outta bed like it was Christmas! XD Also, didn't know you vaped, you now have additional points in my book. Thanks for the vid!
Got my shipping confirmation for the 1080ti earlier today!
The radiator for the Kraken x62 over your right should is upside down in that case. The tubes should be on the bottom when mounted like that to eliminate a possibility of sucking in air to the pump.
Hey, @bitwit, you have an awesome channel, very informative. But in this one I think your numbers are a little biased because you did hit a few very significant bottlenecks (likely from the CPU). That means the 21.5% frames rendered you correctly used to measured or estimate the power increase from the 1080 to the 1080ti is probably smaller than the real one. If you had not hit a non GPU bottleneck your 21.5% would have been perfect, but you did hit bottlenecks which should make adjust for measurements inconsistencies.
Still, very very nice job. I liked your video, but please DO include some kind of subtitles in it so people don't get the idea that nvidia flat out lied with the correct data to support the claim.
best test I have ever watched, good job!
Great video. Definitely would like to see 2 gtx 1080 ti in sli benchmark tested.
Great review but a few questions, was the 1080 overclocked and if not you should include those results to give us a better comparison if it's worth upgrading if we just got a 1080. Also for Fps averages was the 1080 bottlenecked by CPU as well? If not wouldn't it be unfair to compare ones that were bottlenecked then ones that weren't?
Kyle, you are the best. i love you. Best video, great amount of benchmarks.
Thanks for the must awaited benchmark of the Year the GTX 1080TI, so clean so far amazing result, a beast
With new 1080 prices ....
if 100% = 500€ for GTX 1080 (MSI 1080 Aero 8G OC reference model) then
500*1,215 (performance increase) = 607,€ would be the price/performance ratio.
the testet OC improvement of 35.7% dont matter because there are overclocked 1080 also. The effect would be more or less nullified.
so ~20% increase for an extra 300€ at release. We need Vega right now!
Only problem with the 35% figure is you forgot the gtx 1080 can be OCed too :) Is an oced 1080 ti 35% faster then an oced 1080? Am just curious why you left that part out. Im guessing it was a time thing....
So, correct me if I'm wrong, but you OC'd the 1080 TI to achieve 35% but you didn't OC the standard 1080??Shouldn't you OC both to make a true comparison?
Love your vids, but why didn't you include a over clocked 1080 in your comparison to the ti? I mean why would you want to include a over clocked ti in the vid operating at peak performance and not report a 1080 at peak specs as well?
Hey Kyle loving the content! Is there anyway you could test to find out which would be better for GPU Accelerated video rendering? There are plenty of benchmarks out for gaming but with a lot of people doing youtube videos and streams and saving or posting them or doing minor editing as a side hobby and gaming to an extent; I would love to find out what would be the best value! Dual gtx 1070, a 1080, dual 1080, 1080ti, Titan XP? With rendering we should see a lot more performance in sli than with gaming but just how much?
Looking forward to the PAX content!
So will it be available to buy at midnight? I don't have time to wait any longer for other brands to release they're versions. I've waited long enough I have every other part for my 1st PC.
TL;DW The 1080Ti is only 20%~ faster than the 1080, not 35% as Nvidia marketing said.
Would you consider doing a 4K frames comparison between 1080 SLI and one 1080 Ti?
what do you mean with 1% low and 0,1% low?
I want to built this GPU with a new computer. what Intel i7 do you recommend and what motherboard and case do you recommend? I will primarily use it for stock trading (so I need multiple screen outputs) and I will jockey around with the game PUBG as secondary use for the computer. I really like the computer set up you have in the background of this video so a case with tempered glass would be nice
How did you not Benchmark Witcher3 :/
Just curious if in the future you could put GTX 1080 OC benchmarks in there to see what the difference is across all scenarios...
6:49 what vape you got there in the back??? do you vape in the same room as all your computer stuff?
Im used to highest, average, and low FPS. So what does 1% low and 0.1% low mean?
Kyle,
if you could only have one... Would you go ahead and get it straight from Nvidia, or wait until next month to see what EVGA and the others are able to achieve with it?
Sincerely,
an impatient college student
Ps: I'm really enjoying your channel man. Just subscribed to you Paul and Jason last week. Really good stuff all around!
3:51 "I really wanted to max out the ipc" ipc means instructions per clock, it doesn't change when clocking higher.
its worth the price, wounded if the titan x price will drop?
Would I just need the stock cooler or a aftermarket cooler?
Hey Man, thank you very much, your video is awesome, very interesting. I have a Ryzen 7 1700, 16gb ram and a MSI GTX 1060 6gb, it is worth to spend $750 for a GTX 1080ti , or it is better to take advantage of the downprice of a GTX 1080 for $525 ? I Will apriciate your recomendation.
u run the 1080ti OC,ed but what about the 1080 OC ? the FPD would go up for the 1080 even tho it already leads and the frames bracket would also close
What about the performance improvement compared to a 1080 OC?
6:28 So a stock clock 1080ti is as loud or just a touch louder than a stock clock 1080 when both are at load. AND no partner models until April :( Hopefully we'll know more about Vega by then.
Launch drivers aren't out yet though right. could make a big difference
Don't mind me just coming back to the golden ages of graphics cards. When launches were good, prices were fair, and scalpers didn't ruin everything.
what pc case and motherboard are behind him at 02:00 ? the white one ?
Did you really do these benchmarks on a motherboard just on top if it's box? That's awesome. I am donating towards patreon page on payday. Keep it ghetto Kyle 😉
I joined the master race a week ago and I already feel like I have outdated tech, I have a gtx 970 ftw. I want that 1080ti
Oh man Kyle, it's 9:30am here on the East Coast what are you doing up so early
Is that a sigeli mod box in the background?
How do you know when the board partners will be releasing their cards?? I was really hoping I wouldn't have to wait till April. :/
Do you have problems with your kraken too? Mines stuck at the turning logo... cam wont start or doesent detect 90% of the time
I personally work with a 1080 OC and would have liked to see a four part comparison. Looking at this right off the bat i'm ready to get rid of my 1080 and get me a 1080ti, which is a superior GPU. However how would a overclocked 1080 compare to a standard and OC 1080ti. I don't think the difference between the two would be THAT much more, but, that's a personal opinion.
can I make a suggestion for a future video and to put two of those graphics cards together and see what the performance gains are like
You should have put GTX 1080 OC scores in there too. It would have given a more rounded comparison.
great video Kyle. very through
Hold on, are you taking the 1440p performance while calculating whether its 35% faster or are you just taking the 4k results. Because you were hitting a cpu bottleneck in many of the titles. Great video btw!
Great ! Now can we get a good g sync monitor please?
What are your anti aliasing settings for the 4k benchmarks?
