    3 years later it still does extremely well in 1440p gaming. I'm still rocking one in my rig with an i7 8700k and have no regrets.

      My factory overclocked Aurus GTX1080ti has practically speaking same fps at same settings as a stock RTX2080ti at both 1080p and 4k in most of my games and salty RTX owners simply refuses to believe me lol. It is not fun when you pay 600$ more for no gain so they prefer to live in their own fantasy world believing they have the fastest graphics card in the universe...

      @@a64738 Truthfully I don't really believe ya either. I don't think overclocking can get you to the point of a 1080ti performing on par with a 2080ti, regardless of the board partners.

      @@a64738 I think the 2080 does get better fps, it's just not worth it for the price, a 1080ti even in early 2020 is way better than a 2080, I mean the 1080ti costs 300-450 euros, the 2080ti costs 1200+ euros. And the difference in fps isn't Hughmungus so definitely not worth the 1200+ euros.

      @@weavercs4014 You are sadly reading the statitstics wrong or is missinformed... In a collection of 19 games the stock GTX1080ti was within 10-30 % fps in average of stock RTX2080ti and if you do cherry picking you have no trouble finding games that run faster on either. Also 30% fps is nothing... Just a bad motherboard can make you loose 10% and a bad card 30% more. Also a good GTX1080ti beats a bad sample of RTX2080ti because they are so close in performance. Also ALL 350$ card on the market is withing 30% fps in most games of the stock RTX2080ti. Educate yourself, there is lot of doctored benchmarks out there that missuses statistics to make it look like the RTX2080ti is a superfast card compared the rest. The trouth is that it is just a little faster in gaming... For comparison the GTX1080ti was on avareage 70% fps faster then GTX980ti and it got much less bragging then the 30% on a good day RTX2080ti.... Simply put you have been scammed!

      If you paid that much for a 1060, you're an idiot. I HAD a 1060 6gb that fried earlier this year and WAITED all this time for prices to come down to sane levels. Just got an FTW3 1080ti for that price.
      I hated my 1060 even when it did work; it was overpriced for its performance even when it was $280.

      Who the fuck are you? Got something to prove, asshole? I bought it below MSRP and for what it was it was alright, but not at all for proper 1440p or VR. I didn't destroy it; the cause turned out to be a short from this year's super high humidity. Have since bought a dehumidifier to prevent that shit from happening again.
      My point wasn't that it died, my point was that subjectively, modern midrange cards aren't worth the price like they were ten or so years ago.

    • @Supervhizor
      @Supervhizor 7 лет назад +25

      +Adrenaline junkie Actually, as a TitanXP owner myself, I don't feel I got skanked. I bought my card on day 1 and it's been running water cooled at 2100mhz ever since, which is when it starts choking on available power (So really, it's not getting beat by the 1080ti--even board partner cards will only be able to match the performance and not really pass it). I paid a premium to enjoy this performance 9 months ahead of everyone else who waited for the 1080ti so I think I got my money's worth. On top of that, since the stock cooler on my particular card has never spun and has been sitting in its original box all this time (thus absolutely NO mechanical wear to speak of), I can probably get $500-$600 for my XP when I reassemble it and go to sell it to buy the next TitanX(Black?)(P+?) who fucking knows anymore...

    • @avluis86
      @avluis86 7 лет назад +20

      This is the problem with this statement:
      Next title release (probably another unoptimized mess from Ubi) that gets added to the bench list won't hit 4k60, so we wait once again for the next GPU.
      Next GPU is here, but the same issue applies above -- more than likely that new GPU won't hit that sweet 4k60, so we get to wait again.
      Next GPU, bench, etc -- you get the point.
      There won't ever be a GPU that will always run 4k60 because the bar keeps moving further and further.
      If this was a relevant metric, then we wouldn't be benchmarking multiple games.

      I dont say that is not useful, but rather lower resolutions push more the CPUs. At 4K you have more a rather GPU bottleneck, but at 1440 and 1080, you have more a CPU bottleneck. Plus, still 4K is not a resolution so common, and so difficult to achieve 100 fps even with the fastest card in the world.

      Yup. Gonna try and get myself a 3080 on launch, but I don't have my hopes up. Nvidia is pulling a big scam by putting their best foot forward, then likely following up with a "gpu shortage" that will jack the prices of 3rd party cards, putting the prices of 3000 series on par with those of 2000 series. I wish things were back like they were during the 10 series, minus the massive crypto mining phase of course.
